Description
Tag der Anmeldung: 13. August 1954 Bekanntgemacht am 19. April 1956Registration date: August 13, 1954. Advertised on April 19, 1956
It is known that the smoking quality of tobacco products, tobacco products, etc. can be improved by processes in which the tobacco products, etc., on the one hand unpleasant-looking tobacco substances are removed or inferior parts such as ribs are removed from the tobacco, on the other hand so-called sauces, flavorings (flavors ) etc. are supplied as taste and odor corrections. Also known is a method for preparing tobacco to a "Kentucky taste" by treating the moist tobacco with essences and mineral salts under pressure at 40 to 75 °; in addition, a process for imparting the aroma of high-quality tobacco to tobacco by treating them with an aromatic extract from tobacco, in particular from high-quality oriental tobacco. Similarly, it is proposed to treat cigar tobacco with an aromatic extract from high quality Havana tobacco. The smoking qualities characteristic of tobacco from certain provenances, e.g. B. the special character of Sumatra and Brazil or of Orient and Burley tobacco, such treatments are not able to bring about any profound changes. In any case, with the known methods it is not possible to give a tobacco of a certain provenance A the smoking qualities of a tobacco of a second provenance B and thereby "retune " its smoking qualities to those of tobacco B.

B. die folgende Tabelle:By comparing tobacco analyzes in which tobacco of different origins according to the one in the patent application G 15114 IVa / 79c broken down into five substance groups that determine smell and taste when smoking tobacco products are optionally further fractionated, it has now been found that the 'differences in smoke qualities of tobacco from different origins are based on the different proportions in which the mentioned groups of substances occur in these tobacco, but not on qualitative recognizable when smoking Differences between these groups of substances. How significant are the differences in quantity for tobacco from different origins can be, shows z. B. the following table:
Virginiashear

Virginia-on USA
Virginia-
. ■ -The figures show that inland virginia tobacco only accounts for about half of the hydrocarbons and flavorings of USA Virginia tobacco, but about. one sixth more high molecular weight sugars, Cellulose, etc. ■ -
It was also found that when smoking, qualitative differences between each other corresponding Substance groups of different tobaccos cannot be recognized if both tobaccos are of the same. . d. H. belong to the acidic or the alkaline group. Since there are changes in provenance will be either two cigar tobacco or two cigarette tobacco, and there is cigar tobacco mostly to the alkaline, cigarette tobacco mostly to the acidic group of tobacco, thus have consistently the corresponding groups of substances of the same tobacco practically the same smoke qualities. On the basis of these findings it was further found that a tobacco of provenance A is the Smoking qualities of a tobacco of provenance B can be imparted if one considers the chemical composition of tobacco A based on tobacco analyzes of the composition of tobacco B by adding the the tobacco A missing amounts of the various substance groups important for the smoke quality of the Approximates tobacco. The practical implementation of such a "re-tuning" of tobacco A depends first and foremost Line from a comparison of the analyzes of tobacco A and B. Smoke samples come second in question when the retuning has been carried out and the mixtures produced on the basis of the analyzes of tobacco substances in qualitative and quantitative terms with regard to their effects on the treated Tobacco should be checked and possibly corrected.
When carrying out the analyzes of the tobacco, the most extensive possible determination is not made from individual tobacco substances, of which only nicotine emerges, but rather on the determination those mentioned in patent application G 15114 IVa / 79c and then from tobacco waste groups of hydrocarbons, the aromatic substances, nicotine bases, pectins and pentosans and cellulose and builders.
Für die Durchführung der Analysen der Tabake A und B genügt es deshalb im allgemeinen, wenn manTo carry out the analyzes of tobacco A and B, it is therefore generally sufficient if one
B. Schwefelsäure, extrahiert und in den erhaltenen Extraktlösungen, welche etwa 8o°/0 der Trockensubstanz des Tabaks aufgenommen haben, die Gehalte an Trockensubstanz, außerdem den letzten Rückstand von den drei Extraktionen, welcher Zellulose und go Gerüststoffe enthält, bestimmt,a) both tobaccos one after the other with a hydrophobic solvent, e.g. B. trichlorethylene, then with water and finally with dilute mineral acid, e.g. As sulfuric acid, extracted and the resultant extract solutions containing from about / 0 of the dry substance of the tobacco have taken 8o °, the contents of dry matter, also the last residue of the three extractions, which cellulose and contains go builders, determined
b) den mit hydrophoben Lösungsmitteln gewonnenen Extrakt mit Methanol in zwei Fraktionen zerlegt und die in Alkohol unlöslichen Kohlenwasserstoffe und die in Alkohol löslichen Aromastoffe bestimmt, b) the extract obtained with hydrophobic solvents is broken down into two fractions with methanol and determines the hydrocarbons insoluble in alcohol and the aromatic substances soluble in alcohol,
If necessary, the fraction of the aromatic substances is further broken down by fractional distillation under reduced pressure to 10 ~ 6 Torr,
d) im Wasserextrakt den Gehalt an Zuckern und an organischen Säuren bestimmt,d) determines the sugar and organic acid content in the water extract,
e) nach bekannten Methoden den Nikotingehalt bestimmt,e) determines the nicotine content according to known methods,
B. mit Methanol, zu gewinnenden Extrakt bestimmt, welcher etwa 30 % der in organischen Lösungsmitteln und in Wasser löslichen Tabakstoffe enthält.f) if necessary, in the tobacco products to be compared with those with hydrophilic organic solvents, 'z. B. with methanol, determined extract to be obtained, which is about 30% of that in organic solvents and contains water-soluble tobacco substances.
