Es ist ohne weiteres möglich, bei geeigneter Auswahl des Folienmaterials und des Klebemittels auf die angegebene Weise widerstandsfähige, hoch beanspruchbare Hochspannungsadern billiger herzustellen, als durch die übliche Papier-Masseisolation. Ausserdem haben die erfindungsgemässen Adern den Vorteil, bei geeigneter Auswahl des Materials völlig unhygroskopisch zu sein, weshalb es möglich wird, bei Zusam- menfassung mehrerer derartiger Adern zu einem Kabel ohne einen Bleimantel auszu kommen;
Insulated electrical conductor, process for its manufacture and device for carrying out the process. The present invention relates to an insulated electrical conductor, a method for its manufacture and a device for performing the method.
To insulate electrical conductors, for example, it is customary to coat them with a layer of lacquer. The lacquer layer is applied by passing the cleaned conductor, for example a wire, through a solution of the substance to be lacquered, so that it is completely wetted with this solution; The solvent is then evaporated using heat, leaving a thin film of lacquer on the wire.
The invention relates to the insulating covering of the conductor. According to the invention, the electrical conductor is surrounded by an insulating covering made of at least one band of plastic film, which band surrounds the conductor in such a way that its edges run parallel to the conductor nose.
The film can be firmly glued to the conductor, or the overlapping edges of the tape can be glued together so that a closed envelope is created around the conductor.
An embodiment of the method according to the invention will be explained using an example. A foil strip of cellulose hydrate with a thickness of 1/1 "0 mm is passed together with a copper wire to be insulated through a nipple, which wraps the tape around the copper wire. Instead of the nipple, a roller arrangement, for example consisting of three against each other, can be used set rollers or rubber rollers, used primordial earth,
which wraps the tape around the wire in a manner known per se. If the band of cellulose hydrate is moistened here and, in the moist state, it nestles around the conductor so that its edges overlap, and if the conductor provided with the band is dried after leaving the nipple or. the roller arrangement, the tape nestles tightly around the Lei ter due to the contraction forces occurring during drying. In other cases, it is useful to glue the foil tape to the conductor, for example with a rubber solution, which then provides good moisture protection for the tape at the same time.
After the final completion, the conductor can be fed through a smooth nipple.
Instead of the film tape made of cellulose hydrate described here, for example from the product known under the name "cellophane", other film tapes can of course also be used, for example those made of cellulose acetate, cellulose triacetate and the like, or film tapes made of polyvinyl compounds, such as poly styrene, polyvinyl chloride and the like. More.
In the case of foils made of thermoplastic material, it is advisable to work at a higher temperature when laying the foil around the conductor in order to make the foil strips easier to deform and to achieve a good adhesive fit on the metal base. Polyvinyl compounds, such as the abovementioned polyvinyl chloride, will be used in particular if protection against moisture or chemical attacks is to be achieved.
A hardening synthetic resin, for example synthetic resin known under the trademark Bakelite, can be used as an adhesive.
A method for laying the tape around, which will be described below, has proven particularly useful. The common adhesives that could be used to adhere the tape to the conductor have a number of disadvantages; If you use a watery glue and at the same time a tape made of cellulose hydrate (for example "cellophane"), the tape is softened by the water and the process of laying it around is unnecessary.
If a rubber solution is used, the disadvantage is that the tape makes it difficult for the solvent to evaporate, so that firm adhesion of the tape to the wire surface or the tapes to one another is only achieved after a lengthy drying process.
Thin ribbons made from the above materials are expediently glued to the wire with the aid of a plasticizer that is sticky at higher temperatures. The term "thermoplastic" is understood here to mean the property that the agent is liquid or liquid at elevated temperature. is more plastic than the temperature used for the wire.
Bitumen, for example, is such an agent. For example, a copper wire, which is to be surrounded with a thin insulating layer, is initially covered with a fine coating of bitumen, which itself can have a thickness of 1/1 ", mm and less. This cover can be done by the wire is pulled through hot bitumen and the excess bitumen is stripped off. The foil tape is now fed to the heated wire, which is covered with the sticky uitumen, and wrapped around it so that its edges overlap or abut parallel or almost parallel to the Run the ladder axis.
