Opfindelsen angår en fremgangsmåde til fremstilling af et filter af elektrisk ladet elektret-fibermateriale, ved hvilken der af en kontinuert tilført, højmolekulær, ikke-polær folie ved trækning eller 5 strækning, elektrisk opladning og fibrillering dannes et fibermateriale, der ved formning til en fibermåtte udgør filteret.
En fremgangsmåde af denne art er kendt fra DE offentliggørelsesskrift nr. 25 12 885. Det har 10 imidlertid vist sig, at i de filtre, som er fremstillet ved hjælp af denne fremgangsmåde, er kohærensen i fibermassen ofte utilstrækkelig navnlig under sådanne omstændigheder, hvor filteret skal modstå mekaniske rystelser eller belastes mekanisk på anden 15 måde. Endvidere står filtervirkningen ikke helt mål med forventningerne, idet gennemtrængeligheden øges for hurtigt i en meget støvholdig atmosfære.
Det tilsigtes med opfindelsen at videreudvikle den kendte fremgangsmåde på en sådan måde, at 20 de fremstillede filtre har bedre mekaniske egenskaber og en bedre optagelseskapacitet for de udfiltrerede partikler og dermed får forøget levetid.
Med henblik herpå er en fremgangsmåde ifølge opfindelsen ejemdommelig ved, at den kontinuert til-' 25 førte folie til opnåelse af et krympeligt fibermateriale fremstilles af mindst to ikke-homogent fordelte stoffer med forskellige træknings- eller krymp-, ningsegenskaber og/eller deformeres kraftigt under eller efter trækningen eller strækningen, og at fo-30 lien efter fibrilleringen opskæres for at muliggøre krympning af fibermaterialet.
De ved fremgangsmåden ifølge opfindelsen fremstillede filtre afviger fra kendte filtre ved, at de har bedre mekaniske egenskaber, forbedret homoge-35 nitet og en forbedret filtervirkning. Der er navnlig velegnede til sådanne formål, hvor opfangning af 2

bakterier er af betydning, såsom i ventilationssystemer og klimaanlæg i operationsstuer og laboratorier, som ansigtsmasker og som filtre i støvsuge- i re, enten som støvpose eller som udblæsningsfilter. j 5 Herudover har de den fordel, at de er mere elastiske end filtre fremstillet af ukrympede fibre, således j at de kan presses sammen og derved spare plads under i transport og oplagring. j i
Det produkt, der frembringes ved hjælp af ! 10 fremgangsmåden ifølge opfindelsen, kan udover som j filter benyttes som støveklud. Ved at gnide et stykke ; filtermateriale over en overflade, f.eks. overfladen j af en grammofonplade, bliver denne helt fri for støv, i i idet fibrenes kohærens som følge af deres krympning | 15 forhindrer, at løse fibre fra filtermaterialet bliver 1 tilbage på overfladen.
En udførelsesform for fremgangsmåden ifølge opfindelsen, hvor folien efter fibrilleringen vikles j til en fibervikkel, er ejendommelig ved, at folien 20 for at muliggøre opviklingen til en vikkel i den u-krympede tilstand, til stadighed holdes under trækspænding, medens fibrilleringen og opviklingen foregår, og at fibervikkelen, når opviklingen er afsluttet, aflastes for trækspændingen, således at krymp- 25 ningen af fibermaterialet kan foregå. j
Ved at lade fibrene krympe efter at være j blevet viklet til en vikkel, hvor de allerede besid- j i der en vis gensidig kohærens, opnås, at fibrene låser sig sammen og styrker deres kohærens med det resultat, 30 at de danner et stabilt filter, som viser sig også at kunne modstå en mekanisk belastning. Det viser sig endvidere, at filterets porer er blevet mere uregelmæssige for så vidt angår deres form og er blevet mere ensartede med hensyn til dimension og fordeling. fibre forbedret, hvilket viser sig ved en mindre gen-nemtrængelighed og derfor en bedre filtervirkning.
For at kunne vikle fibermaterialet i ukrympet tilstand til en fibervikkel spændes folien, såvel under 5 fibrilleringen som når det netlignende fibertæppe dannes, en smule under opviklingen, hvorved fibrenes spontane tilbøjelighed til at krympe sig undertrykkes.·
Efter at fibervikkelen er blevet viklet til det ønskede volumen, fjernes den fra opviklingsorga-10 net, f.eks. ved opskæring i aksial retning. Den spænding, hvormed den er viklet, bortfalder herved, således at krympningen af fibrene finder sted.
Ifølge en foretrukken udformning af fremgangsmåden ifølge opfindelsen benyttes der en folie, som 15 er et laminat af de nævnte stoffer. Krympningsegenskaberne hos de herved frembragte fibre er mere ensartede og mere reproducerbare, således at man har undgået, at filteret har svage partier eller partier, som er for gennemtrængelige. Stræknings- eller krymp-20 ningsegenskaberne hos de anvendte stoffer kan være forskellige som følge af den omstændighed, at stofferne er forskellige. Stofferne kan imidlertid også være af samme art; forskellen i egenskaber skyldes så en forskel i molekylevægten hos de tilblandede 25 stoffer, eller i det tilfælde, det drejer sig om et laminat, at stoffet i det ene lag er forstrakt, og at det andet lag ikke er forstrakt eller i hvert fald ikke i samme grad.
For at styrke denne krympning og for tillige 30 at fastholde krympningen og med den fibrenes kohærens er en udførelsesform for fremgangsmåden ifølge opfindelsen ejendommelig ved, at fibermåtten eller fibervikkelen efter krympningen af fibermaterialet udsættes for en varmebehandling. Denne kan f.eks. ud-35 føres ved at anbringe fibervikkelen ca. 15 minutter i en ca. 70°C varm ovn.

