Abstract
Purified riboflavin is recovered by heating a riboflavin- containing fermentation liquid to 50-65degreeC for 15-45 minutes, diluting with a suitable quantity of water, centrifuging in order to form a sludge, and, after that, suspending the sludge in another suitable quantity of water and centrifuging once again. This thereby achieves a product which is directly suitable for use as a supplement for animal feed. The fermentation liquid, or the suspended sludge, can, where appropriate, be treated with a proteolytic enzyme in order to promote the efficacy of the treatment. At all events, a purer product is obtained than is the case when directly drying the fermentation liquid.
