mit einer einzigen Schicht einer flüssigen, später erstarrenden Masse umgossen wird;
Process for producing one formed from elastic material.
Mold for replicating an original In order to produce replicas of three-dimensional originals,
what is needed is a form that represents a negative of the original, i.e. the
Elevations of the original depressions, the depressions of the original elevations
correspond. All previous methods of making such negatives had
certain flaws. For example, materials were sometimes used for the production of the molds,
which could only be deformed at a temperature that the original did not have in all
Cases could be suspended. Other methods are based on the original
is poured with a single layer of a liquid, later solidifying mass;
the shrinkage processes that occur during solidification lead to inaccurate reproduction
the surface of the figurative original. Shapes formed by other methods
are so sensitive that with them only a small number match the original only somewhat
corresponding replicas can be made. The surface and true to shape
Reproduction of a plastic Oirsignal, which has undercuts, was previously
practically impossible using a one-piece mold.
The object of the invention is to produce a form with which from
a malleable, rapidly solidifying mass, such as plaster of paris or wax, any
Number of faithful replicas of a figurative original can be produced,
without the original itself, it may also be made of a heat-sensitive material
persist, undergo any changes.
According to the invention
such a shape is formed in such a way that the original with 'a thin
A layer of a solution or dispersion is painted; which after a short time, d. H.
within a fraction of an hour, or within a few hours, to one
elastic film dries up; after drying, another thin layer is applied
or dispersion applied and waiting for it to dry; the coating in layers
with subsequent drying is repeated until the shape has a strength
which of the areas required for the production of the replicas. Stability.
In order to achieve a true-to-shape replica, it is advisable to use the solution or
Apply dispersion so thin that the film formed is not thicker than 0.1 mm
is.
Being particularly suitable for making shapes out of one another
applied, quick-drying layers has become an aqueous, by addition
ammonia-stabilized dispersion of vulcanized rubber. Kutschuklösun =
genes are in themselves used to make inflatable molds of bodies or body parts
and also known for making molds by casting.
The stability of the shape produced in this way can be significant
be increased by the fact that after the application and drying of some layers, for. B.
a permeable fabric made of rubber and this during the further
Brush z. B. is incorporated into the mold with the rubber dispersion.
In vielen Fällen, in denen
With the new shapes it is possible to create a particularly faithful replica
any surface. With suitable coloring of the replica
a deceptive resemblance to the material of the original can be achieved because
whose surface texture is reproduced in detail. It succeeds
In addition, the reproduction of originals that have undercuts,
because the shape, as a result of its permanent elasticity, differs from the original itself
as well as from the replicas made, for example, of plaster of paris or wax
can be without fear of damaging the shape or the replica
is. The shape is particularly important when inserting a fabric, e.g. B. a canvas gauze,
extremely hard-wearing and always takes even after repeated deformation
returns to the original shape corresponding to the original to be reproduced.
It is particularly durable compared to previously used forms and allows
Manufacture of a very large number of replicas. In many cases where
previously a multi-part mold was required, you can also come according to the invention
with a one-piece mold.
erhärteten Schichten unter o,i mm liegen.
Even when using a rubber dispersion, the thickness of the individual,
hardened layers are below 0.1 mm. In many cases it is sufficient
Stability is given when the shape has a thickness of o; 8 to i mm. Hang up slides
of a fabric is only done after a few layers have been painted on and dried,
because otherwise the fabric would disturb the fidelity of the replica. It looks satisfactory
Results shown when a total of about ten to twelve layers of the aqueous dispersion
were applied. However. the number of layers can also be increased as required.
It has been found useful with the outside of the stiffened
Form an abutment, one. so-called coat, made of plaster of paris or some other material
To form sufficient rigidity in which-is the finished form during manufacture
which supports replicas. When making such an abutment, there are undercuts
to avoid. So, on the outside of the mold, the wells are made before manufacture
of the abutment filled with a plastic mass. This filling can be done at
further use of the form remain.
gefertigt ist, also z. B. Kautschuk, noch keinen Schaden erleidet. -Insbesondere
bestehen. To produce the replicas using the new mold, each
malleable, rapidly solidifying mass, provided that the deformability
already exists at a temperature at which the substance of which the shape is made
is made, so z. B. rubber, has not yet suffered any damage. -In particular
As already mentioned, plaster of paris and wax can be used. The original to be reproduced
can be made of any material, e.g. B. made of wood, metal, ivory, ceramics, textiles,
exist.
