DEUTSCHES PATENTAMTGERMAN PATENT OFFICE
The present invention relates to a method for purifying sugar beet juice by adding it from first a small amount of lime at relatively low temperatures and a second Addition at higher temperatures, subsequent saturation of the juice with carbonic acid and filtration before evaporation.
Das Neue liegt gegenüber dieser bekannten Arbeitsweise darin, daß man mehrere für sich allein bereits bekannte Maßnahmen gemeinsam anwendet, nämlichThe new thing about this well-known way of working is that you have several for yourself alone applies already known measures together, namely
1. Vorbehandlung der auszulaugenden Schnitzel mit schwefliger Säure;1. Pre-treatment of the schnitzel to be leached with sulphurous acid;
2. Zusatz von etwa io bis 30% noch nicht fil-, trierten saturierten kalkhaltigen Saftes zu dem rohen Diffusionssaft vor Zugabe der ersten Kalkteilmenge; 2. Addition of about 10 to 30% not yet fil-, trated saturated calcareous juice to the raw diffusion juice prior to adding the first portion of lime;
3. Allmähliche Zugabe des Kalks für die Vorklärung, z. B. im Laufe von etwa 20 Minuten, zweckmäßig in Form von Kalkmilch, bei etwa45°;3. Gradual addition of the lime for the primary clarification, e.g. B. in the course of about 20 minutes, expediently in the form of milk of lime, at about 45 °;
Filtration of the bulk of the juice after the primary clarification.
As already said, all of these individual measures are already known per se, but only for themselves and mostly for other purposes. The sulfur treatment of the schnitzel has therefore been proposed all possible fermentation and decomposition processes in the pulp on the way to the To switch off diffusers and in the juice, in the present case, however, the sulphurisation also serves

dem auch zur Erleichterung der Klärung und Filtration und dazu, um einen hochwertigeren Zucker zu erzeugen sowie das Kochen, Kristallisieren und Zentrifugieren des aus solchen Schnitzeln gewonnenen Zuckers zu erleichtern.this also to facilitate clarification and filtration and to provide a higher quality sugar as well as the boiling, crystallizing and centrifuging of the chips obtained from such chips To facilitate sugar.
Diese geringe MengeThe amount of SO 2 added to the chips is extremely small in the present mixture and is e.g. B. for an amount of ι kg to 100,000 kg of beet pulp. This small amount
SO 2 reacts immediately with the bases present in the juice, displacing the organic acids bound to these bases to form salts, preferably potassium and sodium sulfite. Apparently, the presence of these salts, which remain in the juice, makes it easier to clean, which is of particular advantage for later clarification and further processing.
Also the return of not yet filtered, i.e. sludge-containing, saturated, calcareous Juice to the raw diffusion juice has already been suggested, but nothing has been said about a juice filtration as part of a preliminary decision, mentioned, and also the returned Saturation sludge not before, as in the present invention, but simultaneously with be added to the lime to the raw juice, at rather high temperatures, while in the present case the temperature must be quite low up to the second addition of lime.
The result is that the. already known Return of the sludge all proteins and phosphates that are contained in the sludge of the pre-separation, not for themselves, but precipitate together with the large amount of lime added for the main separation, so that the corresponding end scum is practical for fodder purposes is no longer usable and can only be used as fertilizer.
In contrast, when working according to the invention. by filtering the juice after the pre-separation, a sludge is obtained that is well suited for feeding purposes and practically the total amount ; which contains proteins and phosphates dissolved during leaching. The returned unfiltered saturation juice, on the other hand, is free of colloids and other impurities.
Eiweißstoffe und Phosphate in hochkonzentrierter Form ermöglicht und die Klärung desThe subdivision of divorce is also known per se; however, a very rapid addition of lime in the preliminary stage was proposed, while experience has shown that the lime is only added very slowly and at a moderate temperature, namely within about 20 minutes and at temperatures of about 45 ° ; This means that the. Protein substances and phosphates in a highly concentrated form and enables the clarification of the
.; ■ · juice in the following main separation so It is much easier that one is particularly easy to filter Sludges and juices that can easily be evaporated and crystallize receives:. .
Praktisch geht man bei Ausführung der vor-In practice, one proceeds when executing the
, . liegenden Erfindung z. ",. lying invention z. B. so 1 before that one on the coming from a cutting device schnitzel. . "Let sulphurous acid act in a very small amount by leaching the chips in a diffuser battery, guiding the juice after measuring and collecting in an intermediate vessel into a pre-separation and gradually shaping it with a small amount of lime (about 0.3%) of lime milk at 45 ° within 20 minutes. Before this first addition of lime, 10 to 30% of the unfiltered, sludge-containing, carbonated juice obtained in the main clarification stage is added to the aforementioned diffusion juice the sludge is heated to 75 to 80 ° in a heating system, after which it enters a decanting system and a filter press · Added more lime in order to carry out the main clarification at about 85 ° C. After passing through another heating system, the juice comes into a saturation device, where it is mixed with carbon dioxide gas is treated to an alkalinity of 0.06 0 Zo, expressed in calcium oxide. From the saturated sludge obtained in this way, the above-mentioned 10 to 30% are branched off in an unfiltered state and passed into the raw diffusion juice, while the rest of the sludge-containing juice reaches a continuous vacuum filter via a decanter. The clear filtrate from this filter is mixed with the clear decanted juice, whereupon the whole thing can be filtered again under low pressure. The precipitate deposited by the filter is removed after washing and can be reburned; the sweet wash water is used to make fresh milk of lime. "
· The clear juice from the first saturation is then given a further amount of. 0.01% lime in the form of milk of lime to, then routes the juice to a heating system, where o is saturated at about 90 0 with further carbon dioxide up to an alkalinity of 0.01 ° / and finally filtered again. This is followed by the usual evaporation and crystallization treatments of the clarified juice. ·
The cleaning method for sugar beet juices described above can be used when using the same total amount of lime, considerably lighter colored juices of higher purity obtained, whereby the refining is made much easier, and one also obtains the for Protein substances and "phosphates" in fairly pure form are particularly valued for animal feed purposes.
