Description

The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for bundling rods, tubes, profiles and other elongated objects.

Pressed or subsequently drawn profiles are usually packed into handy bundles in the cut state and transported to the consumer. It is essential in this transport that, in particular if bright-drawn profiles are to be shipped, each individual profile is held immovably in the bundle in the longitudinal direction, since otherwise undesirable damage to the surface or metals prone to cold welding result in cold welded connections.

To solve these problems, several turns of adhesive tape with paper backing have been applied around the bundles at a certain distance from one another. Another way of working envisaged applying plastic holding straps at a certain axial distance by wrapping them around. Both solutions have in common that they are either very cost-intensive or that expensive machines are required and that they are difficult to integrate economically into a continuously running work process. In addition, the relatively thin adhesive tapes or plastic tapes are susceptible to damage.

The invention has for its object to provide a method with which it is possible to bundle rods, tubes, profiles, etc. in a continuous work process in an economical manner, in such a way that each rod, each tube or profile in a longitudinal axial Direction is held immovably in the bundle and that the means holding the bundle together are almost insensitive to mechanical damage, but can nevertheless be easily separated by the consumer of the rods using a tool.

This object is achieved in that at least two rings made of a resilient material are spread apart on a mandrel, that the pre-bundled rods, tubes, profiles etc. are passed through the opening of the rings or the rings in the spread state the pre-bundled rods, tubes, profiles etc. are moved in the longitudinal axial direction surrounding and that a ring is pulled off the mandrel at predetermined intervals and thereby stretched around the bundle. Rings made of a rubber-elastic material can be used with particular advantage in this process. The material mentioned has a high elongation and can therefore be spread apart without damage. Rings with a wall cross-section flattened in the direction of their longitudinal axis should be used. This has the advantage that the rings, which are disposable packaging, are relatively cheaply available on the market. Another advantage is that the rings are relatively immobile on the bundle. So that the rings can be easily removed from the mandrel, it has proven to be advantageous to coat the rings with a lubricant, for example talcum powder, at least in the region of their inner bore. Another equally advantageous solution is to use rings with a round wall cross section. These rings can be easily stripped from the mandrel without further aids and have the further advantage that they can roll on the surface of the bundle in the axial direction in the event of force and thus prevent mechanical damage to the rings. In order to distribute the force exerted by the prestressed rings as evenly as possible over the length of the bundle, it has proven to be expedient to clamp the rings onto the bundle with the same axial distance from one another. If the rings located on the expanded mandrel are pulled off by a stripping device for the rings surrounding the mandrel, it has proven to be expedient for one ring in each case to be pulled off the mandrel by displacing the mandrel and / or the stripping device. This method of operation enables the rings to be applied to the bundle with virtually no damage. Since there are expediently a plurality of rings on the mandrel at the same time, it is advantageous if all the rings on the mandrel are displaced by the same path and in the same direction as the ring to be stripped off during the stripping process. Only a ring slips off the mandrel.

To carry out the method according to the teaching of the invention, a device has proven to be expedient, in which two coaxial ring disks are provided with a central bore for the passage of the bundle, which are connected to one another by at least three screws, the screws in one Washer, which is rotatable, are guided in longitudinal holes. At least three segments are arranged between the disks at the same distance from the bore and can be moved in the direction of the elongated holes by rotating the rotatable annular disk via pins guided in corresponding elongated holes at an angle to the radial. Each segment has an axially extending claw, the length of which corresponds at least to the sum of the individual widths of the rings. Furthermore, a stripping device concentrically surrounding the claws is provided. The ring disks and / or this stripping device can be displaced relative to one another in the longitudinal axial direction. In a device of this type, it has proven particularly favorable that the stripping device is fixed and the ring disks can be driven via a hydraulic cylinder. The rotating ring disk should also be drivable via a hydraulic cylinder. The stripping device expediently consists of a piece of pipe, in the inner wall of which stripping rings with different inner diameters are incorporated, which increase in the direction of the ring disks. With the appropriate stroke setting, this version allows only one ring to be pulled off, while the other rings are transported by the same value in the same direction. In order to simplify this process, the claws are designed in a stepped manner on their outer surface receiving the rings in accordance with the wiper rings.

The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the exemplary embodiments shown schematically in FIGS. 1 to 8.

The tubes 1 processed on a drawing or straightening machine, not shown, are placed on a vibrating table 2 by means of a crane, not shown. The vibrating table 2 separates the tubes via the vibrators 3, so that they fall into a tipping channel 4, which is installed on a scale 5. The vibrating table 2 is switched off via an adjustable weight contact. The tipping channel 4 transfers the tubes 1 to be bundled to a V-shaped roller conveyor 6. With a driven collar slide 7, the tubes 1 are pushed through a bundle pliers 8 which will be described in more detail later and which applies rubber rings to the bundled tubes 1 at a certain axial distance. Behind the bundle tongs 8, the bundle 9 is conveyed onto an interrupted conveyor belt 10 against the stop 11. By means of the ejector 12, the bundle 9 is placed in a V-groove 13 and the cylinders 14 and 15 are just pushed against the end face. Another ejector 16 lifts the bundle 9 into a collecting stanchion 18 or a box installed on a scale 17.

The bundle pliers 8 essentially consist of two washers 19 and 20 which are guided against one another by screws 21. While the washer 19 is permanently installed, the washer 20 is rotatable, the shafts of the screws 21 being guided in the longitudinal holes 22. A plurality of segments 23 are arranged between the two annular disks 19 and 20, each of which carries a claw 24. In the annular disc 20 are at an angle to the radial longitudinal slots 25 are introduced, engage in the attached to each segment 23 pins 26, so that the segments move evenly in the direction of the elongated holes 25 when the ring disc 20 is rotated. The rotation of the ring disk 20 takes place via a hydraulic cylinder 27 which is connected to the ring disk 19 via the arm 28 and to the ring disk 20 via the arm 29. When the hydraulic cylinder 27 is actuated, the distance between the individual segments 23 and thus also between the individual claws 24 changes. The claws 24 are surrounded by a tube piece 30, in the inner wall of which wiper rings 31 are incorporated. The web height of the scraper rings 31 is different and decreases in the direction of the ring disk 19. Corresponding paragraphs 32 are incorporated into the claws 24. A number of rubber rings 33 are attached to the claws 24, which are required for holding the tubes 1 in a bundle 9. While a bundle 9 passes through the interior of the bundle tongs 8, the bundle tongs are moved at predetermined times via hydraulic cylinders (not shown) in the opposite direction to the direction of movement of the bundle 9 by a value which corresponds at least to the extent of the rings 33 in the direction of travel of the bundles 9. The ring 33 located on the last step 32 of the claw 24 is stripped off and clamps onto the bundle 9. The triggering of the contact for the stroke adjustment for the bundle pliers takes place by approaching limit switches, not shown, of the collar slide shown in FIG. Once all the rings 33 have been applied to the corresponding bundle 9, the bundle pliers are transported back to their starting position and the claws 24 are brought closer to one another and new rings 33 are attached.

The rings 33, which are rectangular in their wall cross section but can also be circular, have a thin talcum layer on their inner wall in contact with the claws 24 in order to facilitate the stripping process.

Die Figuren 7 und 8 zeigen ein fertiges Bündel 9, mit den darauf befindlichen Gummiringen 33.FIGS. 7 and 8 show a finished bundle 9 with the rubber rings 33 located thereon.
