Description
The invention relates to a method for producing coatings or impregnations on materials of all kinds, especially textile materials. The method consists in applying aqueous to the materials Solutions of synthetic resins are applied, which are salt groups formed from basic groups with acids contain. After the resins containing salt groups are applied, they become insoluble Form transferred, which can be achieved on the one hand by forming the free resin bases, or in that the soluble salt resins by reaction with suitable acids or their salts in insoluble salt resins transferred. If necessary, further reactions can be carried out with the free resin bases which increase the insolubility of the resins. One achieves thereby on the materials Coatings or impregnations that are firmly adherent and durable.
B. in Frage: Formaldehyd bzw. Amino compounds such as urea, its substitution products or derivatives such as alkyl ureas, Thiourea or other amide derivatives of carbonic acid, such as urethane and guanidine or its derivatives, Cyanamide, dicyandiamide, further with compounds of the azine series, such as. B. melamine and the like, as well as with aromatic amines and sulfamides. Before or during the condensation of these compounds substances are added which contain salt groups formed from basic ίο groups with acid, such as B. salts of guanidine and its derivatives, of guanylurea, of dialkylaminoalkylureas and the like, however, known similarly constituted resins having salt groups can also be used have been obtained in other ways, provided that they are converted into insoluble form after application permit.
B. Papier, Pappe, Pappguß, Holz, Kunstmassen, Leder, Stein usw.As mentioned at the beginning, the present method relates primarily to the impregnation of Textile materials, namely on cotton, linen, rayon, rayon, wool, natural silk, synthetic wool, in thread, strand or fabric form, etc. In addition to the textile materials, according to the present method other materials are coated or impregnated, such as. B. paper, cardboard, cardboard casting, Wood, art masses, leather, stone, etc.
The impregnation is carried out in such a way that aqueous from the salt group-containing resins solutions at concentrations of for example 0.5 to 5 ° / 0 prepared and these solutions to the aforementioned materials applied by dipping, bubbling or by brushing, spraying and otherwise impregnation species . After impregnation, the materials are freed from excess impregnation liquid and, if necessary, dried. This is now followed by the operations which are intended to make the applied resin layer insoluble.
The pre-impregnated materials can be treated with aqueous solutions of basic reacting agents, such as solutions of oxides or hydroxides of alkali, alkaline earth or earth metals, solutions of strong organic bases and the like, whereby the resin bases are formed. The basic agent of these aftertreatment baths at the same time insoluble with the acid residues of the resin salts Form compounds which can be embedded in the resin coatings in the form of pigments. If the insolubility of the resin bases formed does not appear to be sufficient, one can optionally also apply an aftertreatment with formaldehyde, or you can in the resin bases, for example by acylation, reaction with isocyanates and the like, introduce higher molecular weight organic residues. The insolubility of the resin coatings or resin impregnations can also be achieved by that one passes the pre-impregnated materials through baths which contain soluble salts of acids which result in insoluble salts with the resin bases, so there is an exchange between the acid residue of the resin base and the acid residue of the salts contained in the baths. As salts that contain acid residues, which can result in insoluble compounds with the resin bases are, for example: Alkali sulfates, alkali chlorates, alkali perchlorates, alkali phosphates, fatty acid salts, water-soluble salts of organic sulfuric acid esters, water-soluble salts of organic Sulfonic acids and other anionic soap substitutes.
The aftertreatment takes place in the usual manner in treatment baths or by brushing on the treatment solutions, the implementation by using elevated bath temperatures is promoted. If necessary, if there are more profound chemical reactions at the Amino group of the resin bases, special chemical methods are also used.
The impregnation or coating gives the treated materials an extremely resistant, In particular, alkali-resistant firmly adhering resin coating, which makes it resistant to atmospheric attack and chemical nature are largely protected. Furthermore, the materials can have an essential Structural improvement can be given, depending on the materials used and the ones used Starting materials affects in different directions. You can according to the method according to the invention Textiles can be given washable finishes, especially filling finishes Also avivate in this way, if the aftertreatment with a soap bath or with the aqueous solution of an anionic soap substitute, with insolubles on the fiber Resin salts are formed which contain residues of fatty acids, etc. as anions. This will get the treated Textiles have a soft feel that is absolutely washable. You can also use the textile materials Causing matting effects by, for example, the textile webs with a Impregnated with sulfuric acid resin salt and the aftertreatment then either with a bath carries out, the barium hydroxide contains dissolved, or first carries out with a bath, which a contains soluble barium salt, and then enters a bath with dilute alkali solution. One receives on This way an excellent wash-resistant matting, in which the insoluble resin is attached to the formed Contains very finely divided barium sulfate, which is of great practical interest for textile technology. In the above-mentioned processes, known finishing or finishing agents can also be used in suitable cases also use.
It should also be mentioned that the textile materials, provided that the fixation of the resins by formation the resin base undertakes to maintain basic properties, i.e. become wool-like and thus a Obtain an increase in their dyeability. On the other hand, the procedure can also be based on substantives Use dyed dyed textiles, whereby one increases the water fastness or iao The dyeings retain perspiration fastness.
Holzgegenstände können durch die Behandlung ebenfalls imprägniert werden und sindOther materials, such as paper, cardboard and cardboard, obtained by the invention ; appropriate treatment of waterproof coatings or impregnations. Wooden objects can through the Treatment can also be and are impregnated
dann gegen chemische und atmosphärische Einflüsse, vor allem auch gegen Fäulnis gesichert.then secured against chemical and atmospheric influences, especially against rot.
