Definitions
- the invention relates to a child-resistant packaging, in particular a pharmaceutical packaging, comprising at least one blister card, wherein the blister card comprises two films, of which one film is designed as a carrier film with at least one blister cavity for receiving packaged goods, in particular for receiving a pharmaceutical active ingredient formulation such as a tablet, and forms an upper side of the blister card, and the other film is designed as a push-through cover film, wherein the cover film is at least partially connected to the carrier film while leaving the at least one blister cavity free and at least partially forms an underside of the blister card opposite the upper side, and the cover film closes the at least one blister cavity filled with packaged goods.
- the blister card comprises two films, of which one film is designed as a carrier film with at least one blister cavity for receiving packaged goods, in particular for receiving a pharmaceutical active ingredient formulation such as a tablet, and forms an upper side of the blister card, and the other film is designed as a push-through cover film, wherein the cover film is at least partially connected to the carrier film while leaving the at least one blister cavity free and at least
- the state of the art already includes a wide variety of packaging designs that are considered child-resistant and/or senior-friendly.
- non-resealable packaging for pharmaceutical products in Europe is considered "child-resistant" if at least 85% of a test group of small children aged 42 to 51 months are unable to gain access to more than eight of at least ten dose units presented, such as tablets, capsules or dragees, within ten minutes.
- the packaging is considered senior-friendly if at least 90% of a test group of adults gain access to at least one of the dose units in the one-minute test.
- the DE 20 2004 003 781 U1 a child-resistant rectangular packaging made of two interconnected films, with a flat closure area enclosing at least one receiving space for a filling material.
- the receiving space is opened along a marked weakening line or by removing an edge section of the film.
- the EN 10 2004 062 864 A1 a film container with two interconnected films and with receiving chambers for a filling material, wherein at least one of the films is provided with markings for tearing open the film. The marking is released after the film is bent, whereupon the filling material can be removed from the film container by tearing open the film.
- so-called wallet packaging is already known from the state of the art.
- the documents DE 20 2006 007 553 U1 , DE 44 29 503 C2 as well as EP 2 055 649 A1 Packaging in which blister packs in the form of blister strips or blister cards serve as primary packaging for the packaged goods and these are connected to secondary packaging, for example made of folding cardboard.
- tablets for example, are packaged goods welded in a conventional manner into cavities in a blister strip or blister card inside a folding box or carton.
- the blister cards can be glued, sealed, riveted or attached with labels to the outer secondary packaging, for example, or alternatively can be inserted in compartments in the secondary packaging so that they can be removed.
- the outer secondary packaging usually in the form of folding boxes, is designed in such a way that access to the blister cards inside is difficult.
- the document GB 2 352 231 A shows a wallet packaging in which the entire blister card filled with tablets can be removed from the secondary packaging.
- the blister card is pulled out of the secondary packaging through a slot on the side.
- blister packaging usually refers to visible packaging, i.e. product packaging that allows the customer or buyer to see the packaged goods.
- Blister packs are widely used to package pharmaceutical active ingredient formulations such as tablets. Such packaging is also called push-through packaging and is usually produced in strip or card form.
- a blister card or blister strip usually comprises two films, one of which is a carrier film, usually made of transparent plastic. Individual recesses, known as blister cavities, are formed in the carrier film, into which the packaged goods, usually individual dosage units of tablets, capsules or dragees, are filled and which are sealed with a cover film, for example made of aluminum. For example, deep-drawn plastic trays with an aluminum cover film sealed on the back are used to package the tablets.
- blister packs offer several advantages over glass or plastic bottles. They are more hygienic, and depending on the film materials used, such blister packs can exclude undesirable influences such as high humidity or dirt, and it is also easier to identify the remaining number of dosage units in the pack. Special blister packs also allow the dosage schedule to be shown on the pack. For example, the packaging of many birth control pills is printed with the days of the week. This not only makes it possible to check whether the pills have been taken, but also allows different tablets to be reliably assigned to the days of the menstrual cycle.
- blister packs that are "child-resistant" must also be designed to be suitable for seniors, although the requirements of these two user groups are contradictory to one another.
- Child-resistant packaging to protect small children can, on the other hand, represent an insurmountable obstacle for seniors.
- peelable (peelable) safety films that are "child-resistant”.
- the peelable films must first be peeled off the cover films as a push-through protection before the corresponding dose can be pushed out of the packaging through the cover film.
- older people often find it difficult to grasp and remove such peelable safety films.
- the publication WO2004041675A1 discloses a child-resistant packaging having the features defined in the preamble of claim 1.
- a child-resistant packaging in particular in a pharmaceutical packaging according to the invention, which comprises at least one blister card
- the blister card comprises two films, of which one film is designed as a carrier film with at least one blister cavity for receiving packaged goods, in particular for receiving a pharmaceutical active ingredient formulation such as a tablet, and forms an upper side of the blister card
- the other film is designed as a push-through cover film
- the cover film is at least partially connected to the carrier film, leaving the at least one blister cavity free, and at least partially forms an underside of the blister card opposite the upper side
- the cover film closes at least one blister cavity filled with packaged goods
- at least one base card is movably attached to two opposite side edges or to two opposite edge sections of the blister card and this base card is configured to lie flat against the underside of the blister card at least partially in a securing position and to secure the enclosed packaged goods against unintentional removal and against the cover film being pushed through, where the backing card by an external force by means of counter-current By pressing together two packaging
- the carrier film of the blister card has one or more fold edges and/or perforations as weakening lines so that it can be folded, folded or curved along these defined edges or weakening lines. This ensures that, largely independent of the material selected for the packaging, the transition between the securing position, in which no external force is applied to the spaced-apart packaging sections, and the removal position, which is fixed during an external force, is a reversible back-and-forth movement. Depending on the arrangement, one or more fold edges in the carrier film of the blister card can also ensure that the packaging has sufficient stability or buckling resistance due to the fold edges.
- the packaging is designed in such a way that small children cannot grasp the opposing packaging sections, which have to be pressed together in opposite directions with one hand to transfer the packaging from the securing position to the removal position.
- the two opposing packaging sections that have to be pressed together are advantageously too far apart for a small child to be able to do this with one hand.
- the packaging is designed in such a way that it is only sufficiently rigid in the removal position, which is fixed by opposite-directed compression during the application of external force, so that in this removal position the packaged goods or a tablet can be removed from a blister cavity by pushing through the cover film of the blister card.
- the packaging must be operated with both hands at the same time.
- the packaging must be brought into the removal position by squeezing it together and fixed in this position in order to be able to simultaneously push one or more packaged goods units from the corresponding blister cavities into the interior of the packaging with the other free hand.
- the packaging according to the invention can be adapted particularly flexibly to the applicable safety regulations by a suitable choice of these dimensions, i.e. the distances between the pressure points on the opposite packaging sections of the packaging according to the invention, as well as by a suitable selection of known blister cover films with which the push-through force for pushing through or removing the packaged goods can be varied.
