Die Fliesen d werden dabei auf einem Tisch e mit einer senkrecht stehenden festen Seitenwand f, die für die flach liegenden Wandfliesen als Widerlager dient, vorgeschoben und zuerst in einem Arbeitsgang .durch die Schleifscheibe c an dem einen Rand a und darauf nachdem Umlegen der Fliesen in der gleichen oder einer sich daran anschließenden anderen Vorrichtung in einem anderen Arbeitsgang an dem Rand: b geschliffen. Dieses Verfahren ist infolge der sehr kleinen Berührungsfläche zwischen Werkstück und Werkzeug sehr zeitraubend, und es erfordert außerdem ein häufiges Nachstellen der sich stark abnutzenden Schleifscheiben.