Extend the possibilities for using the described method for "retuning" tobacco firstly on any two cigar tobaccos, secondly on any two cigarette tobaccos, if either both tobaccos belong to the alkaline or the acidic tobacco group and associated tobacco waste is available. If one tobacco belongs to the alkaline group, a second Tobacco belongs to the group of sour tobacco and the waste is an unknown mixture every change of mood refined chemical analyzes of tobacco and waste and an increased number of systematically carried out smoke tests.
Die dem umzustimmenden Tabak auf Grund der Tabak-For the practical implementation of the voting procedure, those according to the patent application G 15114 IVa / 79c obtained from tobacco waste Groups of substances or their fractions are used. analysen fehlenden Mengen von Tabakstoffen brauchen erfahrungsgemäß nicht immer vollständig, sondern oft nur zu einem gewissen Bruchteil, der durch Rauchproben zu ermitteln ist, z. Experience has shown that analyzes of missing quantities of tobacco substances do not always need complete, but often only to a certain fraction, which can be determined by smoke samples, e.g. B. 70 to 90% fed to become. By smoke samples it can also be determined that sometimes entire groups of substances, e.g. B. the the Pentosans and pectins, or those of organic acids, can be omitted without the Effect of the change of mood is jeopardized. In special cases in which tobacco waste is inexpensively composed are available, it is even possible to use an extract, e.g. B. to be obtained with methanol get along because this in one operation about 30% of the tobacco ingredients, including all Hydrocarbons and flavorings, all nicotine bases, plus all sugars and some of the contains organic acids, which in favorable proportions Ability to approximately fill gaps in the tobacco to be changed.
The leeway that is left with every tobacco retuning, both in terms of quality and Quantity of the missing ones or those that can be weakened in their effect by hydrocarbons Substance groups is present, has to do with the fact that the tobacco to be changed - z. Am aqueous emulsion - applied tobacco substances on the surface of the tobacco or tobacco clippings, etc. adhere and therefore release their volatile constituents more quickly and to a greater extent in tobacco smoke and can act as the same original ones enclosed in the plant cells Tobacco leaf tobacco substances. The latter are before they burst the cell walls during the smoking process and in the smoke pass over, partly burned in the smoldering zone and therefore occur as a taste and Odor substances do not appear as they would be expected from their quantity and nature. The tobacco substances can be applied to the tobacco to be converted by spraying or Nozzles of solutions or of aqueous emulsions which have been produced with known emulsifiers are done.
In the case of cigarette tobacco, the supply of tobacco substances can be controlled by the processes of saucing and Combine roasting.
The effect of the added substance mixtures on the smoker is expediently long-lasting Smoke samples are determined until the optimum effect is achieved with a minimum of tobacco substances.
i. Cigarette tobacco is exhaustively extracted with a hydrophobic organic solvent such as trichlorethylene. The extract is then dissolved in three times the amount by weight of boiling alcohol and, after cooling, separated from the precipitate which has separated out. After thorough washing of the precipitate with cold, fresh alcohol and the combined filtrates to a io ° / 0 are concentrated solution. Subsequently, 100 g German middle class is Virginia tobacco with 26 cc of the above io ° / 0 IgERI alcoholic solution uniformly moistened and further processed in a known manner. The middle class German virgin tobacco prepared in this way cannot be distinguished from a good overseas virgin in terms of its smoking qualities.
Nach einem Vorlauf erhält man zwischen 100 und 1300 etwa 2,8 g eines angenehm süßlich-tabakartig riechenden Öls von hellgelber Farbe.2. 100 g of cigarette tobacco dust is exhaustively extracted with benzene and the extract (9.4 g) freed from the solvent is dissolved in 35 ecm hot ethyl alcohol. After cooling, the precipitate which has separated out (3.5 g) is filtered off. The filtrate is freed from alcohol, finally under reduced pressure, and then subjected to fractional distillation at 10 "3 Torr. After a forerun, between 100 and 130 ° about 2.8 g of a pleasantly sweet tobacco-like smelling oil of light yellow color are obtained .
Now 3.2 g of the insoluble in cold alcohol portion of the benzene extract and 2 g of the Light yellow oil obtained by high vacuum distillation with 5.8 g of deodorized paraffinic hydrocarbon (DAB 6) from melting point 52 to 54 ° and a suitable, commercially available emulsifier melted together.
Er ist in seinen Rauchqualitäten von einem Orienttabak mittlerer Klasse nicht zu unterscheiden.g of this mixture are in 10 ecm hot Water emulsified and this emulsion applied evenly to g of Virginia tobacco. The one according to the rule Treated Virginia tobacco is then processed like oriental tobacco. He's in his Smoking qualities indistinguishable from middle class oriental tobacco.