- a suitable choice of these dimensions i.e. the distances between the pressure points on the opposite packaging sections of the packaging according to the invention, as well as by a suitable selection of known blister cover films with which the push-through force for pushing through or removing the packaged goods can be varied.
- blister card chosen here is to be understood as synonymous with the equally common term blister strip as blister packaging for individual packaging units such as tablets.
- the push-through force for pushing through or removing the packaged goods in a range between about 20 N and 120 N.
- These push-through forces were determined in tests with a so-called Pharma Pin with a diameter of 10.5 mm.
- at least two parameters are available for the particularly flexible and individual design of a safety-compliant packaging according to the invention.
- the carrier film and the cover film can be made up of one or more layers.
- the cover film is sealed to the carrier film, for example by gluing, welding or sealing.
- Typical materials for the carrier film include plastics such as polyamide (PA), polyester (UP), polycarbonate (PC), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or corresponding copolymers.
- plastics such as polyamide (PA), polyester (UP), polycarbonate (PC), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or corresponding copolymers.
- PA polyamide
- PC polycarbonate
- PP polypropylene
- PE polyethylene
- PVC polyvinyl chloride
- composite materials such as one or more plastic films with paper or cardboard layers can also be used as carrier films.
- Metal foils such as aluminum foils or aluminum composite films made from aluminum and, for example, a plastic are used as cover films.
- the at least one base card which acts as a child-resistant removal protection in the secured position of the packaging on the underside of the at least one or more blister cards filled with packaged goods, can optionally be made up of one or more layers.
- the base card can expediently be made up of the same material or - in the case of a multi-layered structure - of the same materials from which the at least one blister card is made. It is also possible within the scope of the invention for the base card to be made up of a different material than the materials used to construct the blister cards.
- a single-layer or single-ply reinforcement layer for example made of a transparent plastic with appropriate rigidity, can be used as the base card.
- the base card can also be designed as a multi-layer reinforcement plate within the scope of the invention.
- the base card can also be another blister card, which is arranged opposite to the first blister card and is movably attached to the blister card, and in which the push-through cover films are oriented towards each other towards an inner packaging space.
- the push-through cover films are arranged on the outside of the packaging on its outer surfaces, which protect the packaged goods from the outside.
- backing card is understood to mean, depending on the design of the packaging, a flat reinforcing layer or reinforcing plate of approximately the same size as one or more blister cards, which can be constructed in one or more layers.
- a backing card can, for example, consist of a carrier film, which can also provided for in the blister card, or can optionally be a blister card itself with the corresponding blister cavities for receiving packaged goods.
- the backing card serves as a backing or protective means to protect the cover film of the blister card and is intended to prevent the cover film of the blister card from being pushed through or damaged in the securing position of the packaging.
- the backing card therefore acts like a cover card to cover or protect the opposite cover film on the underside of the blister card assigned to it.
- the backing card forms a separate section of the packaging from the cover film of the opposite blister card assigned to it that is to be protected. In the securing position, the backing card rests against the cover film arranged opposite to protect it, but does not adhere to it.
- the backing card can be moved, shifted, pivoted, folded and/or swiveled into a position spaced apart from the cover film by appropriate compression in the removal position of the packaging - depending on the design of the packaging.
- this does not require the backing card to be peeled off or removed from the cover film.
- the inner packaging space which is enclosed by one or more blister cards and one or more backing cards, offers the advantage that packaged goods such as a tablet, which has been pressed out of the corresponding blister cavity in the fixed removal position by pushing through the cover film, first reach the packaging interior of the packaging and can be removed from the packaging interior through a removal opening.
- the opening for removing the packaged goods can be designed in such a way that, for example, a tablet can be poured from the inside of the packaging directly into the patient's mouth without having to be handled by hand.
- the base card can be reversibly moved from the securing position to a removal position by applying an external force by means of opposing compression of two packaging sections that are opposite and spaced apart from one another.
- the packaging is designed in such a way that at least one base card can be moved by itself or in combination with at least one corresponding blister card or with other base cards by applying an external force by compression using one hand.
- the operator who wants to open the packaging can move it from the securing position to the removal position.
- This movement transition is to be understood as a reversible back and forth movement between the securing position - without external force acting on the packaging sections that are spaced apart from one another - and the removal position - during external force acting on the packaging sections that are spaced apart from one another.
- the two corresponding packaging sections that are opposite one another and spaced apart from one another can, for example, be marked in color and/or have a structural or haptic design such as embossing, ribbing or nubs.
- the packaging must then be grasped again in order to empty the packaging interior. This may be the case, for example, if side flaps on the narrow sides have to be pressed together in order to move the packaging from its securing position to its removal position. However, in order to empty the packaging interior, it may then be provided that the side flaps on one narrow side have to be opened, which may make it necessary to grasp the packaging again. This further, additional handling step can further improve the tamper protection of the packaging against accidental operation by small children.
- these packaging sections are coupled to one another in terms of movement.
- the packaging according to the invention is in no way limited to the storage of packaged goods with pharmaceutical active ingredients, i.e. to drug packaging.
- any unit of packaged goods can be stored in a packaging according to the invention, which, for example, are so small that they are dangerous for small children due to their size and can be swallowed by small children.
- chewing gum or chewing tablets such as nicotine chewing gum, small electronic parts, spare parts, tool inserts, disposable dosing instruments, disposable needles and the like can also be stored securely in packaging according to the invention.
- the assignment of certain terms with regard to a location, a position or an orientation such as “horizontal”, “vertical”, “in the horizontal direction”, “in the vertical direction”, “top”, “bottom”, “inside”, “outside”, “front”, “underneath”, “above” etc. is chosen merely for the sake of simplicity and these details may relate to the representation in the drawings, but not necessarily to a use or storage position of the packaging according to the invention.
- the cover films of the blister cards to be protected are each oriented inwards towards the interior of the packaging, the undersides of the blister cards covered at least in sections with the cover films correspond to the insides of the blister cards in relation to the interior of the packaging.
- the at least one base card comprises a carrier film or is formed from a carrier film.
- the base card serves as mechanical protection for the blister card in order to protect the packaged goods or tablets from being accidentally removed as a result of the cover film being pressed through.
- at least one base card made of a carrier film or comprising such a carrier film can be movably attached to the blister card.
- This base card comprising a carrier film is configured to lie flat against the underside of the blister card in a securing position, at least in sections, and to secure the enclosed packaged goods against being accidentally removed and against the cover film being pressed through.
- the at least one blister card and the at least one base card can each be designed in the form of rectangles, wherein the base card is fastened to two opposite side edges or to two opposite edge sections of the long sides of the blister card.
- the blister cavities for receiving packaged goods units can be arranged in rows or in a matrix according to the size of the rectangular blister card.
- the at least one base card is also expediently designed in a rectangular shape and has essentially the same dimensions as the corresponding blister card for which the base card is intended to protect.
