Description
- La présente invention concerne un appareil et un procédé de chauffage liquide l'appareil pouvant également brûler un combustible solide.
- On connaît déjà un poêle agencé pour fonctionner soit au moyen d'un combustible liquide, soit avec un combustible solide (brevet américain No. 1.485.668). Pour cela, ce poêle comporte, d'une part, de manière classique, une grille sur laquelle peut brûler le combustible solide et, d'autre part, un brûleur Bunsen disposé à sa partie supérieure. Lorsqu'on désire produire de la chaleur en quantité suffisante en utilisant exclusivement un combustible liquide, on doit remplir la grille à l'aide de matériaux réfractaires qu'il faut ensuite évacuer lorsqu'on veut brûler un combustible solide. D'autre part, le brûleur Bunsen ne peut fonctionner de manière satisfaisante qu'avec des combustibles liquides riches en hydrocarbures, tandis que son fonctionnement peut être perturbé par suite de l'encrassement résultant de la combustion de combustibles solides lesquels doivent également être des produits relativement riches en hydrocarbures.
- L'invention se propose de remédier aux inconvénients et insuffisances des appareils de chauffage connus aptes à brûler aussi bien des combustibles liquides que des combustibles solides.
- L'appareil de chauffage selon la présente invention est notamment remarquable en ce qu'il comprend un corps ou enveloppe comportant une cavité centrale constituant le foyer dudit appareil et une admission de combustible liquide apte à être raccordée à une installation d'alimentation et débouchant dans la partie supérieure de ladite cavité; une pluralité de grilles superposées étant installée dans la partie inférieure dudit foyer, au-dessous de ladite admission de combustible liquide.
- Le procédé de chauffage par la combustion d'un combustible liquide suivant l'invention est remarquable en ce que l'on brûle ledit combustible sur un ensemble de grilles superposées sur lequel on le fait s'écouler, de préférence par gravité.
- Le générateur de chaleur selon l'invention offre l'avantage de fonctionner aussi bien par la combustion de combustibles solides divers tels que charbon, coke, bois, sciure de bois, déchets ménagers, etc., que par la combustion de combustibles liquides tels qu'huiles ou corps gras liquéfiés d'origine diverse, sans qu'il soit besoin de procéder à une modification quelconque dudit générateur de chaleur pour passer d'un mode de combustion à l'autre.
- Cet appareil de chauffage a pour autre avantage de pouvoir être alimenté aussi bien à l'aide de combustibles solides ou liquides traditionnels, riches en hydrocarbures, préparés et commercialisés pour le chauffage, qu'au moyen de déchets ménagers ou industriels, ou d'huiles de graissage usagées telles qu'huiles de vidange; ledit appareil de chauffage pouvant alors remplir la fonction d'un incinérateur domestique ou industriel.
- Ces buts, caractéristiques et avantages, et d'autres encore, ressortiront mieux de la description qui suit et des dessins annexés dans lesquels:
- La figure 1 est une vue en coupe verticale et à caractère schématique d'une installation de chauffage comportant une chaudière réalisée selon l'invention.
- La figure 2 est une vue en plan de l'ensemble de grilles, avec arrachement partiel des grilles superposées.
- La figure 3 est une vue en plan analogue à la figure 2, illustrant un autre mode d'exécution de l'ensemble de grilles.
- La figure 4 est une vue en coupe verticale et à caractère schématique d'une variante d'exécution de l'appareil de chauffage revendiqué.
- On se réfère auxdits dessins pour décrire des exemples avantageux, quoique nullement limitatifs, de réalisation de l'appareil de chauffage selon l'invention.
- Ce dernier comprend un corps ou enveloppe 1 ayant une section circulaire ou autre et exécuté en tôle d'acier, en fonte ou en tout matériau réfractaire convenable.
- Cette enveloppe délimite le foyer 2 de l'appareil de chauffage lequel peut être un poêle émettant de la chaleur par rayonnement, ou, comme représenté aux dessins, une chaudière de chauffage central. Dans ce dernier cas, au moins un échangeur 3 est installé à la partie supérieure du foyer.
