Abstract

A system (1) for cleaning a ballast bed (2), consisting of a first machine frame (3) and a second machine frame (4) that is coupled to said first machine frame. Each of the machine frames is equipped with two height-adjustable caterpillar tracks (5) and two rail bogies (6). A receiving unit (13) of an excavating chain (12) for receiving ballast (16) lies between the caterpillar tracks (5) of the first machine frame (3). A ballast discharging device (20) lies between the caterpillar tracks (5) of the second machine frame (4), which has a screening system (19).