- the two cards are movably attached to one another along their opposite long sides. Depending on the design, the two cards can be attached to one another directly on their long side edges or along edge sections along their long side edges. Removal of the blisters already removed from the The removal of the packaged goods pressed out of the blister cavities from the packaging interior between the blister card and the corresponding base card takes place in the removal position of the packaging on one of its narrow sides.
- the at least one base card in a packaging, can be movably attached to two opposite edge sections of the blister card by means of connecting tabs, preferably with several serially arranged connecting webs.
- the interior of the packaging is laterally limited by the movable connecting tabs or connecting webs.
- These connecting tabs or connecting webs are arranged in such a way that they enable a reversible translational movement or relative movement in the longitudinal direction of the blister card and the corresponding base card between the securing position and the removal position of the packaging.
- At least one labelling tab can be attached to the blister card and/or the base card.
- the at least one label tab on the packaging means that the imprint, such as the product and/or company name of the packaged goods or the drug, is always easy to read.
- the label can also be in Braille, for example, so that blind or visually impaired people can see directly on the packaging which packaged product or drug it is, regardless of the number of dose units or packaged goods units that have already been removed.
- the label tab can be attached to one or both sides of the packaging.
- information on the removal intervals of the packaged dosage units can be printed on one or more label tabs that are directly connected to the blister card and/or the backing card.
- one or more label tabs are equipped with a printable or embossed design in order to be able to design the packaging with individual information on removal intervals.
- the at least one labelling tab is attached to a side edge or to an edge section of the blister card and projects beyond the blister card.
- the one or more protruding label tabs are not only particularly easy to read, but they can also be designed in such a way that these label tabs make it difficult for children to press the packaging together, i.e. to move it from the securing position to the removal position.
- This can be achieved, for example, by roughened and/or jagged sections on the outer edges of the labelling tabs, which are uncomfortable for small children to grasp with their small hands and which consequently prevent compression at these sections of the packaging.
- a packaging according to the invention can be designed to be particularly safe to use if the side of the packaging interior opposite the packaged goods removal opening can be closed with a closure tab.
- the packaged goods or a tablet can only be removed from the packaging interior through a packaged goods removal opening. Inadvertent removal or falling out of the packaged goods from the packaging interior can thus be successfully prevented.
- the at least one packaged goods removal opening of the packaging interior can be equipped with a closure flap that can be closed.
- the closure flap of the packaged goods removal opening must also be opened in order to be able to remove the packaged goods already located in the packaging interior from the packaging, which further increases the security against loss of the packaged goods.
- the at least one base card can be a further blister card with a carrier film, with at least one blister cavity for receiving packaged goods, in particular for receiving a pharmaceutical active ingredient formulation such as a tablet, and with a cover film, wherein the at least one further blister card is arranged such that its carrier film forms an outer surface of the packaging and its cover film is oriented towards the packaging interior.
- This packaging design offers the advantage that at least one further blister card is used as a base card to protect the at least one "first" blister card. At least two blister cards are thus arranged opposite one another and, in the securing position, protect each other's adjacent cover films against the packaged goods being accidentally pressed out of the blister cavities.
- This design is particularly economical because the further blister card in its function as a base card can be made of the same material or materials as the at least one "first" blister card.
- the blister cards connected to one another can, for example, be identical.
- a further advantage is offered by such packaging in which two or more blister cards are provided, since as many dosage units of the packaged goods as possible can be packed in the blister cards in a small packaging space.
- the blister cavities filled with packaged goods of two adjacent blister cards can be arranged congruently one above the other in the securing position.
- the blister cavities of two corresponding blister cards which lie against each other with their cover films in the securing position of the packaging, lie congruently one above the other.
- the blister cavities filled with packaged goods of two adjacent blister cards are arranged offset from one another.
- the packaged goods can also be safely protected against the cover films being accidentally pushed through.
- the packaging can be designed in the shape of a cushion, with the two outer surfaces of the packaging being formed either by a first blister card and a further blister card with goods to be packed filled in blister cavities or alternatively by a blister card and an opposing base card without goods to be packed, which are connected to one another at two opposite side edges of the blister card, with the side edges forming the long sides of the packaging, and oppositely overlapping closure tabs being attached to the opposite narrow sides of the blister cards.
- the oppositely overlapping closure tabs on the narrow sides of the packaging can advantageously serve as first and second packaging sections that are opposite one another and spaced apart from one another and that must be pressed together in opposite directions to fix the cushion-shaped packaging in its removal position.
- the packaging In the securing position, the packaging is essentially flat and the two outer surfaces or outer sides lie against one another with their inner sides.
- the closure tabs on the narrow sides of the packaging are also expediently cut to a correspondingly oval, rounded shape.
- Another elegant packaging variant according to the invention can be designed as a straight prism with an even number of outer surfaces, wherein the outer surfaces are formed by one or more blister cards with packaged goods filled in blister cavities or alternatively by at least one blister card and one or more base cards without packaged goods, which are connected in a row next to one another at their opposite side edges and form the long sides of the packaging.
- blister cards or alternatively base cards without packaging can be arranged in strips as the outer surfaces of a straight prism.
- the blister cards and/or base cards are connected to the adjacent blister cards and/or base cards at their long side edges.
- their long side edges can be designed as folded edges and/or have perforations to weaken the material of the carrier films.
- every second outer surface can be designed as a strip-shaped blister card with blister cavities, with the outer sides provided between two blister cards being designed as base cards without blister cavities.
- a distance between opposing packaging sections in the securing position can be greater than a distance between the same opposing packaging sections in the removal position.
- suitable dimensioning of the packaging dimensions can ensure that the distance between opposing packaging sections in the securing position, which must be compressed to transfer the packaging into the removal position, for example by moving, shifting, folding and/or pivoting, is sufficiently large so that these two packaging sections cannot be grasped by a small child's hand.
- the distance between opposing packaging sections in the securing position is at least 8 cm, preferably at least 10 cm.
- these securing distances in the securing position between the opposing packaging sections which must be pressed together in order to move the packaging into its removal position, appear to be large enough for small children's hands.
- senior citizens should be able to grasp these securing distances with the span of one hand.
- FIG. 1 to 7 Different designs of cushion-shaped packaging 1 are shown, each of which has two outer surfaces 2 or outer sides 2 of the packaging 1, which are connected to one another along the long sides 3 of the packaging 1.

- a cover film 30, for example made of aluminum, is applied to the underside 12 of the blister card 10, the cover film 30 having an exemplary film thickness 31 of approximately 20 ⁇ m (micrometers).
- the cover film 30 is connected to the carrier film 20 at least in sections, leaving the blister cavities 25 free.
- the cover film 30 is connected to the carrier film 20 by sealing or by gluing.
- An arrow 35 indicates the direction in which the cover film 30 is pressed through, in order to remove the tablets 41 located therein from the blister card 10 through the cover film 30 by applying pressure in the direction of the arrow 35 from above or from the outside onto the blister cavities 25 of the carrier film 20.
- the cover film 30 is destroyed in the process.