As soon as the bitumen layer has cooled down, it forms a solid layer that holds the film in place. In this way, an enamelled wire is created which is externally indistinguishable from an enamelled wire produced according to the solution method and whose electrical and mechanical properties are at least as good as those of this wire. In contrast, the production of the wire can be carried out so easily and so quickly that the wire has considerable economic advantages over the enamelled wire.
If you apply a film tape made of the above-mentioned substances to the wire covered with bitumen or the like in the manner indicated above, you still have to ensure that the edges of the tape stick together at the point of overlap. In FIG. 1 of the drawing, the wire 1, which is surrounded with a thin layer of bitumen, is wrapped in the film 2 made of cellulose. The foil strip 2 completely encloses the bare conductor, but an edge strip 3 goes beyond the complete enclosure and must be fixed on the part of the foil already connected to the conductor.
It is most expedient not to glue this edge strip 3 also with hot bitumen, but to use a different gluing method here. The easiest way is to use an aqueous glue and a rotating nipple to place the rag on the base at a point in the entire manufacturing process when the bitumen layer has already hardened and the parts of the tape that are in direct contact with the wire are already glued. This means that the first gluing process is no longer influenced by the second.
The easiest way, however, is to avoid the point of overlap at all and choose the width of the film so precisely that the edges close together without gaps. This is particularly recommended when several layers of films are applied one on top of the other, whereby of course, the joints between the individual layers will be offset against one another. Any number of layers can be applied one above the other in the given manner, depending on the intended area of use.
Here you will bezw in particular special the chemically neutral and water-insoluble. Moisture-resistant materials, such as polyvinyl chloride, should advantageously be used at least for the outer film layer.
Instead of the bitumen, which has mainly been mentioned here, mixtures of bitumen with natural or synthetic resins and waxes and these themselves, provided they meet the requirements stipulated here, can of course also be used. The method for gluing on the film tape can also be carried out in such a way that a film tape is coated on one side with a thermoplastic adhesive, for example bitumen, dried and then applied to the wire mentioned. In this case, the tape sticks to the overlap points without difficulty.
The film strip can be coated in the usual way with the aid of a coating solution. For example, a thin solution of bitumen in trichlorethylene has proven to be effective. It will be useful to cut out the foil strips from large coated strips of the foil material.
In Fig. 2 of the accompanying drawings, an example device for loading the conductor (wires or strands) is shown ge according to the invention.
The conductor 1 is guided with the film tape 2 in the direction of the arrow through a bath of the adhesive not signed here, then through a nipple 3, whereby a guide 4 causes the film tape to run into the nipple with overlapping edges. Such conductors provided with ribbons can easily be made if the edges are also provided with an adhesive on the outside. This property can be used to glue on a further layer, which is applied, for example, by spinning or longitudinal covering.
An example of a device for practicing the new method, which has proven itself particularly well, is explained with reference to the purely schematic drawing FIG. The metallic conductor 1 is withdrawn from a prior rat drum D and expediently passes through guide devices 15, 16 and optionally after passing through a heating device H to a guide 14, which is fed to him at point 12 from a supply drum Di, more or less wide film strip 13 supplies. The guide ensures that the same point of the film strip width is always applied to the conductor.
This foil tape can be coated beforehand with an adhesive on the one side later facing the conductor by an application device A known in some branches of the art. Through the device, for example, a bitumen dissolved in a solvent can be applied; the solvent evaporates on the way from the application device A to the guide 14, so that only a very thin bitumen layer remains, which when heated, in particular through the heat supplied to the wire 1 by means of the device H, then becomes adhesive. However, other adhesives can also be used.
After the foil strip 13 at 1? is placed essentially tangentially to the conductor, it comes to a guide and pressure device, which in the example consists of a cord 15 made of elastic material, which is attached at B at one end and by a weight C or the like acting on the other end. is kept slightly tensioned and wraps around the conductor in a partial helical turn.
