Continuous evaporator with tubular heating chamber for thickening sugar solutions
For thickening solutions, e.g. B. of sugar juices, vaporizers are in use,
in which the solution to be thickened is introduced into a container at the bottom and in
this through the heating pipes of a steam-heated heating chamber to the upper part
of the container rises from which it is then drained down again.
In the space under the previously common heating chambers in which the solution
at first, part of it remains quite motionless for a long time
the main amount rises through the heating pipes. By staying too long at high
However, the temperature can adopt undesirable properties. Sugar juice
z. B. can easily discolour with today's common vaporizers. It exists
the risk of sugar inversion and caramel formation due to the destruction of sucrose.
The juice can become cloudy as a result of flocculation and, as a result, there is a risk of incrustation
increase with temperature fluctuations. These phenomena are already in the beet sugar industry
annoying, but even more so when processing the temperature-sensitive cane sugar.
Continuous evaporators for thickening solutions have also become known,
where the juice chamber is located both under and above the tubular heating chamber
is divided into several departments, each of which is upper department through in the
Riser pipes lying in the heating chamber with the associated lower compartment as well as through
Downpipes connected to the adjacent lower compartment. With this well-known
Arrangement, the juice should flow back through the downpipes. This backflow is
only possible if
one the. Liquid to above the top floor
accumulates. In the known designs, this should be done by throttling the flow,
so only if normal continuous operation is interrupted.
vermieden.According to the invention, each of the. upper - divisions with the neighboring one
The lower section is connected not only by the downpipes but also by riser pipes
be that equalize the juice level between adjacent upper compartments. at
this embodiment according to the invention does not need to interrupt normal continuous operation
to become, because the riser pipes according to the invention act just like the rest
heating pipes arranged within a single chamber. The liquid will
brought to a boil in them and consequently rises with the steam so that
it is driven back into one of the chambers above the upper floor. The difference
between the previously known, previously mentioned statements and the subject matter
the application is that in the previous statements, theoretically
the last one is connected to the first chamber. However, this facility will only take effect
when the vaporizer is filled with the liquid in the last compartment
of the apparatus is considerably higher than in the first compartment. The previously known version
thus resulted in a self-regulation only with one filling up to the overflow of the downpipe.
In the embodiment according to the invention, however, is continuously with the cheapest
Liquid level worked in the individual departments, and the invention
Riser pipes ensure that the body is exposed to disturbances in the inlet or outlet
do not remain unwetted in all departments. This will cause local overheating
avoided.
Fallrohre. In the downpipes, the juice should not be additionally heated, but
with the temperature, which is somewhat reduced by evaporation, the free
Flow is maintained. But since the downpipes take the shortest route, i.e.
H. are also passed through the heating chamber, they receive, as is known per se,
Suspension tubes, the outside diameter of which is slightly smaller than the clear width of the
Downpipes.

Innen
nächsten Abteilungspaares verbinden, also mit 6b.
.in Fig. i angedeutet ist.
13 aufliegen. The container i is provided with the bottom z. The juice to be thickened is introduced through line 3 at the bottom and, after thickening, drained through line 4 with valve 5. It first reaches space 6 ″ below the heating chamber 7, which is fed with steam through the pipe sockets 8 and ii. Inside the container, the incoming steam divides into branches g and io The upper intermediate floor 13. The space below the heating chamber is divided into the lower compartments 6a, 6b, 6, and 6d by vertical walls 14. These walls are widened at the bottom by inclined extensions 15 in order to avoid vortex spaces of the flow above the heating chamber 7 on the upper intermediate floor 13, are vertical partition walls 16, but does not extend through the entire height of the upper container part and are all offset from the lower partition walls 14, as Fig. 3 shows. From each of the lower compartments 6, to 6d, heating tubes 17 go through the heating chamber 7 up to the compartments 18a, 18b, 18, and 18d formed by the upper partition walls 16. The juice is in these tubes from the washing around Steam heats and rises to the upper compartments. It thus passes from the entry compartment 6 ″ into the first upper compartment 18a. There it gives off part of its water content in the form of vapor and becomes a little cooler again, so that, having become heavier, it sinks again through downpipes 19 just like the heating tubes 17 go vertically through the heating chamber 7. They lie in the strips around which the upper partitions 16 are offset from the lower partitions 14 so that they each match the upper section, e.g. 18a, with the lower Connect the department of the next pair of departments, i.e. with 6b. Likewise, the departments 18b are connected with 6, and further 18, with 6d. Therefore, the juice flows through all departments one after the other - alternately rising and falling again, as indicated by the flow arrows in FIG 4 shows that a plurality of heating riser pipes 2o are arranged between each two downpipes ig en and lower partitions are offset from one another, they connect just like the downpipes ig and unlike the previously described heating pipes 17 always' an upper compartment with the associated lower compartment of the adjacent pair of compartments. They serve to maintain the balancing circulation. In -the downpipes ig are hanging pipes ar.- hung by resting at the upper ends with angle supports 22 on the upper intermediate floor 13.
In addition to thickening sugar juices, the idea of the invention is also
applicable to other temperature-sensitive solutions of a similar type.