- a base card 50 is movably attached to two opposite side edges 15, 16 of the blister card 10 to protect the cover film 30 of the blister card 10.
- the first side edge 15 is here in the Figures 1 to 7 shown embodiments, a first longitudinal side edge 15 of the blister card 10.
- the second side edge 16 is a second longitudinal side edge 16 of the blister card 10.
- Closure tabs 60 are arranged on the narrow sides 4 of the packaging 1.
- Fig. 2A shows a packaging 1 according to the invention in cushion form, wherein in this packaging a blister card 10 with a row of blister cavities 25 for receiving tablets 41 is arranged on the top of the packaging and a base card 50 without blister cavities is provided on the bottom of the packaging.
- a securing position 70 of the packaging 1 the base card 50 lies on the underside 12 of the blister card 10 on the cover film 30 applied there.
- the base card 50 thus serves as a cover card to protect the sensitive cover film 30 on the underside 12 of the blister card 10.
- the base card 50 is made here from a carrier film 55, which is made here from the same material as the carrier film 20 of the blister card 10 and is connected to this carrier film 20 along the first longitudinal side edge 15 and along the second longitudinal side edge 16.
- the base card 50 has a top side 51 or outer side 51, which forms an outer surface 2 of the packaging 1.
- the base card 50 has a bottom side 52 opposite the top side 51, which forms an inner side 52 of the packaging.
- the base card 50 is made from a section of the carrier film 20 of the blister card 10 and thus the Carrier films of the blister card 10 and the base card 50 are connected to one another in one piece.
- the carrier film section which forms the base card 50 to protect the cover film 30 of the blister card 10 can, for example, be folded over at a side edge 15 of the blister card 10 to form a folding edge 22 and glued or welded to the carrier film 20 on the opposite side edge 16 of the blister card 10.
- Fig. 2B shows a side view of the narrow side 4 of the Fig.1 illustrated structure of this packaging 1, wherein a blister card 10 with blister cavities 25 for receiving tablets 41 is arranged on the top of the packaging and a further blister card 56 is provided on the bottom of the packaging as a base card 50.

- Fig.10 shows the long side of the Fig. 8 and Fig. 9 illustrated packaging 1 when transferred from the securing position 70 to the removal position 80 of the packaging 1.
- This direction of movement 95 which is caused by external force 90 by counter-current
- the pressing or moving of the elements 91, 92 by means of two fingers of one hand of the user is symbolized by the double arrow 95.
- Fig. 11 shows the long side of the Figures 8 to 10 illustrated packaging 1 in its compressed removal position 80.
- the upper blister card 10 is here spaced from the base card 50 to form a packaging interior 100.
- the Figures 12 to 15 relate to a further embodiment of a packaging 1 according to the invention in the form of a six-sided straight prism.
- Fig. 12 shows this packaging 1 according to the invention in the form of a six-sided straight prism in a flat, spread-out securing position 70.
- the long side edges are designed as folding edges 22.
- perforations 23 or weakening lines 23 can also be provided to weaken the material of the carrier films 20, 55.
- Fig. 13 shows this packaging 1 in its compressed removal position, whereby the view into the packaging interior 100 of the prism-shaped packaging 1 is released.
- Fig. 14 shows this packaging 1 with closure tabs 60 folded over on the narrow sides of the packaging 1.
- the packaging must be compressed at its long side edges 15, 16 in the pressure direction 140, symbolized by two opposing arrows 140.
- Fig. 15 shows in a side view the Figures 12 to 14 illustrated packaging in its compressed removal position 80.
- the two Figures 16 and 17 relate to a further embodiment of a packaging 1 according to the invention in the form of a blister card 10 and a base card 50, which is also designed as a further blister card 56.
- the two blister cards 10 and 56 lie congruently on top of each other in their securing position 70 and are connected along their two long side edges 15, 16 with labeling tabs 120, which form edge sections 17, 18 of the blister cards 10 and 56.
- Fig. 16 shows this packaging 1 according to the invention in its securing position 70.
- Fig. 17 shows in a side view the narrow side of the Fig. 16 illustrated packaging in its compressed removal position 80.
- the two labeling tabs 120 can be roughened, for example, so that they can be grasped and compressed more easily by the user.
- these label tabs 120 should be designed in such a way that they are perceived as unpleasant by small children when they touch them, by means of appropriate design measures such as comparatively sharp outer longitudinal edges. Small children are thus also prevented from squeezing the packaging 1 by pressing together the label tabs 120, which are perceived as unpleasant.
- the packages 1 shown here each comprise blister cards 10 or base cards 50 which have essentially rectangular contours.
- the invention is not limited to rectangular or strip-shaped blister cards 10 or base cards 50, but of course square, circular or elliptical blister cards 10 or base cards 50 can also be used for a package 1 according to the invention.
- FIG. 18 shows a further embodiment of a packaging 1 according to the invention in cushion form, the packaging 1 being shown here in its securing position 70.
- a removal opening 110 for the packaged goods is punched into the carrier film 20 located on top here.
- the base card 50 which is attached to the blister card 10 along two opposite long side edges 15, 16 and which in the securing position 70 rests on the underside 12 or on the inside of the blister card 10, is made from a section of the carrier film 20 of the blister card 10.
- the carrier films 20, 55 of the blister card 10 and the base card 50 are connected to one another in one piece.
- the blister card 10 located on top in the picture here has, for example, two rows of blister cavities 25 for receiving packaged goods 40. Specifically, for example, seven tablets 41 are packed in the top blister card 10.
- the removal opening 110 in the top carrier film 20 is punched out in a circle and is arranged on a corresponding section of the carrier film 20 of the blister card 10 before the two carrier films 20 and 55 are welded together to form a lateral labeling tab 120.
- the corresponding, opposite section of the carrier film 55 of the base card 50 is not punched or deformed in this embodiment.
- the removal opening 110 is advantageously positioned here such that a section of the punched-out removal opening 110, for example approximately half the cross section of the circular removal opening 110, is arranged in the area of the lateral labeling tab 120.
- the removal opening 110 is opened here in the form of approximately a semicircle adjacent to the labeling tab 120 in the area of the blister card 10. This has the advantage that the removal opening 110 is as small as possible in order to ensure the removal of only a single packaged item 40 or a single tablet 41.
- the edge of that half of the punched-out circular removal opening 110 which is welded to the carrier film 55 of the base card 50 in the area of the labeling tab 120 acts as a boundary edge for the removed packaged item 40.
- the removal opening 110 punched into the carrier film 20 can also deviate from a circular shape and be shaped, for example, in the form of a rectangle, a square, an ellipse or a polygonal curve.
- the portion of the removal opening 110 which, in the welded position of the finished packaging 1, comes to lie in the area of the labeling tab 120 and is therefore not available as a free cross-section for the actual removal of the packaged goods can vary.
- the removal opening 110 can be arranged entirely on that section of the carrier film 20 of the blister card 10 which does not form the labeling tab 120, but is actually available as a free removal cross-section with the packaging interior 100.
