Diese nach außen radial auslaufenden Metallringe werden mit dem Lagerkörper verschraubt oder durch Anschlagringe in ihrer Lage gesichert. Die axial gerichteten Verschraubungen beanspruchen aber in Verbindung mit Klemmscheiben unerwünscht viel Raum in Richtung der Kurbelwelle, also Raum, der sehr wertvoll ist. Der Konstrukteur muß darauf bedacht sein, Brennkraftmaschinen eine möglichst geringe Baulänge zu verleihen. -Aus diesem Grund wirkt sich erfindungsgemäß die Maßnahme vorteilhaft aus, erstens den bzw. die Lagerkörper, in denen die feststehenden Wälzkörperlaufringe ruhen, nicht oder nicht wesentlich breiter als diese Wälzkörperlaufringe auszuführen und zweitens die schalenförmig ausgebauchten Metallringe in konzentrisch zum Wälzlager verlaufende Nuten der Lagerkörper einzulassen. Die Erfindung ist stets und ausschließlich dann vollendet, wenn beide der genannten Merkmale verwirklicht sind. Zweckmäßig ist es, die Nuten. unter einem Winkel von So bis 45° zur Kurbelwellenachse in den Lagerkörper einzustechen. In diesem Fall braucht dann die Breite der Lagerkörper nicht größer zu sein als die Breite des Wälzlagers. In der Zeichnung ist ein Ausführungsbeispiel der neuen Lagerung dargestellt.
