bzw.-mehreren
Fäden somit zeitlich nacheinander an verschiedenen Stellen beim Durchgang durch
die Maschine statt.Process for the manufacture of electrical cables and wires
The invention relates to a method for the production of electrical cables or lines,
which are wrapped in a braid, for example made of textile threads. The invention
thus relates, for example, to flexible installation lines, such as those used as feed lines
from the socket to electrical appliances or cables, such as
they are used ats portable lines for design in the field, as well
Other installation cables that have a braid as external protection.
-It is already known to insulate electrical conductors by using a tape or
several tapes are not wound onto the conductor in a helical manner as is usually the case
or spun, but parallel to the axis or, as they also say, longitudinal
to be snuggled around the ladder. For this type of insulation there are also tapes
plastic foils have also been used from paper and it is known
the tapes or foils wholly or at least partially on the conductor or with one another
or only to be glued in the area of their overlapping edges. With paper insulation
With this last-mentioned gluing of the edges, it is now still known

Spinning or braiding threads. In this procedure, find the wrapping
of the conductor with the paper tape and the wrapping or braiding with a thread

The invention consists in that during the manufacture of the braid
one or more bands parallel to the cable to be braided into the lace machine
run in with a band or bands of such width that the surface
of the cable to be braided is completely or largely covered. It is
Already known, parallel to the line to be cladded, identification threads and
To let similar structures run into the lace machine, but it has to be
Surprisingly, it turns out that even wide ribbons by the bobbin lace process on
Klöppelpunkt without special precautions carefully around the cable: iegt
when they run parallel to the cable, and so that they are from the braid
be pressed firmly and evenly onto the cable core. It has also been found
that this is not just ribbons made of textile materials or paper, which may be
can be rubberized or otherwise impregnated, but also tapes
rubber-like masses, such as vulcanized and urivulcanized rubber as well as thermoplastic
Masses, such as the known polyvinyl compounds, for example polyvinyl chloride,
Polyisobutylene, tolyacrylate and the like. Even then, the tapes turn out right
nestled evenly around the cable if its width is chosen so that it
exceeds the circumference of the cable to be cladded, especially if you go through it
multiple tours supported.
If the evenness, with the belts greater width in
the lace machine being snuggled around the cable has something surprising, like that
it is also astonishing what technical effects this process has
can be achieved. It is used, for example, as a cable core to be cladded
a stranded conductor, which is insulated with thin plastic foils, has so far been the case
always result in the disadvantage that the applied braid is easy on the foil base
let slide back and forth and that therefore an injury to the foil insulation easily
could enter. However, if you lead a textile band of greater width during the lace-making process
parallel. to the ladder in the lace machine, this creates under the lace
Stocking a textile pad, which allows the braid to move on the base
almost completely eliminated without any additional operation being applied
would have been. In addition, the textile tape provides additional protection for
the cable and also allows especially when it is with a possibly adhesive
Since the mass is still impregnated, the outer mesh should be much wider. as
it has been customary so far, so that a technically flawless product with a considerably
steeper braiding and thus with a considerably cheaper one
Utilization of the lace performance of a machine can be generated. As special
advantageous both for the slip resistance of the mesh on its base
as well as for the failure safety and resilience to impact of the resulting
Material has proven itself when you replace the textile tape described here
a tape made of a thermoplastic mass or of vulcanized or urivulcanized
Rubber leads. A particularly high-quality line was, for example, as follows
generated: The electrical conductor, in this case a stranded conductor; was known in
Way has been insulated by foils and was put together with a tape of a mixture
of polyisobutylene and another polyvinyl compound in the lace making machine
introduced and provided there with a linen thread lace. The tape had one
Thickness of o, z mm and a width which somewhat the circumference of the ladder to be lace
surpassed. There was no further need for the tape to be introduced into the bobbin lace machine
additional devices besides a reel for the tape itself. Under the
Pressure of the applied braid, the tape not only snuggled around the
insulated conductor around, but also welded its edges
a, so daij an almost homogeneous hose around the cable below the braid
originated. The braid's resistance to shifting was on his
Underlay as considerable as it was previously produced in a similar way
Lines has not yet been found. To this high slip resistance of the braid
came the higher mechanical strength caused by the plastic layer
the line.
Instead of the isobutylene described here, they are of course suitable
also many other thermoplastic masses for the production of such a homogeneous one
Protective layer, provided that the masses are sufficiently soft and sticky.
A compound of similar softness and stickiness is also urivulcanized rubber
made of artificial or natural rubber. One can do that under the pressure of the braid
Accelerate going homogenization of the layer by the fact that
The finished braided line is subjected to a heat treatment which is more or less
and it is even possible, if used, to cause severe deliquescence of the material
vulcanizable tapes the finished cable for the purpose of vulcanizing the layer
expose to the necessary temperatures.
There are a number of thermoplastics that don't
or can only be drawn into very thin ribbons in a very difficult way.
Polyisobutylene, which has already been mentioned several times, belongs to such substances
the blends of polyisobutylene and other polyvinyl compounds found in
have proven to be quite beneficial in many relationships. To also tapes from this
Use material in a sufficiently small thickness in the method according to the invention
To be able to do so, it is only necessary to use the tape: between the reel for the tape and
.the clapper point
stretch out to the desired thickness. One can
this can be achieved simply by braking the tape supply reel appropriately or
by leading the tape over a trigger which has a slower running speed
has than the speed of the cable of the Klöppelmasch.ime, or finally can
you pull the tape through narrowing cross-sections, as done elsewhere
is described. It has been shown that such an extension, which under
simultaneous application of heat can go on in the inventive
Procedure can be carried out conveniently.
Finally, it has been found that in the manner according to the invention
in a single operation an excellently insulated and firmly adhering one
Abrasion-resistant braiding provided cable can be made by one for the purpose
the insulation a suitably selected tape that overlaps at the edges
made of thermoplastic material at the same time as the bare conductor or bare
Lets wire strand run into the bobbin lace machine and through the applied braid,
which itself provides good mechanical protection for the ladder, firmly around the ladder
lets press around.