- FIG. 20 shows a detailed view from the front of a further embodiment of a packaging 1 according to the invention in cushion form, the packaging 1 being shown here in its removal position 80 and a removal opening 110 for the packaged goods 40 being punched into the top of the carrier film 20 of the blister card 10 shown above.
- both the labeling tab 120 protruding to the right in the picture and the closure tabs 60 on the opposite narrow sides 4 of the packaging 1 are provided with labels.
- the labels can, for example, be printed or glued directly onto the carrier films or onto the outer surfaces 2 of the packaging.
- the side closure tabs 60 on the narrow sides 4 are welded together along sections 61.
- the punched removal opening 110 is the only opening for removing the packaged goods in this embodiment.
- Fig. 21 shows a detail of a further embodiment of a packaging 1 according to the invention in cushion form, wherein a removal opening 110 for the packaged goods 40 is punched into the carrier film 20 of the blister card 10, which is located on top here.
- the section of the opposite, lower carrier film 55 of the base card 50, which corresponds to the removal opening 110 in the carrier film 20, is deep-drawn here and advantageously forms a chute for the packaged goods 40.
- the removal opening 110 is advantageously positioned such that approximately half of the punched-out removal opening 110 is arranged in the region of the lateral labeling tab 120.
- a single packaged item 40 for example a tablet 41, can only be removed from the removal opening 110 individually and in the process reaches the deep-drawn section of the carrier film 55 in the area of the labeling tab 120, which acts like a chute or slide for the individual packaged item 40.
- the edge of the deep-drawn recess of the lower carrier film 55 acts like a weir for the packaged item 40 and prevents the unintentional loss of the removed packaged item 40 during removal before it is grasped by the user.
- Fig. 22 shows an oblique view of a detail of another embodiment of a packaging 1 according to the invention in cushion form, which is illustrated in its removal position 80.
- Both carrier films 20, 55 lying opposite one another are punched through here after the laminating of the labeling tab 110.
- the removal opening 110 is positioned in such a way that a section of the punched-out removal opening 110, for example half of the circular removal opening 110, is arranged in the area of the lateral labeling tab 120.
- the removal opening 110 obtained by punching through both carrier films 20, 55 thus offers the advantage that the free longitudinal edge of the labeling tab 120 is also continuous in the area of the removal opening. This ensures that in the removal position 80 only a single packaged item 40 or a single tablet 41 can be removed from the packaging 1 through the removal opening 110.
- the continuous free longitudinal edge of the label tab 120 acts like a bracket for the packaged goods 40 or the tablet 41 that is currently located within the removal opening 110. Depending on the selected position and the portion of the removal opening 110 that is positioned in the area of the label tab 120, an unwanted falling out of the packaged goods 40 from the removal opening 110 can thus be prevented.
- the continuous free longitudinal edge of the label tab 120 is designed here, for example, to be jagged or have a rough structure, which is perceived as unpleasant by children, especially when they grasp it.
- Fig. 23 illustrates in a side view a further embodiment of a packaging 1 according to the invention in cushion form, wherein on the labeling tab 120 a fold-out information leaflet 121 is attached.
- the information leaflet 121 is here, for example, securely glued to the label tab 120 by means of an adhesive film and folded out like an accordion.
- Fig. 23 shows the package insert 121 already unfolded.
- Fig. 24 shows a front view of a further embodiment of a packaging 1 according to the invention in cushion form, wherein the packaging 1 is shown in its securing position 70 and the labeling tab 120 is equipped with a tear-off removal lock 125.
- the removal lock 125 serves to ensure that the packaging 1 is secured in its securing position 70 until the removal lock 125 is removed or opened.
- the labeling tab 120 has perforations 23 or weakening lines 23 of the carrier films 20, 55 in the connection area along the long side edge 16 of the blister card 10 or the base card 50 arranged underneath, which extend from the opposite narrow sides 4 of the packaging 1 along a section of the long side edge 16.
- the two outer wings or sections of the labeling tab 120 can be removed after tearing open the perforations 23 along the long side edge 16 by further tearing along weakening lines 23, which run, for example, obliquely in the direction of the free long edge of the labeling tab 120.
- the label tab 120 has a hanging opening 126 approximately in its longitudinal center, which serves for hanging the packaging 1, for example, on a sales stand.
- Fig. 25 shows a detailed view of a further embodiment of a packaging 1 according to the invention in cushion form, wherein the packaging 1 is shown in its removal position 80 and a removal opening 110 for the packaged goods is punched into the upper carrier film 20 on the top of the packaging.
- the removal opening 110 is advantageously arranged transversely to the longitudinal direction of the packaging and has, for example, an approximately rectangular contour.
- the removal opening 110 is only punched out of the carrier film 20 along three sides, maintaining an edge distance.
- the fourth side preferably a long side of the rectangular contour, is not punched out. or punched through, but is merely processed to form a weakening line 23 or a perforation line 23 of the carrier film 20.
- the contour along this fourth side can also be provided with a folding edge 22.
- a movable, foldable closure tab 60 thus remains within the removal opening 110, which remains connected along one side of the removal opening 110 to the adjacent carrier film 20 to form a folding edge 22 and/or a perforation line 23. This foldable closure tab 60 ensures that the removal opening 110 is closed when the packaging 1 is in its securing position 70.
- the removal opening 110 punched into the upper carrier film 20 opens and the foldable closure flap 60 folds inwards along the weakening line 23 or perforation 23 and/or the fold edge 22 into the packaging interior 100 and thus automatically releases the removal opening 110.

According to DIN EN 14375 in its current version from September 2016, non-resealable packaging for pharmaceutical products in Europe is considered "child-resistant" if at least 85% of a test group of small children aged 42 to 51 months are unable to gain access to more than eight of at least ten dose units presented, such as tablets, capsules or dragees, within ten minutes. The packaging is considered senior-friendly if at least 90% of a test group of adults gain access to at least one of the dose units in the one-minute test.
However, the regulations in the USA, which are laid down in the Poisons Prevention Packaging Act (PPPA), are comparatively much stricter. There, children are not allowed to gain access to a dose that could cause serious harm if the packaging is "child-resistant". In extreme cases, this can be possible even if just one tablet or dosage unit is removed.

The disadvantage of these known types of tear-open packaging is that the production of films with tear-open sections, which are usually designed as metal foils, is complex. Furthermore, with such tear-open packaging, it cannot be ruled out that small children could take out several dosage units at once, which is why such tear-open packaging is not considered "child-resistant", at least in the USA.

Even with wallet packaging of this kind, it is not impossible that small children can remove several dosage units from the blister cards inside after opening the outer folding box. In addition, the production of such multi-layer packaging with different packaging materials is complex.
Blister packaging for medicines such as tablets, capsules and dragees has been around for a long time and must be visually appealing and safe to use. The term blister packaging usually refers to visible packaging, i.e. product packaging that allows the customer or buyer to see the packaged goods.
