The invention relates to an exercise or training device that is used to train a person's entire body. The device should be as simple and therefore inexpensive as possible.
The training device according to the invention essentially consists of the combination of a jumping surface, e.g. in the form of a mini-trampoline arranged on a frame, and two levers, each of which is pivotably attached to the frame with an intermediate friction brake. Both levers have a handle at one end so that they can be pivoted forwards and backwards against the resistance of the respective brake. A person trains in the manner of an aerobic exercise by performing normal walking movements, running, jogging or even dancing on the jumping surface. This strains the person's lower body and therefore trains it. At the same time, the person grasps the levers by the handles and moves them forwards and backwards, similar to what normally happens when walking or running. The friction brakes oppose the movements of the levers and thereby strain the person's arms and upper body, which trains the upper body muscles.
The desired fitness of the whole body is therefore achieved by straining the upper body due to the arm movements against the resistance of the levers and straining the lower body due to the type of activity that is carried out on a classic trampoline. Both activities can be perfectly coordinated and are carried out normally and easily.
The resistance to the movements of the upper body is created by using energy when moving the levers to move them against the resistance of the friction brake. The friction brake can be any type of brake, e.g. a drum brake, a disc brake, a cone brake or similar. The core principle is always that when the levers move, friction forces are created by dry mechanical friction by moving two friction surfaces relative to each other and thereby pressing against each other, as is clear to the expert from the knowledge of physics. The resulting force or dynamic resistance is created as the product of the friction coefficient between the two surfaces pressed against each other and the pressure force that presses the two surfaces together and is directed perpendicular to them, and is not influenced by the speed of movement or the size of the surfaces. This has the advantage that you can move the levers or arms as quickly as you want or in coordination with the movements of the lower body. This is not the case with training methods where the resistance depends on the speed of movement, as is the case with shock absorbers, for example. The friction brake only needs to be adjusted once at the beginning of the training session, either according to the usual strength or as desired.
