Description
The invention relates to the production of active ingredient pastes for controlling plant pests. The production of such or similar products has so far been carried out in emulsion form in such a way that the active ingredient in a solvent or a solvent mixture, ζ. Β. a mineral oil fraction. After adding an emulsifier, the solution became emulsifiable with water. The production of such emulsions is relatively expensive; otherwise, they are not entirely satisfactory either. So z. B. the spray liquors produced therefrom show more or less strong deposits of active ingredients after a short time, which significantly reduces their effectiveness. Another disadvantage is that the content of known emulsions of active ingredients due to the solubility limit thereof must be maintained in the applied solvents is relatively low, and generally only 20 to at most 30 0 "is /; because if certain limits are exceeded there is a risk that the active ingredients will precipitate in solid form if the emulsions are stored for a long period of time. Due to the need to use solvents and additives such as emulsifiers, substances can finally also be introduced into the emulsions that have adverse effects, e.g. B. damage to plants, develop and / or impair the taste of fruits.
Die Erfindung gestattet demgegenüber die Überführung von Wirkstoffen, insbesondere auch von wasserunlöslichen Wirkstoffen, in eine Form, die außer dem Wirkstoff nur Wasser als Träger und geringe Mengen von die OberflächenspannungIn contrast, the invention allows the transfer of active ingredients, in particular also of water-insoluble active ingredients, in a form which, in addition to the active ingredient, only uses water as a carrier and small amounts of the surface tension
Favorably influencing, completely neutrally reacting additives, such as cellulose derivatives, polyvinyl compounds, alginates or the like, contain, are characterized by an almost unlimited shelf life and, when transferred to spray liquors, deliver ready-to-use liquids that contain the active ingredients in such small particle sizes, ζ. Β. from about ι to 5 μ, contain that they remain practically completely in suspension for several hours. The hitherto customary use of solvents for converting the active ingredients into solutions, which in turn were then emulsified with water, is no longer applicable in the present invention. This also has the further advantage that active ingredient concentrates can be produced in paste form which contain considerably larger amounts of active ingredients than before, for example up to 60% and more of the paste, without the risk of premature separation. In some cases it has proven advantageous to improve the stability of the pastes by incorporating small amounts of stabilizers, e.g. B. of spindle oil. In general, however, it is not necessary to add such stabilizers. Finally, it should be mentioned that the spray liquors produced from the active ingredient pastes have excellent adhesion, which was all the less foreseeable since special substances have to be added to the previous preparations to achieve adhesion, which is not necessary with the pastes produced according to the invention.
The pastes according to the invention are produced with the aid of known high-pressure homogenizers, optionally such that first a premix, e.g. B. in a so-called Turbo mixer, is carried out and the premixing is then carried out in a high-pressure homogenizing machine at high pressures, e.g. B. about 150 atmospheres, is homogenized.
The high-pressure homogenization according to the invention can be carried out, for example, as follows: The mixture to be homogenized is conveyed by a multi-piston pump and pressed through a very thin, adjustable gap. ; As a result, the required high pressures are generated in front of the gap. There is complete relaxation behind the gap and the material collides with the very high one. Speed, which it has received from the pressure gradient, on a baffle immediately behind the gap. Hereby the formation of extremely small parts is achieved. The invention is illustrated below using a few examples. According to Examples 1 to 3 pastes with an insecticidal effect and according to Example 4 with a herbicidal effect are produced.