Blister packs are widely used to package pharmaceutical active ingredient formulations such as tablets. Such packaging is also called push-through packaging and is usually produced in strip or card form. A blister card or blister strip usually comprises two films, one of which is a carrier film, usually made of transparent plastic.
Such blister packs offer several advantages over glass or plastic bottles.
In addition to the primary packaging task, blister packs that are "child-resistant" must also be designed to be suitable for seniors, although the requirements of these two user groups are contradictory to one another. Child-resistant packaging to protect small children can, on the other hand, represent an insurmountable obstacle for seniors.
For example, so-called "peel-push blisters" are used, in which blister packs are additionally equipped with peelable (peelable) safety films that are "child-resistant". The peelable films must first be peeled off the cover films as a push-through protection before the corresponding dose can be pushed out of the packaging through the cover film. However, older people often find it difficult to grasp and remove such peelable safety films.
Another disadvantage of blister packs known to date is that blind people cannot distinguish which medication is being packaged based on the blister card. However, this problem does not only affect blind or visually impaired people. The product and company name of the medication is usually printed on the sealing layer of a blister card, i.e. on the cover foil, which is usually an aluminum foil. As soon as several dose units of the blister card are broken off by pressing through the Once the cover foil has been removed, the imprint with the name of the medicinal product is usually no longer or only with difficulty recognizable, which increases the risk of unwanted confusion.
Another disadvantage of conventional blister packs is that the dosage units are usually pushed out of the blister pack into the patient's hand or onto a surface such as a table top. One or more dosage units removed, such as tablets, can accidentally fall to the floor, which is particularly problematic for older people. In addition, manual removal is usually not hygienic. This is particularly true for people who have to take tablets at certain intervals during their working hours and who cannot wash their hands every time. Examples include construction workers or tradesmen, who may have to remove and handle tablets from conventional medicine packaging with dirty hands.

It is therefore the object of the present invention to provide a child-resistant packaging, in particular a child-resistant pharmaceutical packaging, which is at the same time also senior-friendly and avoids the described disadvantages of the prior art.
This object is achieved in a child-resistant packaging according to the preamble of
In a child-resistant packaging according to the invention, in particular in a pharmaceutical packaging according to the invention, which comprises at least one blister card, wherein the blister card comprises two films, of which one film is designed as a carrier film with at least one blister cavity for receiving packaged goods, in particular for receiving a pharmaceutical active ingredient formulation such as a tablet, and forms an upper side of the blister card, and the other film is designed as a push-through cover film, wherein the cover film is at least partially connected to the carrier film, leaving the at least one blister cavity free, and at least partially forms an underside of the blister card opposite the upper side, and the cover film closes at least one blister cavity filled with packaged goods, at least one base card is movably attached to two opposite side edges or to two opposite edge sections of the blister card and this base card is configured to lie flat against the underside of the blister card at least partially in a securing position and to secure the enclosed packaged goods against unintentional removal and against the cover film being pushed through, where the backing card by an external force by means of counter-current By pressing together two packaging sections which are opposite one another and spaced apart from one another, the packaging section can be reversibly transferred from the securing position into a removal position, wherein during the removal position fixed by external force, the at least one base card is spaced from the underside of the blister card to form a packaging interior having at least one packaged goods removal opening, wherein in the removal position the packaged goods can be released into the packaging interior by pressing through the cover film and can be removed from the packaging interior through the at least one packaged goods removal opening.
Knicksteifigkeit aufweist. The carrier film of the blister card has one or more fold edges and/or perforations as weakening lines so that it can be folded, folded or curved along these defined edges or weakening lines.
With such packaging, it is advantageous that children are prevented from accessing the packaged goods, in particular a packaged pharmaceutical active ingredient formulation such as a tablet, because the packaging is designed in such a way that small children cannot grasp the opposing packaging sections, which have to be pressed together in opposite directions with one hand to transfer the packaging from the securing position to the removal position. To this end, the two opposing packaging sections that have to be pressed together are advantageously too far apart for a small child to be able to do this with one hand. The packaging is designed in such a way that it is only sufficiently rigid in the removal position, which is fixed by opposite-directed compression during the application of external force, so that in this removal position the packaged goods or a tablet can be removed from a blister cavity by pushing through the cover film of the blister card. This means that the packaging must be operated with both hands at the same time. With one hand, the packaging must be brought into the removal position by squeezing it together and fixed in this position in order to be able to simultaneously push one or more packaged goods units from the corresponding blister cavities into the interior of the packaging with the other free hand.
Two movements must therefore be carried out simultaneously, which is practically impossible for small children in the test age of 42 to 51 months specified in DIN EN 14375 due to their motor skills and the size of their children's hands. By selecting the appropriate distances between the pressure points on the opposite packaging sections, which must be pressed together with one hand to reversibly fix the removal position in order to be able to push the packaged goods out of the blister card with the other hand at the same time, certain age groups of small children can be reliably prevented from accessing the packaging contents or the packaged goods, depending on individual requirements. When designing the packaging according to the invention, it must therefore be ensured that the distances between the pressure points on the opposite packaging sections in order to press them together are sufficiently far apart so that children's hands cannot press them together with one hand.
The packaging according to the invention can be adapted particularly flexibly to the applicable safety regulations by a suitable choice of these dimensions, i.e. the distances between the pressure points on the opposite packaging sections of the packaging according to the invention, as well as by a suitable selection of known blister cover films with which the push-through force for pushing through or removing the packaged goods can be varied. For example, it is possible to design the packaging according to the invention for child-resistant packaging in accordance with the current requirements of the PPPA in the USA in such a way that small children cannot open this packaging with their hands alone without the aid of external tools. At the same time, however, tests with prototypes of the packaging according to the invention have shown that senior citizens in nursing homes as test subjects had no problems grasping and squeezing the packaging with one hand in such a way that it was fixed in its removal position and the senior citizens could remove individual tablets from the blister cards of the packaging with the other hand in the usual way. Furthermore, the term blister card chosen here is to be understood as synonymous with the equally common term blister strip as blister packaging for individual packaging units such as tablets.
Depending on the material selection and layer structure of the blister cover foils, it is possible, for example, to vary the push-through force for pushing through or removing the packaged goods in a range between about 20 N and 120 N. These push-through forces were determined in tests with a so-called Pharma Pin with a diameter of 10.5 mm. Depending on the product to be packaged or the risk potential of the pharmaceutical active ingredients in the packaged goods, at least two parameters are available for the particularly flexible and individual design of a safety-compliant packaging according to the invention.
In principle, all materials known from the state of the art can be used as blister films. The carrier film and the cover film can be made up of one or more layers. The cover film is sealed to the carrier film, for example by gluing, welding or sealing. Typical materials for the carrier film include plastics such as polyamide (PA), polyester (UP), polycarbonate (PC), polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or corresponding copolymers. For example, composite materials such as one or more plastic films with paper or cardboard layers can also be used as carrier films. Metal foils such as aluminum foils or aluminum composite films made from aluminum and, for example, a plastic are used as cover films. Composite films vapor-coated with aluminum or laminated paper films can also be used as cover films.
