Das als Schutzmittel gegen Feuchtigkeit dienende öl oder Fett kann mit einem Pinsel auf die Gleichrichterscheiben aufgetragen werden, oder man taucht die Gleichrichterscheiben in einen Bottich, in dem sich öl oder Fett befindet. Zweckmäßig wird das Schutzmittel vor dem elektrischen Formieren der Gleichrichterscheiben aufgebracht.
