wherein the cover hood rests with its underside on the table surface of the saw table (1) in a rest position, through which a part of the saw blade (3) protrudes upwards, and covers the protruding part of the saw blade (3) and rests with its underside on the workpiece (42) to be machined in a working position raised from the table surface of the saw table (1),

2. Protective device according to claim 1, characterized in that the sliding guide is designed as a ball guide.

3. Protection device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the guide rail has two guide parts (16,

17) which are arranged parallel and at a longitudinal distance from one another on a first side wall (7) of the cover hood, and that one of the two guide parts (16) extends in extension of the tangent to the interface (18) of the saw blade (3).

4. Protection device according to claim 3, characterized in that opposite parts (19, 20) associated with the guide parts (16, 17) are attached to the holder (21, 25).

Protection device according to claim 4, characterized in that the holder (21, 25) contains a guide plate (21) which has a side facing the first side wall (7) of the cover, on which the opposite parts (19, 20) associated with the guide parts (16, 17) are attached, and that the guide plate (21) contains connecting means (23, 24) for connection to the holder (2) on the side facing away from the first side wall (7) of the cover.

6. Protection device according to claim 5, characterized in that the holder (21, 25) contains a carrier (25) for the swivel arm (26) and that the carrier (25) is fixedly connected to the guide

support plate (21) and protrudes beyond the back (8) of the cover part.

7. Protection device according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the pivot arm (26) is connected to a second side wall (6) of the cover hood via a straight guide running parallel to the table surface of the saw table (1).

8. Protection device according to claim 7, characterized in that the straight guide is formed by a further sliding guide.

9. Protection device according to claim 8, characterized in that the further guide rail has a guide part (32) which is attached to the second side wall (6) and an associated opposite part (33) which is attached to the pivot arm (26) on the side facing the second side wall (6).

11. Protective device according to claim 9 or 10, characterized in that the swivel arm (26) has a locking device (34) at the connection point with the further guide, by means of which the cover can be locked in its respective position.

12. Protective device according to one of claims 6 to 11, characterized in that a relief device is provided for relieving the swivel arm (26) of the weight of the cover.

13. Protection device according to claim 12, characterized in that the relief device consists of a tension spring

(29) whose first end is suspended from the support (25) and whose second end is suspended from a spring holder (28) which is mounted between the ends of the pivot arm (26).

14. Protective device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the side walls (6, 7) on the underside of the cover are provided on the inside with protective strips (40, 41).

15. Protective device according to one of claims 1 to 14, characterized in that the upper side (9) of the cover part of the cover hood contains a suction nozzle (35).

16. Protective device according to claim 15, characterized in that the cover hood contains a flow guide element (36) inside in the region of the suction nozzle (35).

Protection device according to claim 16, characterized in that the flow guide element (36) is formed by unequal length legs (38, 39) of an obtuse angle, the apex (37) of which is offset relative to the suction nozzle (35) to the front part (10) of the cover hood, the short leg (38) of which faces the rear side (8) and the long leg (39) of which faces the front side (10) of the cover part of the cover hood.
