To restore destroyed tooth crowns, porcelain mantle crowns have been used up to now and, more recently, plastic mantle crowns. When using these crowns, the practitioner was forced to keep a large stock of them, or to accept the loss of time to order an approximately fitting crown from the dental depot, whereby even then only a small amount of room in the variation of the crowns was considered on size, shape and possibly also color remained. This inventive use of a plastic raw body means a revolutionary innovation and simplification.

The invention enables every practitioner to manufacture any tooth shape and size himself with the help of a small range of plastic blanks. No matter whether incisor canine or premolar, no matter whether right or left, whether upper or lower jaw, all these shapes can be shaped from one raw body.

Adapted in color to the previously known tooth colors, the raw body according to one embodiment of the invention is a hollow plastic body open on one side. The open side serves to hold the tooth stump, while the closed side forms the cutting edge.

The use of the raw body as a tooth crown proceeds as follows: The practitioner selects a raw body that corresponds to the tooth color of the natural tooth and places, e.g. B. with the help of grinding instruments, the desired tooth shape. If necessary, the cavity of the raw body is expanded so that it fits onto the tooth stump. The crown that has now been produced is polished and attached to the tooth stump with self-polymerizate.

In order to be able to restore a tooth crown even if a tooth stump is no longer present, a raw plastic full crown with a pressed-in pin is used. This raw plastic full crown differs from the previously described shell crown raw body in that there is a pressed-in metal root post instead of the cavity. Furthermore, the structure of the full crown from two components can be used according to the invention in the sense that appropriately colored components are used to achieve a certain coloring. By changing the material thickness, it is possible to bring out one or the other color shade. If, for example, the wall thickness is kept thin, the color of the core at the thin points, e.g. B. particularly strong on the tooth neck appear. Finally, it is also within the meaning of the invention to provide the practitioner with the raw body made of material that has been pre-worked in the form of a rod or plate.
