Abstract
В способе датирования картин, в частности из последних двух столетий, детектируют изотопы выбранного элемента, которые находятся в живых растениях, и используются для приготовления связующих средств художественной краски. При детектировании должна быть определена только относительная концентрация двух изотопов в отношении друг к другу. Один из них может быть радиоактивным, надлежащим образом имеющим период полураспада меньше чем, например, 1000 лет. Для точного определения могут быть использованы даже изотопы, имеющие более короткие периоды полураспада. Для датирования картин, предположительно сделанных в 20-ом столетии, например, могут быть применены изотопыSr иSr илиCs иCs, чтобы решить, была ли сделана картина до или после середины названного столетия.