The arrangement is such that the guide and pressure device 15 first hits the tape 13 at .einem point between its two side edges and initially presses it slightly against the conductor at this point and then progresses from there to an edge, in the example towards the right edge, clinging to the ladder in a helical manner. This nestling around the conductor is due to the fact that the protruding edge strip of the foil tape is grasped by the guiding and pressing device 15 and forced to rest firmly against the circumference of the conductor so that it can slide through the device 15.
Instead of such a device 15, several can be arranged one behind the other, which gradually or progressively bring about the slight pressing. Under the effect of the heating dureli the device H respectively. of the adhesive application through the device A, the pressed foil tape part adheres firmly to the conductor.
The device 15 described so far does not counteract the movement of the structure as a result of the slight contact pressure and the low coefficient of friction between the contact cord and the film. In spite of this, however, the smooth nestling of the film up to one edge is completely ensured.
Now the structure 1, 13 comes to a further guide device 16, which in turn consists in the example of a weakly tensioned GE cord, which is attached to Bi at one end, while the other end is held slightly tense by a weight Ci or the like becomes.
This cord <B> 16 </B> is also helical, but looped opposite to the device or devices 15 and surrounds the conductor 1 in a full or in several successive n screw windings. Z 'While the device 15 had pressed the right edge of the foil strip, the device 1.6 causes the left edge to nestle around the conductor under gentle pressure,
where the bandwidth can be so large. that if you wish, you can nestle around several times.
Instead of the guide device 16, it is also possible to use a plurality of partial guide devices which progressively act in the same way, each of which therefore only encompasses the conductor along a short visual line similar to the device 15.
The device or devices 16 are also arranged in such a way that they act progressively towards the other edge, in the example towards the left edge, from a part of the band remote from the edge, which was already fixed by the device 15.
After leaving the device 16, the conductor arrives via a guide roller or guide rollers R to a winding drum D2 as a finished insulated conductor. The guide devices 15, 16 consist of tapes, cords or threads of such materials are suitable to hug the sensitive film with gentle pressure on the ladder, for example made of cords, profiled cords or ribbons of any suitable cross-section or material, for example cotton or other fibrous materials, or made of rubber, leather and the like. more.
So that the guiding and pressing devices 15, 16, consisting for example of cords, act with even pressure on the surface of the conductor passing through, it is expedient to attach the cords, for example, by hanging a weight C respectively. To keep Ci tense.
As has been described elsewhere, the foil tape can be covered with bitumen or the like as an adhesive. In this case, the wire will be allowed to run warm into the guide device so that the film is firmly attached to the conductor when the adhesive cools.
It is of particular importance that the device according to the invention can be used to produce a conductor with a multilayered insulation in the simplest possible way. For this purpose, the width of the foil tape is to be dimensioned so that the tape can be wrapped around the conductor two or more times, so that the conductor can be produced with a double or multiple insulation layer in just one operation and using only one foil.
While the speed of the work process is relatively small in the usual painting method, the method according to the invention can be used very quickly. This makes the method according to the invention particularly suitable for the production of rubber-insulated electrical copper conductors in which, instead of the usual tin-plating, a lacquer layer has been applied to the copper conductor.
For this purpose, the device described here for enveloping conductors with a thin film can advantageously be placed directly in front of the shearing machine or the injection molding machine which applies the rubber insulation to the conductor. In this case, it is generally not necessary to firmly glue the foil to the bare copper conductor or to glue its edges together, since the rubber layer firmly presses the overlapping edges of the foil strip onto one another.
The method according to the invention for covering a conductor has the advantage that the thin protective layer can be conveniently removed from the conductor in a few simple steps when making conductor ends blank. If, for example, a thin rubber line is made for installation purposes, in which a foil tape is applied in the manner according to the invention instead of the tin, the foil tape can be conveniently pulled from the bare conductor at the same time as the rubber.
