Description

Use of a cadmium alloy as a filling compound The invention relates on a filler made of metal for filling. of the recesses in the sheet metal walls of motor vehicles. This filling compound should have a relatively low melting point have and during. the duration of solidification, i.e. between their melting point and theirs Freezing point, be kneadable if possible. This filling compound should also be acid-resistant be and have a certain strength.

So far, an alloy has been used as the filling compound, which consists of about 75%. Lead and about 250/0 tin. This alloy meets the requirements mentioned, but the surface of the filling line must now be processed with the file and the brush after it has been introduced into the recess. This creates a fine metal dust; which is harmful to the health of the workers employed because of its lead content. This dust could be sucked off, which, however, requires special auxiliary devices, which would also make processing the filling liquid more difficult. According to the invention, this deficiency is avoided while maintaining the requirements mentioned in that an alloy known per se is used as the filling compound, which consists of about 85 parts of cadmium and about 15 parts of tin. Due to the elimination of 7 "lead when working with a file and brush, this alloy no longer has any harmful effects on the health of the workers involved Filling compound can also be made in the same advantageous manner as with the previously customary alloy containing lead, which is harmful to health.
