DEUTSCHES PATENTAMTGERMAN PATENT OFFICE
See-through mirrors with a transparent motif are known. Such transparent mirrors are translucent, when held against the light, and reflect against a dark, background. The invention provides a manufacturing method for such mirrors, which characterized by its simplicity compared to the known manufacturing processes.
Die gleichen Nachteile weist ein. weiteres Verfahren auf, bei dem die Motive durch Auskratzen, also Aufrauhen einer GlasplatteOne of the known manufacturing processes provides that the glass plate of the mirror with a ß Mirror covering is covered and, from this advertising sign, z. B. letters, are excluded. The topping is then covered with a translucent. Protective layer covered. The creation of the recesses in the mirror covering 'must either by hand by lifting off the covering at the desired points, or it · must Special means are used to ensure that the coating adheres to the glass plate, which is to be kept clear Prevent posts. Such a cumbersome procedure is therefore extraordinary expensive and is z. B. for small, mass-produced pocket mirrors, especially from economic ones Reasons, not useful. It · can also only have a single-colored motif in the color of the protective layer be achieved. One has the same disadvantages. further procedure in which the motives by scratching out, i.e. roughening, a glass plate

In another known method, the motif is etched into the glass plate. In this process, too, only a single-colored motif can be achieved. With a fourth known one Procedures graze on the back of the mirror glass plate words or pictures with translucent Colors applied. When the paint is dry, it becomes solid, colorless Varnish was painted over to protect against heat and moisture, in such a way that the pictures always stay translucent for light. A translucent protective layer is preferably used, which fully deflects all rays falling on it. Then the mirror coating applied, leaving out the areas that have already been painted: remain. This procedure is also tiraao every hour and has the disadvantage that the motif is attached before the protective layer is applied have to be.
Compared to this known method, it stands out the method according to the invention is characterized by its great simplicity. Before alone it also brings a substantial acceleration of the mirror completion compared to the known methods with it. In order to achieve this, see-through mirrors made of glass in one method for creating I! or plastic, the mirror layer of which is covered with a transparent protective layer, on their your Spiegelbela.g side facing away from there is a banner, the invention that initially the glass or plastic plate is mirrored and only then the transparent protective layer is applied. On the side facing away from the mirror layer, the protective layer is already applied before or only after applying the motif applied. According to more expedient A further development of the invention can be a protective layer that is self-adhesive on at least one side Find foil use. This has the particular advantage that the protective layer can be connected to the glass plate without special operations and that the motif on the Protective layer can already be applied to the glass or plastic plate before it is glued, ! '"ine other expedient further training of the Invention provides that the motif is applied to the protective layer as a transfer. One such is: particularly suitable for adding a multi-colored motif to the mirror. Will the subject only after applying the protective layer z. B. printed or applied as a decal, so is It is of particular advantage that the application of the mirror covering and the protective covering before Applying the motif can be completed. Because the application of the motif is only the last step, it is possible to produce finished, if necessary, to keep mirrors already protected by a protective layer in stock, on the in each case only upon delivery to the customer the motif according to the wishes of the customer is applied. The same advantage arises when using a film as a protective layer. In this case, only the mirrored glass plate and are required to complete a mirror to glue together the fo'lie previously provided with the motif.