The at least one base card, which acts as a child-resistant removal protection in the secured position of the packaging on the underside of the at least one or more blister cards filled with packaged goods, can optionally be made up of one or more layers. The base card can expediently be made up of the same material or - in the case of a multi-layered structure - of the same materials from which the at least one blister card is made. It is also possible within the scope of the invention for the base card to be made up of a different material than the materials used to construct the blister cards.
In a simple embodiment, a single-layer or single-ply reinforcement layer, for example made of a transparent plastic with appropriate rigidity, can be used as the base card. The base card can also be designed as a multi-layer reinforcement plate within the scope of the invention.
In another preferred embodiment, the base card can also be another blister card, which is arranged opposite to the first blister card and is movably attached to the blister card, and in which the push-through cover films are oriented towards each other towards an inner packaging space. Thus, robust carrier films are arranged on the outside of the packaging on its outer surfaces, which protect the packaged goods from the outside.
In the context of the invention, the term “backing card” is understood to mean, depending on the design of the packaging, a flat reinforcing layer or reinforcing plate of approximately the same size as one or more blister cards, which can be constructed in one or more layers. A backing card can, for example, consist of a carrier film, which can also provided for in the blister card, or can optionally be a blister card itself with the corresponding blister cavities for receiving packaged goods.
The backing card serves as a backing or protective means to protect the cover film of the blister card and is intended to prevent the cover film of the blister card from being pushed through or damaged in the securing position of the packaging. The backing card therefore acts like a cover card to cover or protect the opposite cover film on the underside of the blister card assigned to it. In contrast to the previously mentioned known removable (peelable) security films, which are glued directly onto cover films to protect them and must be removed from these cover films again, the backing card forms a separate section of the packaging from the cover film of the opposite blister card assigned to it that is to be protected. In the securing position, the backing card rests against the cover film arranged opposite to protect it, but does not adhere to it. The backing card can be moved, shifted, pivoted, folded and/or swiveled into a position spaced apart from the cover film by appropriate compression in the removal position of the packaging - depending on the design of the packaging. Advantageously, this does not require the backing card to be peeled off or removed from the cover film. The inner packaging space, which is enclosed by one or more blister cards and one or more backing cards, offers the advantage that packaged goods such as a tablet, which has been pressed out of the corresponding blister cavity in the fixed removal position by pushing through the cover film, first reach the packaging interior of the packaging and can be removed from the packaging interior through a removal opening.
This advantageously avoids having to press a tablet from a conventional blister pack onto an external surface such as a table, where it could get lost. Furthermore, by designing the opening for removing the packaged goods, it can be designed in such a way that, for example, a tablet can be poured from the inside of the packaging directly into the patient's mouth without having to be handled by hand.
According to the invention, the base card can be reversibly moved from the securing position to a removal position by applying an external force by means of opposing compression of two packaging sections that are opposite and spaced apart from one another. This means that the packaging is designed in such a way that at least one base card can be moved by itself or in combination with at least one corresponding blister card or with other base cards by applying an external force by compression using one hand. The operator who wants to open the packaging can move it from the securing position to the removal position. This movement transition is to be understood as a reversible back and forth movement between the securing position - without external force acting on the packaging sections that are spaced apart from one another - and the removal position - during external force acting on the packaging sections that are spaced apart from one another. Depending on the design and application of the packaging, the two corresponding packaging sections that are opposite one another and spaced apart from one another can, for example, be marked in color and/or have a structural or haptic design such as embossing, ribbing or nubs.
Depending on the design and construction of the packaging, it may be necessary that after a dosage unit of the packaged goods has been pushed through into the packaging interior, whereby the packaging is secured in its removal position by pressing it together, the packaging must then be grasped again in order to empty the packaging interior.
By the movable fastening of at least one base card to two opposite side edges or to two opposite edge sections of the blister card, these packaging sections are coupled to one another in terms of movement.
The packaging according to the invention is in no way limited to the storage of packaged goods with pharmaceutical active ingredients, i.e. to drug packaging. Likewise, any unit of packaged goods can be stored in a packaging according to the invention, which, for example, are so small that they are dangerous for small children due to their size and can be swallowed by small children. By way of example, in addition to nutritional supplements, chewing gum or chewing tablets such as nicotine chewing gum, small electronic parts, spare parts, tool inserts, disposable dosing instruments, disposable needles and the like can also be stored securely in packaging according to the invention. For example, it can be advantageous if spare parts for e-cigarettes or LED lights, which are very small and can be swallowed by small children, are stored in a child-proof packaging according to the invention.
Furthermore, in the description, the assignment of certain terms with regard to a location, a position or an orientation, such as "horizontal", "vertical", "in the horizontal direction", "in the vertical direction", "top", "bottom", "inside", "outside", "front", "underneath", "above" etc. is chosen merely for the sake of simplicity and these details may relate to the representation in the drawings, but not necessarily to a use or storage position of the packaging according to the invention. In order to clarify that in the intended use of the packaging according to the invention, the cover films of the blister cards to be protected are each oriented inwards towards the interior of the packaging, the undersides of the blister cards covered at least in sections with the cover films correspond to the insides of the blister cards in relation to the interior of the packaging.
It can be particularly expedient if, in a packaging according to the invention, the at least one base card comprises a carrier film or is formed from a carrier film.
As already mentioned, the base card serves as mechanical protection for the blister card in order to protect the packaged goods or tablets from being accidentally removed as a result of the cover film being pressed through. For this purpose, in a particularly simple and cost-effective embodiment of the invention, at least one base card made of a carrier film or comprising such a carrier film can be movably attached to the blister card. This base card comprising a carrier film is configured to lie flat against the underside of the blister card in a securing position, at least in sections, and to secure the enclosed packaged goods against being accidentally removed and against the cover film being pressed through.
Particularly advantageously, in a packaging according to the invention, the at least one blister card and the at least one base card can each be designed in the form of rectangles, wherein the base card is fastened to two opposite side edges or to two opposite edge sections of the long sides of the blister card.
In this variant of the invention, the blister cavities for receiving packaged goods units can be arranged in rows or in a matrix according to the size of the rectangular blister card. The at least one base card is also expediently designed in a rectangular shape and has essentially the same dimensions as the corresponding blister card for which the base card is intended to protect. The two cards are movably attached to one another along their opposite long sides.
In an advantageous development of the invention, in a packaging, the at least one base card can be movably attached to two opposite edge sections of the blister card by means of connecting tabs, preferably with several serially arranged connecting webs.
In this design, the interior of the packaging is laterally limited by the movable connecting tabs or connecting webs. These connecting tabs or connecting webs are arranged in such a way that they enable a reversible translational movement or relative movement in the longitudinal direction of the blister card and the corresponding base card between the securing position and the removal position of the packaging.
Particularly advantageously, in a packaging according to the invention, at least one labelling tab can be attached to the blister card and/or the base card.
