Abstract

A pre-fabricated building construction element is disclosed, comprising a core layer covered on both sides by a thinner layer of a cement based material, the core layer comprising an insulating foam material and a plurality of parallel oriented rib structures transferring shear loads within the element of a rigid and low heat transferring plate material positioned at regular mutual distances along a length of the element and rigidly attached to the concrete layers, the overall thickness of the element being less than 60 cm and the overall heat transfer coefficient of the element being less than 0.20 W/(m °C). Further, a weather resistant and self-supporting building envelope and a method for constructing and erecting the same is disclosed, the building envelope consisting of a plurality of pre-fabricated building construction elements being glued together, herein the particularjoints for assembling the envelope.

Claims (19)

1. A pre-fabricated building construction element comprising a core layer covered on both sides by a thinner layer of a cement based material, the core layer comprising an insulating foam material and a plurality of parallel oriented structures of a rigid and low heat transferring material positioned at regular mutual distances along a length of the element and rigidly attached to the concrete layers, the overall thickness of the element being less than 60 cm, preferably less 45 cm, most preferably less than 35 cm, and the overall heat transfer coefficient of the element being less than 0.20 W/(m2 °C), preferably less than 0.17 W/(m2 °C), most preferably less than 0.14 W/(m2 °C).
2. A building construction element according to claim 1, wherein the cement based material is high strength concrete.
3. A building construction element according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the foam material is expanded polystyrene.
4. A building construction element according to any of claims 1-3, wherein the rigid and low heat transferring material is fibreglass reinforced perlite.
5. A building construction element according to any of claims 1-4, further being reinforced with one or more layers of woven fibreglass mesh between the foam layer and one or both of the concrete layers.
6. A building construction element according to any of the preceding claims further comprising a layer of thermally insulating, heat resistant material between the foam layer and one or both of the concrete layers.
7. A building construction element according to claim 6, wherein the heat resistant material is a fibreglass reinforced perlite plate.
8. A building construction element according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the thickness of each of the concrete layers is less than 5 cm, preferably less than 3 cm, most preferably less than 1.5 cm.
9. A building construction element according to any of the preceding claims, designed to form, alone or together with similar elements, a self-supporting ground deck of a building.
10. A building construction element according to any of claims 1-8, designed to form, alone or together with similar elements, a supporting outer or inner wall of a building.
11. A building construction element according to claim 10, designed with one or more openings for mounting of one or more doors or windows.
12. A building construction element according to any of claims 1-8, designed to form, alone or together with similar elements, a self-supporting roof part of a building.
13. A weather resistant and self-supporting building envelope consisting of a plurality of pre-fabricated building construction elements being glued together.
14. A building envelope according to claim 13, wherein the elements are glued together by means of glue comprising non-expanded polyurethane.
15. A building envelope according to claim 13 or 14, wherein the building construction elements glued together are provided with opposing recesses forming together, between the construction elements, one or more cavities each accommodating one or more common positioning rails for keeping the elements in the correct positions with respect to each other.
16. A building envelope according to any of claims 13-15, which is completely assembled at a factory, thus being suitable for transportation to a building site in one piece.
17. A building envelope according to any of claims 13-15, of which a plurality of sections, each comprising a ground deck, outer walls, inner walls and a roof, are assembled at a factory, thus being suitable for transportation to a building site and assembled there.
18. A building envelope according to any of claims 13-17, comprising one or more pre-fabricated building construction elements according to any of claims 1-12.
19. A method for constructing and erecting a building, comprising the steps of: - assembling one or more building envelopes by gluing together a plurality of pre-fabricated construction elements, - transporting the one or more building envelopes to a building site in one piece, and - placing the one or more building envelopes on a linear foundation on the building site.