The use of the insulating film in place of tin for rubber lines has the further advantage that the rubber wall thickness does not have to be selected as large as has been customary up to now. For example, in the case of the installation line mentioned above, when using the wire insulated according to the invention, a rubber layer brought up with the shearing machine is sufficient; while it was previously common to apply two coats.
The wire produced in this way can then either be braided or wrapped with a fabric tape or stranded with several wires together to form a multi-core cable.
It is in hand, through the correct selection of the adhesive and the film, to create an insulated wire whose elec trical properties are far better than those of the enameled wires produced by the usual method. In addition, by selecting the color of the adhesive and the film, the wire can be produced in any color, in colors that are more embossed than those of ordinary enameled wires, since the adhesive and the material from which the film to be glued is made up only a suitable color pigment needs to be added.
In addition, it should be noted at once that the frequency of errors in the wire produced by the method according to the invention is much lower than that of an ordinary enamelled wire. Wires with a single or two glued-on film layers fall into the area of application of the enamelled wires and jumper wires and, like these, can be surrounded with a layer of cotton or a rubber layer or the like.
If you apply two or three layers of the foil to the wire, you already have such a resistant insulation that you can use such a wire directly in place of the usual rubber cores for installation cables, especially if you have at least the outermost layer or the most Produces layers from a 3-material that is chemically and moisture-resistant. It is also advantageous to apply these insensitive layers alternating with layers which are dielectrically particularly high, that is to say have a high dielectric strength.
The dielectric values can also be systematically influenced by choosing the thickness of the individual layers differently, in particular by allowing the layer thickness to increase from the inside out. If necessary, you can still put a cotton tape on the top layer or. stick on, or a thin water-repellent layer, e.g. B. from wax or the like. Apply. The greater the number of layers applied, the greater the mechanical strength and dielectric strength.
It is easily possible, with a suitable selection of the film material and the adhesive, to produce resistant, highly stressable high-voltage cores in the specified manner more cheaply than with the usual paper ground insulation. In addition, the cores according to the invention have the advantage of being completely unhygroscopic if the material is suitably selected, which is why it is possible to manage without a lead sheath when several such cores are combined to form a cable;
In addition, it should be noted that the flammability of such an insulation is not considerable and can be almost completely eliminated by adding agents known per se to the adhesive and the film material.
The conductor according to the invention can also be designed as an ozone-proof and corrosion-proof conductor with an insulation of high dielectric strength, especially for the purposes of high voltage. The insulation of the conductor, which can be a solid conductor or a stranded wire, can consist of a large number of very thin layers of a glass skin film that are glued to one another. The number of these foils depends on the electrical conditions. For example, two to four foils that are thinner than <B> '/ "", </B> mm, e.g. B. have a thickness of i / 1 "" to 3 / "" "mm, who used the.
However, the number of layers can also be increased as required. The easiest way to make the conductor with four layers is to put two ribbons around the conductor, each of which loops around the conductor twice.
The wires insulated according to the invention are also excellently suited for the construction of multi-core installation lines. Multi-core installation lines are generally constructed in such a way that several cores insulated with rubber are provided with one another, that they are provided with a common filling and by a protective sheath, consisting of either an injection-molded plastic sleeve or a folded sheet metal jacket, which may be provided with a corrosion protection, are encased. The insulation of an insulated wire according to the invention for such multi-core installation lines does not or only partly consists of rubber, on the other hand it can consist of several layers of a thin film which are glued to one another.
The number of these foils depends on the electrical conditions; For example, two to four foils with a thickness of 1/2 "to 3 / 10o mm can be used. The number of layers can, however, also be increased as desired. For a number of areas of application, on the other hand, a single layer is used The individual cores of a multi-core installation cable can be made distinguishable from one another by at least the top layer being colored differently from core to core.
Furthermore, when using several foil strips, these can be stuck onto the conductor at the same time. The various foil tapes can also be glued to one another before being placed on the conductor.
If it is said that the tape edges run parallel to the conductor nose, then such deviations in the position of the tape to the conductor should also be encompassed where the tape edges once the conductor over longer lengths of the conductor, for example 10 to 20m in length to close.