The at least one label tab on the packaging means that the imprint, such as the product and/or company name of the packaged goods or the drug, is always easy to read. The label can also be in Braille, for example, so that blind or visually impaired people can see directly on the packaging which packaged product or drug it is, regardless of the number of dose units or packaged goods units that have already been removed. The label tab can be attached to one or both sides of the packaging.
For example, information on the removal intervals of the packaged dosage units can be printed on one or more label tabs that are directly connected to the blister card and/or the backing card.
It is also provided within the scope of the invention that one or more label tabs are equipped with a printable or embossed design in order to be able to design the packaging with individual information on removal intervals.
It can be advantageous if, in a packaging according to the invention, the at least one labelling tab is attached to a side edge or to an edge section of the blister card and projects beyond the blister card.
In this design, the one or more protruding label tabs are not only particularly easy to read, but they can also be designed in such a way that these label tabs make it difficult for children to press the packaging together, i.e. to move it from the securing position to the removal position. This can be achieved, for example, by roughened and/or jagged sections on the outer edges of the labelling tabs, which are uncomfortable for small children to grasp with their small hands and which consequently prevent compression at these sections of the packaging.
A packaging according to the invention can be designed to be particularly safe to use if the side of the packaging interior opposite the packaged goods removal opening can be closed with a closure tab.
In this design variant, the packaged goods or a tablet can only be removed from the packaging interior through a packaged goods removal opening. Inadvertent removal or falling out of the packaged goods from the packaging interior can thus be successfully prevented.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the packaging according to the invention, the at least one packaged goods removal opening of the packaging interior can be equipped with a closure flap that can be closed. In this version of the packaging, the closure flap of the packaged goods removal opening must also be opened in order to be able to remove the packaged goods already located in the packaging interior from the packaging, which further increases the security against loss of the packaged goods.
Particularly expediently, in a packaging according to the invention, the at least one base card can be a further blister card with a carrier film, with at least one blister cavity for receiving packaged goods, in particular for receiving a pharmaceutical active ingredient formulation such as a tablet, and with a cover film, wherein the at least one further blister card is arranged such that its carrier film forms an outer surface of the packaging and its cover film is oriented towards the packaging interior.
This packaging design offers the advantage that at least one further blister card is used as a base card to protect the at least one "first" blister card. At least two blister cards are thus arranged opposite one another and, in the securing position, protect each other's adjacent cover films against the packaged goods being accidentally pressed out of the blister cavities. This design is particularly economical because the further blister card in its function as a base card can be made of the same material or materials as the at least one "first" blister card. Depending on the design of the packaging according to the invention, it is possible that no preferred arrangement or position of the at least one "first" blister card and the one or more further blister cards that serve as base cards can be recognized on the packaging. In this preferred design, the blister cards connected to one another can, for example, be identical. and/or arranged symmetrically with respect to a packaging axis and/or a packaging plane. A further advantage is offered by such packaging in which two or more blister cards are provided, since as many dosage units of the packaged goods as possible can be packed in the blister cards in a small packaging space.
In a packaging according to the invention, the blister cavities filled with packaged goods of two adjacent blister cards can be arranged congruently one above the other in the securing position. In this embodiment, the blister cavities of two corresponding blister cards, which lie against each other with their cover films in the securing position of the packaging, lie congruently one above the other. In this design of the packaging, a particularly secure storage of the packaged goods, which is protected against the cover films being accidentally pushed through, can be made possible.
Alternatively, within the scope of the invention, it can also be provided that in the securing position the blister cavities filled with packaged goods of two adjacent blister cards are arranged offset from one another. In this design of the packaging, the packaged goods can also be safely protected against the cover films being accidentally pushed through.
In a particularly elegant embodiment of the packaging according to the invention, the packaging can be designed in the shape of a cushion, with the two outer surfaces of the packaging being formed either by a first blister card and a further blister card with goods to be packed filled in blister cavities or alternatively by a blister card and an opposing base card without goods to be packed, which are connected to one another at two opposite side edges of the blister card, with the side edges forming the long sides of the packaging, and oppositely overlapping closure tabs being attached to the opposite narrow sides of the blister cards.
The oppositely overlapping closure tabs on the narrow sides of the packaging can advantageously serve as first and second packaging sections that are opposite one another and spaced apart from one another and that must be pressed together in opposite directions to fix the cushion-shaped packaging in its removal position. In the securing position, the packaging is essentially flat and the two outer surfaces or outer sides lie against one another with their inner sides. By pressing the narrow sides of the packaging together, it bulges up in a cushion-like manner and, in the removal position, forms a packaging interior that has an approximately oval cross-section. The closure tabs on the narrow sides of the packaging are also expediently cut to a correspondingly oval, rounded shape.
Another elegant packaging variant according to the invention can be designed as a straight prism with an even number of outer surfaces, wherein the outer surfaces are formed by one or more blister cards with packaged goods filled in blister cavities or alternatively by at least one blister card and one or more base cards without packaged goods, which are connected in a row next to one another at their opposite side edges and form the long sides of the packaging.
For example, four, six or eight blister cards or alternatively base cards without packaging can be arranged in strips as the outer surfaces of a straight prism. The blister cards and/or base cards are connected to the adjacent blister cards and/or base cards at their long side edges. To increase the mobility of the blister cards and/or base cards arranged next to each other in strips, their long side edges can be designed as folded edges and/or have perforations to weaken the material of the carrier films.
Depending on the packaging requirements, individual, several or even all of the outer surfaces of the packaging prism can be designed as blister cards and have the same or different number of blister cavities. For example, in a six-sided prism, every second outer surface can be designed as a strip-shaped blister card with blister cavities, with the outer sides provided between two blister cards being designed as base cards without blister cavities.
Particularly advantageously, in a packaging according to the invention, a distance between opposing packaging sections in the securing position can be greater than a distance between the same opposing packaging sections in the removal position. As already stated above, suitable dimensioning of the packaging dimensions can ensure that the distance between opposing packaging sections in the securing position, which must be compressed to transfer the packaging into the removal position, for example by moving, shifting, folding and/or pivoting, is sufficiently large so that these two packaging sections cannot be grasped by a small child's hand.
Since in this design variant the distance between the same opposing packaging sections in the removal position is smaller than in the securing position, even senior citizens or blind or visually impaired people can easily see which of the two reversible positions the packaging is currently in. This advantageously further increases the user-friendliness of the packaging.
For example, it may be appropriate for child-resistant packaging if the distance between opposing packaging sections in the securing position is at least 8 cm, preferably at least 10 cm. According to the applicant's current knowledge, these securing distances in the securing position between the opposing packaging sections, which must be pressed together in order to move the packaging into its removal position, appear to be large enough for small children's hands. However, senior citizens should be able to grasp these securing distances with the span of one hand.

The following general description of the figures generally applies to all of the figures shown. The same reference numerals are used below for the different embodiments for identical or comparable elements of the packaging.

Within the scope of the invention, it is also provided that, for example, the
In this
The opened

The

A single packaged item 40, for example a