- Comme illustré à la figure 1, cet échangeur peut être avantageusement constitué par un serpentin hélicoidal disposé contre la surface interne de la partie supérieure de la paroi latérale de l'enveloppe 1. Ce serpentin comporte un entrée 4 et une sortie 5 accessibles de l'extérieur de l'enveloppe 1, pour son raccordement aux canalisations de départ et de retour, respectivement, du réseau de distribution d'une installation de chauffage central.
- Suivant la figure 4, la chaudière comporte deux échangeurs superposés 3'-3". L'échangeur supérieur 3' est, par exemple, affecté à la production d'eau chaude destinée aux usages domestiques, tandis que l'échangeur inférieur 3" est connecté au réseau de distribution d'une installation de chauffage central.
- De manière classique, un orifice 6 communiquant avec un tuyau 7 de raccordement à un conduit de fumée, est ménagé à la partie supérieure de la paroi latérale du corps 1.
- Dans la partie inférieure de corps 1, sont montées en superposition et de manière espacée, des grilles 8-8a-8b-8c-8d-8e, lesquelles peuvent être constituées, par des plaques perforées (figures 1 et 2) ou par des barreaux espacés (figure 3).
- Les ouvertures de ces grilles ont des dimensions décroissantes de haut en bas.
- Ainsi, comme le montre la figure 2, la grille supérieure 8 est pourvue des perforations les plus grandes, tandis que les dimensions des perforations des grilles sous-jacentes diminuent progressivement, jusqu'à la grille inférieure 8e qui présente les perforations les plus petites. De manière comparable, lorsque les grilles superposées sont composées de barreaux espacés, comme illustré à la figure 3, l'écartement entre les barreaux formant chacune desdites grilles décroit, de la grille supérieure 8 dont les barreaux sont le plus largement espacés, à la grille inférieure 8e dont les barreaux le sont le moins. En outre, les grilles constituées de barreaux sont disposées de façon que les barreaux dont est composée chacune d'entre elles, aient une orientation différente par rapport aux barreaux formant les autres grilles. Un espace 9 est réservé dans la partie inférieure du corps 1, au dessous de l'ensemble de grilles superposées, pour la réception des cendres. Dans ladite partie inférieure, l'appareil comporte, de manière connue en soi, un ou plusieurs orifices d'admission d'air (non représentés).
- La partie supérieure du corps 1 présente une ouverture obturée par un couvercle 10 comportant un orifice axial 11 traversé par la portion verticale d'une tubulure 12, dont l'extrémité inférieure débouche dans le foyer 2 au-dessus de l'ensemble de grilles, et dont l'extrémité supérieure est agencée pour pouvoir être raccordée à une tuyauterie souple 13 reliée à des moyens d'alimentation.
- Cette tuyauterie est, par exemple, branchée, par son extrémité opposée, à la base d'un réservoir d'alimentation 14. L'orifice de sortie 15 de ce réservoir est disposé au-dessus du niveau où est placé l'orifice d'entrée de la tubulure 12, de manière que le combustible liquide contenu dans ledit réservoir puisse s'écouler par gravité, jusqu'à la sortie de ladite tubulure.
- Un obturateur tel qu'un robinet 16 est, de préférence, installé sur la tubulure 12 ou sur la tuyauterie 13, pour permettre l'écoulement du combustible, son interruption ou le réglage du débit d'écoulement. Une canalisation souple ou rigide 17, sur laquelle est montée une pompe électrique 18, débouche à la partie supérieure du réservoir 14, l'extrémité inférieure de cette tuyauterie plongeant dans une cuve de stockage 19.
- Le remplissage du réservoir d'alimentation 14 est commandé automatiquement par un flotteur 20 logé dans ledit réservoir et agissant sur un contacteur 21 commandant la mise en route ou l'arrêt de la pompe 18. On comprend que la baisse du niveau du combustible liquide contenu dans le réservoir d'alimentation entraîne la descente du flotteur qui, lorsque le niveau bas prédeterminé est atteint, agit, par l'intermédiaire du levier 22 dont il est solidaire, sur le contacteur 21 lequel commande la mise en route de la pompe 18.
