Description
Method of Manufacture of a Multi-Layered, Ventilated Rainwear Fabric. In the manufacture of raincoats from fully waterproof and fully airtight material, the problem of proper ventilation causes significant difficulties. A number of raincoats have become known in which attempts have been made again and again to improve the ventilation or to make it effective at all. In many cases: have such attempts failed because z. B. the welding of thermoplastics can not be done with the desired accuracy and 'cleanliness, because these plastics change in their surface expansion when exposed to temperature and moisture, which means that a high level of accuracy required work is practically very difficult to carry out. But even with such rainwear fabrics, which consist of a fabric with a rubber coating on both sides, 'difficulties in the production of ventilation arise because these fabrics, for. B. welding by means of high-frequency current is not possible and the gumming of the connection points located between the ventilation openings by hand requires a very large amount of time. Attempts to machine such rubber coatings at the connection points have failed because it is inevitable that the rubber, which also does not always have exactly the same texture, gets to places where it may cause unwanted gluing of opening slits and the like. the like. The outlined 'difficulties arise in particular to an increased extent when, such. B. in the subject of the German patent 87 5 7 8 5 belonging to the inventor, it depends on particular accuracy in the connection of narrow surfaces between the ventilation openings. But since it is precisely with this ventilation that an extremely good air circulation is achieved that has not yet been achieved with any other raincoat ventilation, the task to be solved was to find an economical, ie mechanically feasible process that allows processing with the required accuracy, with z. B. the well-known rainwear material rubberized on both sides was available as a starting product. Since gumming was ruled out, as mentioned before, and the rubber layers cannot be welded with high-frequency current, one was initially faced with seemingly insurmountable difficulties.
The method according to the invention now provides a way to complete it Overcoming these difficulties: found. Since the rubber with a thin coating, as tests have shown, is penetrated by the high-frequency current without damage to suffer, according to the inventive method for producing one of several '' Rainwear fabric consisting of layers of fabric with ventilation openings suggested that the two ventilation panels to be connected only on their Outside are rubberized and on the other hand at least the inner one, against each other surfaces that come into contact are provided with a mass generated by high-frequency current is weldable. As a mass for coating -the adjacent (inside-); sides Thermoplastics (polyvinyl chloride) or similar come from high frequency weldable materials into consideration. The new process is not just special Advantage on the subject of the German patent 875 785, but for all types' applicable to rainwear fabrics.
The new process is continued on the basis of the schematic drawing illustrated.
Fig. I shows a longitudinal section through two layers to be connected, on a greatly enlarged scale; Fig. 2 shows the same with the examples according to ventilation elements protruding from the outside.
Im Längsschnitt gemäß Fig. i sind die beiden erfindungsgemäß vorbereiteten Stoffbahnen i und 2 auf ihrer Außenseite je mit einer Gummischicht 3 versehen. Die Träger i bzw. In the longitudinal section according to FIG. I, the two are prepared according to the invention Fabric webs i and 2 each provided with a rubber layer 3 on their outside. the Carriers i or 2 of the coatings can be a fabric or some other basic material (Substrate). The inner, adjacent surfaces of the lengths of fabric i and 2 are each with a 'layer q., z. B. from synthetic resin or the like., Coated, which can be welded with high frequency current. Tests have shown that it is used for Link. of the lengths of fabric is enough if only one of them with a synthetic resin layer or the like. Is painted. Another embodiment of the method according to the invention is that instead of applying a layer to the webs of fabric between a synthetic resin film is inserted into them. The connection comes this way also perfect.
According to the invention, no consideration whatsoever is required during the coating to be taken on any parts to be connected, but it can be on mechanical Ways the surface coating (q.) Can be made. The connection to the desired, between the opening elements is then carried out by the corresponding trained an electrode .des welding machine, which ensures high accuracy and Cleanliness is to be achieved during the welding. In Fig. 2, for example the welded joints 5 achieved in such a way can be seen while which did not touch the electrode producing the welding surface, punched out Ventilation parts protrude outwards. The drawing is only intended as a Illustrative example for any type of ventilation selected, d. That is to say, the method according to the invention can generally be used.
