Abstract

A hot dip galvanising process, especially for long thin components, employs a stepwise circulating continuous transport system for successively feeding the components to pretreatment (degreasing, pickling and fluxing) baths, preferably arranged in succession. At least one of the baths effects several simultaneous pretreatment steps and all the baths are held at elevated temperature and connected to one or more vapour suction devices.