- De façon analogue, lorsque le niveau de remplissage souhaitable est atteint, ledit flotteur exerce une action sur le contacteur 21 qui commande l'arrêt de la pompe.
- Le réservoir d'alimentation 14 peut être fixé dans une position élevée, de toute manière convenable. Comme illustré à la figure 1, ledit réservoir est, par exemple, solidaire de deux montants 23 (dont un seul est représenté) destinés à se loger par coulissement, chacun, dans un manchon 24 et dans une douille sous- jacente 25 solidaires de la périphérie du corps de l'appareil de chauffage, lesdits montants prennant appui, par leur extrémité inférieure, dans le fond desdites douilles.
- On conçoit que l'appareil de chauffage qui vient d'être décrit est susceptible de fonctionner aussi bien par la combustion d'un combustible solide que par la combustion d'une combustible liquide.
- Dans le premier cas, le combustible solide tel quecharbon, bois, sciure de bois, déchets ménagers ou industriels,..., est introduit, dans le foyer 2 par l'ouverture supérieure du corps 1, après soulèvement ou enlèvement du couvercle 10 tenant lieu de tampon de chargement.
- Lorsqu'on veut utiliser un combustible liquide, tel qu'huile ou autre corps gras liquéfié, l'installation d'alimentation est mise en fonctionnement. Le combustible liquide s'écoule par la tubulure d'admission 12 et tombe successivement sur les grilles 8-8a-8b-8c-8d-8e qui se trouvent enrobées ou imprégnées par ledit combustible. Il suffit alors de présenter une flamme au-dessous des grilles, par exemple au moyen d'un papier enflammé, pour amorcer la combustion laquelle se poursuit ensuite nomalement, l'installation d'alimentation assurant l'écoulement constant de l'huile sur les grilles.
- L'appareil de chauffage revendiqué peut aussi brûler simultanément un combustible solide, par exemple constitué par des déchets ménagers, industriels, hospitaliers, etc., et un combustible liquide, ledit appareil pouvant ainsi remplir la fonction d'une incinérateur.
- L'invention concerne également le procédé de production de chaleur par la combustion d'huiles ou de corps gras liquéfiés, consistant à brûler une huile ou un corps gras liquéfié, que l'on fait s'écouler, de préféence, par gravité, sur un jeu de grilles superposées.
- Suivant le mode d'exécution illustré à la figure 4, les grilles 8-8a-8b-8c-8d-8e,... sont portées par un cylindre 26 reposant sur une plaque d'appui 27 en forme de couronne ou de portion de couronne. Cette plaque d'appui est rigidement solidaire du sommet d'un cylindre 28 comportant une ouverture latérale 29 correspondant à l'ouverture d'accès à l'espace 9 ménagée dans le corps 1 et équipée d'une porte coulissante 30, le volume intérieur dudit cylindre correspondant audit espace 9 réservé pour la réception des cendres. Le cylindre 28 comporte un fond 31 disposé à distance du fond 1 a du corps 1. Le fond (31) est, par exemple, solidaire de pieds 32 reposant sur le fond 1 a et permettant de ménager un réservoir de récupération 33 entre lesdits fonds 31 et 1a.
- Le bord inférieur de l'ouverture 29 est disposé à une certaine distance du fond 31, de sorte que la partie inférieure du cylindre 28-31 constitue un bac. Ce bac se déverse automatiquement dans le réservoir de récupération 33 au moyen d'un tuyau 34 en forme de coude raccordé à un orifice de sortie 35 ménagé dans la paroi latérale du cylindre 28, à un niveau situé entre le bord inférieur de l'ouverture 29 et le fond 31, à faible distance de ce dernier.
- Le réservoir de récupération 33 est pourvu, dans sa partie inférieure, d'un orifice de vidange équipé d'un bouchon obturateur 36. D'autre part, des orifices d'aération 37 sont ménagés à la partie supérieure de la paroi latérale du réservoir de récupération.
- Cet agencement de la partie inférieure de l'appareil de chauffage permet de récupérer le combustible liquide, dans l'éventualité où le feu s'éteindrait et où l'admission dudit combustible se poursuivrait.
