Description
Description
The invention relates to a tamping machine including a machine frame mobile by means of on-track undercarriages on a track, a tamping unit arranged between the on-track undercarriages, and a track lifting unit preceding the tamping unit with respect to a working direction.
In the case of tamping machines of this type, the section of track which is to be lifted for position correction by the track lifting unit during the tamping operation is delimited by the on-track undercarriages resting on the track. From the distance of the two on-track undercarriages to one another, a maximum allowable lifting height of the track results at which the stress affecting the rails and track components is still within the acceptable tolerance limits.
According to AT-B 287 041, a tamping machine is already known on which the distance between the on-track undercarriage located in front, in the working direction, and the tools serving for correcting the track position, or the rear on-track undercarriage, is variable, thus resulting in the maximum lifting height being variable. For that purpose, the front on-track undercarriage is mounted on the machine frame for displacement in the longitudinal direction thereof.
It is the object of the present invention to provide a tamping machine of the type mentioned at the beginning which makes it possible to accomplish a change in the length of the track lifting section in a particularly simple manner.
According to the invention, this object is achieved with a tamping machine of the specified type in that an auxiliary undercarriage having rail wheels is provided between the tamping unit and the rear on-track undercarriage with respect to the working direction, said auxiliary undercarriage being designed to be transferred by a drive, as desired, from a from a work position resting on the track into an inoperative position spaced from the track.
With a tamping machine configured in this way, it is possible to change the distance between the undercarriage support points - delimiting the track lifting section - in a particularly swift and effective manner. In doing so, the expense of time required for this conversion, and also the material expense, is kept to an absolute minimum. An additional advantage lies in the fact that the features according to the invention enable the machine to be of simple construction with compact overall length.
Additional advantages of the invention become apparent from the dependent claims and the drawing description.
The invention will be described in more detail below with reference to an embodiment represented in the drawing in which Fig. 1 is a side view of a tamping machine designed according to the invention, and Fig. 2 is an enlarged view of an auxiliary undercarriage. A tamping machine 1, shown in Fig. 1, has a machine frame 2 which - by means of two on-track undercarriages 3 arranged thereon at the ends - is supported for mobility on a track 4 and equipped with a motor 5, a motive drive 6 and a work cabin 7. An arrow indicates the working direction 8 of the machine 1.
Provided in an upwardly recessed region of the machine frame 2 between the on-track undercarriages 3 is a tamping unit 10 vertically adjustable by means of a drive 9. A track lifting unit 11 preceding the tamping unit 10 with respect to the working direction 8 is connected for vertical and transverse adjustment to the machine frame 2 and equipped with lifting tools 12 designed to be applied to the track 4. A reference system 13 for measuring the track position has measuring axles 14 designed to roll on the track 4.
Provided between the tamping unit 10 and the rear undercarriage 3 - with respect to the working direction 8 - is an auxiliary undercarriage 15 (visible in greater detail in Fig. 2) . The latter is articulatedly connected by means of a linkage 17 to the rear on-track undercarriage 3 and has rail wheels 16 in the shape of flanged rollers 19 designed to roll on the track 4. In this, each auxiliary undercarriage 15 is formed by two flanged rollers 19 arranged one following the other with respect to a longitudinal direction of the machine.
Additionally, the auxiliary undercarriage 15 is vertically adjustably connected to the machine frame 2 by means of a drive 18. Said drive 18 enables a selective transferring of the auxiliary undercarriage 15 from a working position resting on the track 4 into an inoperative position spaced from the track 4 in vertical direction. The lowered working position -shown in the drawing in Fig. 1 - of the auxiliary undercarriage 15 serves for regular tamping operations in which the track 4 is to be lifted up in the region of a track lifting section marked A, within the scope of a correction of the track position. In doing so, the track 4 is advantageously held immovably immediately to the rear of the tamping region by the undercarriage 15 bearing down.
If the tamping machine 1 is operated following a new ballasting or new laying of a track, however, it is necessary to negotiate greater lifting heights for which the length of the track lifting section A is not sufficient. In this case, the auxiliary undercarriage 15 is lifted up into the inoperative position - shown in Fig. 2 - by means of the drive 18, causing the longer track lifting section B to be applied. The same now permits a greater lifting height for the track 4 to be corrected.
The inoperative position of the auxiliary undercarriage 15 is also assumed during transfer travel of the machine 1 to or from the work site.
