Abstract

The invention relates to medicine, in particular, to dermatology, and concerns provision of a natural medicinal product based on herbal raw materials, and can be used to treat vitiligo. Vitiligo is caused by changes in the exchange of melatonin skin pigment. The objective of the proposed invention is to provide a combination of components that are well-proven in the traditional medicine and possess certain properties in dosages ensuring maximum efficacy, safety, and usability for consumers. This objective is attained by treating vitiligo through oral administration of the herbal raw material based tincture comprising touch-and-heal herb, pot marigold flowers, bidens herb, large ammi herb, green pericarp and leaves of walnut, leaves of pot marigold, balm herb taken in equal quantities, and purified water warmed to 50°C used as an extraction agent; wherein, according to the invention, vitiligo is treated by applying to vitiligo spots a lotion based on oil emulsion comprising olive oil with 20% water-alcohol infusion of walnut leaves, large ammi herb and balm herb taken in a ratio of 1:1:1, at a herb repertory to olive oil ratio of 1:2.

The invention relates to medicine, namely to dermatology, and concerns the creation of a product of natural origin based on plant materials and can be used to treat vitiligo.

Vitiligo is a disease from the group of skin dyschromias, which is characterized by the development of depigmented white spots due to the loss or decrease in the function of melanocytes, primarily in the skin, hair, retina of the eyes and, possibly, in the pia mater (Pharmacist magazine No. 4, 2000 Modern state of vitiligo therapy).

Changes in the metabolism of the skin pigment melatonin are the cause of vitiligo. Factors affecting metabolic processes in the skin:

hereditary reasons due to which vitiligo spots appear in young people;

acute inflammatory processes and frequent injuries, providing local metabolic disorders in the skin, especially in places of greatest trauma (hands, knees, elbows);

Vitiligo is a relatively rare skin disease characterized by acquired focal pigment loss with predominantly cosmetic inconveniences for patients. Treatment is ineffective, mainly courses are carried out with photosensitizers in combination with ultraviolet radiation. It is known that the action of herbal preparations is multifaceted and, as a rule, does not cause any serious side effects. It was found that the presence of tannins, polysaccharides, alkaloids, lignans, hormone-like substances, vitamins, trace elements and other biologically active substances in plants effectively affects the skin. The task is solved by the fact that. the method of treating vitiligo is carried out by oral intake of an infusion based on plant raw materials containing the herb St. John's wort, calendula flowers, herb succession, large ammonium herb, green pericarp and walnut leaves, calendula medicinal leaves, lemon balm herb, taken in equal amounts, and in purified water heated to 50 ° C is used as an extractant; moreover, according to the invention, the treatment of vitiligo is carried out by applying on the vitiligo spots a lotion based on an oil emulsion containing olive oil with a 20% aqueous-alcoholic extract of walnut leaves, large ammonia herb and lemon balm, taken in a ratio of 1: 1: 1, at a collection ratio to olive oil 1: 2.

The essence of the invention lies in the fact that although each of the components is separately known and is included in the known compositions for the treatment of vitiligo, however, in the proposed combination of aqueous infusion and oil emulsion is unknown. The mechanism of action of these drugs is due to increased sensitivity to sunlight. The effect of using the drugs is enhanced by oil lotions for the treatment of vitiligo.

Along with the proposed remedy, during treatment, it is necessary to carry out a course of vitamin therapy and take immunostimulating drugs orally, as well as when applying napkins moistened with oil extract, irradiate the affected skin areas with an ultraviolet lamp (no more than 3-5 minutes).

The proposed agent for the treatment of vitiligo, in comparison with the prototype, makes it possible to reduce the duration of treatment from 5-7 months to 3 months in the form of moderate severity and to several weeks in the initial form. In addition, the use of the drug does not lead to side effects.
