bringt. Da die Erfüllung dieser BedingungenThe use of electrical equipment that produces ignitable sparks during operation
(Switch etc.), in potentially explosive areas requires the inclusion of the same in a pressure-resistant one
Housing that can withstand explosions of penetrated gases without damage and its sealing surfaces
are dimensioned so that the explosion inside does not cause external gases to ignite
brings. Because the fulfillment of these conditions
ίο places high demands on the material
the housings have since been made of metal, which apart from the high price and weight, make them big
The disadvantage is that it is particularly pressure-resistant for connecting the built-in apparatus
trained bushings are required with appropriate processing of the housing, whereby
a further significant increase in price arises.
Even if it is quite possible to make correspondingly stable housings from molded material or a similar insulating material that can withstand the internal explosion pressure, the use of such materials for pressure-resistant housings failed because the sealing surfaces over time as a result of the hot gases flowing past them attacked, whereby the gap is enlarged so that ignition breakdowns are unavoidable. Since experience has shown that this phenomenon occurs only on the sealing surfaces, the present invention provides for the housing to be produced from an insulating material and for the sealing surface to be formed by a metal ring firmly connected to the housing wall. Only then has it become possible to use molded material for pressure-resistant housings. The metal rings can be pressed in, shrunk on or otherwise attached. It would suffice to manufacture only the housing in this way, while the cover is still made entirely of metal. According to the further invention, however, it is more advantageous to also provide a metal ring in the cover. In producing the housing of molded material, however, now gives the other big advantage is that the cable entry into the flameproof enclosure no longer special care is fitted flameproof bushings must be made, but it is sufficient that penetrations in known manner in the form of bars, Bolts or similar at the same time to be pressed in during the manufacture of the housing in one operation. This also enables a particularly simple shape of the housing, since now no consideration needs to be given to a processing option for the seats of the bushings.