Når der på denne måde er viklet en fibermåtte op til den ønskede tykkelse, fjernes den fra rullen 38 enten ved, at den skæres op i retning af rullens akse eller ved, at den skydes fri af rullen 5 uden forudgående opskæring. De fibre, som indgår i fibermåtten, er nu ikke længere i en netop strakt tilstand og krymper derfor spontant som følge af de forskelle i krympning efter aflastning, som eksisterer i de to komponenter af de højmolekylære stoffer, som 10 de er fremstillet af. Fibrene griber ind i hinanden og danner en filtermåtte med en homogen og fast struktur, som yderligere forbedres ved en varmebehandling i omkring 15 minutter i en ovn, som ikke er vist på tegningen, hvilken ovns temperatur holdes på omkring 15 70°C.
Fig. 2 viser et diagram, hvor gennemtrængningen, der er defineret som forholdet imellem støvkoncentrationen bag ved filteret og støvkoncentrationen foran filteret, er angivet i procent ud ad 2 20 ordinaten, og hvor filterets støvbelastning i g/m er afsat ud ad abscissen. Den fuldt optrukne kurve gælder for et krympet elektret-filter ifølge opfindelsen, medens den stiplede kurve gælder for et ikke-krympet elektret-filter.
25 Diagrammet viser, at gennemtrængeligheden for det ikke opfangede støv i elektret-filteret bestående af krympede fibre ved stigende støvbelast-ning er betydelig mindre end for det filter, som er fremstillet af ikke-krympede fibre. Det betyder i 30 praksis, at det krympede filter har en langt længere levetid end det ikke-krympede filter.

Claims (4)

1. Fremgangsmåde til fremstilling af et filter af elektrisk ladet elektret-fibermateriale, ved hvilken der af en kontinuert tilført, højmolekulær, j 35 ikke-polær folie ved trækning eller strækning, elek- DK 152016 B trisk opladning og fibrillering dannes et fibermateriale, der ved formning til en fibermåtte udgør filteret, kendetegnet ved, at den kontinuert tilførte folie til opnåelse af et krympeligt fiberma-5 teriale fremstilles af mindst to ikke-homogent fordelte stoffer med forskellige træknings- eller krympningsegenskaber og/eller deformeres kraftigt under eller efter trækningen eller strækningen, og at folien efter fibrilleringen opskæres for at muliggøre krymp-10 ning af fibermaterialet.
2. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1, hvor folien efter fibrilleringen vikles til en fibervikkel, kendetegnet ved, at folien, for at muliggøre opviklingen til en vikkel i den ukrympede tilstand, 15 til stadighed holdes under trækspænding, medens fi-briileringen og opviklingen foregår, og at fibervikkelen, når opviklingen er afsluttet, aflastes for trækspændingen, således at krympningen af fibermaterialet kan foregå.
3. Fremgangsmåde ifølge krav 1 eller 2, kendetegnet ved, at den kontinuert tilførte folie fremstilles af et laminat af mindst to stoffer med forskellige træknings- eller krympningsegenskaber .
4. Fremgangsmåde ifølge et' eller flere af kravene 1-3, kendetegnet ved, at fibermåtten eller fibervikkelen efter krympningen af fibermaterialet udsættes for en varmebehandling.
