Abstract

In a reaction chamber 1, flue gas is injected from an inlet conduit 2 via a flue gas distributor 3. The flue gas is treated in the chamber by atomising of an aqueous solution or suspension of a reaction agent in the flue gas by means of an atomiser 5 and leaves the chamber 1 via an outlet conduit 4, the dried reaction products partly being removable from the bottom of the chamber 11 and partly being transported by the flue gas through the outlet conduit 4. A part of the flue gas is divided from the inlet conduit 2 via a conduit 6 and is bypassed around the distributor 3 via branch conduits 8 and ring-shaped canals 9 to injection apertures 7 situated at different levels a, b, c in the chamber and injecting flue gas along the inside of the wall of the chamber. Hereby, a zone of hot and dry flue gas is formed along the inside of the chamber wall, permitting the operation at a flue gas temperature near the dew point temperature in a central zone of the chamber 1, and thus achieving ideal conditions for reaction because the dry and hot flue gas zone along the wall of the chamber prevents partly dried particles from the central zone reaching the wall of the chamber and depositing thereon as a deposit. By the measures mentioned, an enhanced efficiency of the flue gas cleaning process is achieved. <IMAGE>
