Abstract

Known circuit arrangements for switching a power triac operate with a comparatively large residual phase angle, which correspondingly increases the complexity in mains and radio frequency interference suppression. A novel circuit arrangement exhibits a drive circuit (1) for a power triac (V2) which essentially consists of a rectifier bridge circuit (D1, D2, D3, D4) with a switching path of a controllable semi-conductor switch (V1) arranged in its shunt branch. A trigger diode (D5) is connected in series with the switching path. The novel circuit arrangement is provided, in particular, for use in lighting engineering. <IMAGE>
