Abstract

A combined alarm, monitoring and rescue system comprises a room box 33a-33j, 35a-35j for one or more smoke masks for rescue purposes in an associated room, and a two-way communication arrangement for use for giving the alarm and monitoring a number of rooms, for example in multi- storey buildings (hotels, hospitals, office complexes etc.). The room 33a-33j, 35a-35j is connected, via a microswitch or similar actuating arrangement, to a central computer unit 10 with a screen 21a and a printer 23. Two-way communication is established from the room box via the microswitch to the central computer unit and, respectively, from the central computer unit to the alarm generator for light and sound on the room box. The central computer unit is adapted so as, by means of its own microprocessor, to give the alarm to rooms separately or in a group on one or more storeys as required via alarm generators for light and/or sound from the associated room boxes, while the microswitch associated with the room box is adapted so as, on manual or other actuation, to give a corresponding signal to the central computer unit to indicate room number, storey, time etc. <IMAGE>
