Abstract

Blister package for medicaments safe from children consisting of a deep drawn plastics film provided with a plurality of recesses and a covering film that cannot be pushed through and is sealed with the plastics film, wherein incisions forming corners are made in the sealing edge.

Description

The invention relates to a child-resistant blister pack for medicines in various dosage forms, such as tablets, capsules, dragees, suppositories, etc., which consists of a thermoformed thermoformed film provided with cups and a non-push-through cover film sealed with it and stamped into the sealing edge of corner-forming incisions are.

Blister packs for medicaments which are intended to prevent children from accessing the medication are known per se, but have the disadvantage that they have not hitherto been able to be produced economically. New packaging machines have to be purchased for the previously proposed blister packs, since they cannot be produced with the usual machines.

From DE-OS 25 52 812 a child-safe package for medication is known, which has sawtooth-like corners instead of the four outer corners of the blister pack. With the sawtooth-like Ekken the cover film should be scratched and then the medication should be removed by applying pressure to the bowl. Appropriate punching tools are required to produce the sawtooth-shaped Ekken, which are subject to considerable wear and tear on the usual high-performance deep-drawing systems. As a result, there is a risk that only blunt saw teeth are formed, which make it particularly difficult for older patients to open such blister packs. In addition, the saw teeth can lead to considerable malfunctions on high-speed packaging machines because the further transport, stacking and subsequent cartoning of the blister packs is significantly impaired. Finally Kings i nen the sharp saw teeth also cause the patient to injury.

The object of the present invention was therefore to overcome these known disadvantages.

It was therefore found a child-resistant blister pack for medications that are from a provided with wells, thermoformed plastic film and a versie- with it I is not push-through cover sheet and punched in particular sealing edge corner forming incisions. The incisions stamped into the sealing edge are preferably formed from right-angled cuts, but they can also have other shaped forms of cutting lines. The punched in the sealing edge incision is folded out before use and then has a few or several sharp-edged Schnei d peaks.

In general, a rectangular blister pack will have four right-angled or other shaped, fold-out, sharp-edged cutting tips. However, it is also possible, particularly in the case of differently designed geometric base areas of such blister packs, to punch fewer or more than four corner-forming incisions into the sealing edge.

The child-resistant blister pack (1) shown in FIG. 1 can be produced on conventional deep-drawing systems are, whose technical production process is known to take place such that the heated plastic film ( 2 ) is deep-drawn into cups (4) by vacuum or compressed air. These bowls are then filled with the drug, e.g. tablets, capsules, dragees, suppositories, etc. (5) and welded to a non-push-through cover film (3) by means of heated rollers or plates under pressure against the deep-drawn plastic film (2). Then the incisions (6) are punched into the sealing edge and the blister packs provided with the incisions are punched out in one work cycle.

To take the medication, the patient folds out the flat part (7) formed by the incisions in the opposite direction to the bowl (see FIGS. 2 and 3) and pushes the sharp-edged cutting tip of the right-angled flat part (7) into the cover film of a conveniently accessible bowl ( Figure 3). The drug can then be removed by simply pressing the bowl.

The blister pack according to the invention is particularly advantageous if right-angled incisions are provided which can be processed without problems on conventional high-performance systems in the unfolded state and, in their use, provide particularly reliable protection against the removal of medication by children. Of course, the package according to the invention can also be used for other solid or liquid contents if the requirement for a child-resistant package exists.
