Zur Reinigung von Metallteilen werden in der Industrie vielfach Waschmaschinen verwendet, die nach dem Spritzverfahren arbeiten. Bei solchen Waschmaschinen wird die Reinigungslösung unter Druck auf das Reinigungsgut gespritzt, so daß neben der chemisch-physikalischen Reinigungswirkung der Reinigungsflüssigkeit auch noch die mechanische Wirkung des Spritzstrahles zur Auswirkung kommt. Diese Maschinen erfreuen sich in der Praxis wegen ihrer sehr guten Reinigungswirkung besonderer Beliebtheit. Man kann jedoch in ihnen die handelsüblichen Reinigungsmittel, die bekanntlich aus Alkalisalzgemischen mit einem Zusatz von Netz- und Emulgierungsmitteln bestehen, nicht verwenden, da infolge des Gehaltes an üblichen Netz- und Emulgiermitteln in den Spritzmaschinen starker Schaum entwickelt wird, der ein Arbeiten unmöglich macht.Washing machines that work according to the spraying process are often used in industry to clean metal parts. Die erfindungsgemäß benutzten Netzmittel können in an sich bekannter Weise hergestellt werden durch Anlagerung von Äthylenoxyd an stark verzweigte Fettalkohole, wobei sich als besonders vorteilhaft die Anlagerungsprodukte von sekundären Fettalkoholen, wie sie beispielsweise durch Ketonisierung von Fettsäure und Reduktion der erhaltenen Ketone zu sekundären Alkoholen erwiesen, gewonnen werden. Man kann hierbei z.B. die bei der Paraffinoxydation als sogenannte Vorlauffettsäuren anfallenden Fettsäuren verwenden. Die Anlagerungsprodukte von Äthylenoxyd an solche stark verzweigten Fettalkohole sollen wasserlösliche sein, was man im allgemeinen durch Anlagerung von mehr als 6 Mol Äthylenoxyd pro Mol Alkohol erreicht.
