Storage and/or transport containers with closure

The invention relates to a storage and/or transport container made of dimensionally stable material according to the preamble of claim 1.

Such a container, which is described in DE-GS 92 07 993.8, is also referred to as a reusable industrial container and can be used in many areas of industry and trade for the storage and transport of goods. The identical design of the two half-boxes of a container eliminates the otherwise necessary pairing of a lower part with a matching upper part or lid. This greatly simplifies not only the production of the half-boxes, but also the actual packaging process and the subsequent return and reuse. The automatic treatment devices, such as cleaning and stacking systems, also only need to be designed and set up for one part, namely a half-box. The containers made up of two half-boxes can be stacked on top of each other to save space when full, with the upper part of a container designed as a lid serving as a base for the lower part of the stacked container. When empty, the half boxes can be stacked inside each other to reduce expensive storage and transport capacities.

After putting two half-boxes together, the problem often arises of preventing the container from being opened accidentally. The simplest way to do this is to use adhesive strips, as is usual with packing containers. However, opening the container is then difficult and the adhesive strip residues are a nuisance when reusing it. Other closures are also conceivable, e.g. bandages, but these can then be lost after opening and also hinder stacking.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a simple, safe and universal closure for a container of the type mentioned at the beginning. The solution to the problem is characterized in claim 1.

Since the fastening strap is attached to the half-box so that it cannot be lost, it is always available for reuse. To separate the two half-boxes of a container from each other, it is only necessary to grasp the free end of the fastening strap and pull it off the locking knob of the other half-box. There is also the advantage that when the closure is released, the container can be pulled out of a stack at the same time. This is useful, for example, if the container is replacing a shoe box and the salesperson in the shoe shop is to pull it out of the respective stack. In the case of two fastenings facing each other, for example on the front wall of a container, after the fastening strap on one front wall has been released, the fastening strap on the opposite front wall can also serve as a hinge without releasing the closure.

The fastening band can be embedded in the front and/or side wall of the half-box. The fastening band is inserted into the respective injection mold when a half-box is made of plastic and can be made of a different material, for example a more elastic material, than the half-box.

The locking knobs are conveniently designed in the form of a bar that is arranged on the outside of the front and/or side wall and rises from the upper edge of this wall. At the end, the bar merges into the outer wall with a recess and forms a locking lug into which the fastening strap with a hole can be hooked or snapped into.

If the outer limiting web of the half boxes runs around one half of the box, it is advisable to provide an interruption in the area of the locking knob.

The half-box 10 shown in perspective in Fig. 2 has a substantially rectangular base plate 11 and two front and side walls 12, 13. The walls 12, 13 are at an angle of, for example, 15° to the vertical

tilted outwards. This means that identical half-boxes 10 can be inserted into one another when empty and can therefore be stored and transported in a space-saving manner. After two half-boxes 10 have been put together as shown in Fig. 1, a closed container is created. The two half-boxes 10 are secured in position by a web 14 running around the top edge of half of each half-box 10. In addition, locking projections 15 can be arranged on the top edge of the half-boxes 10, which penetrate into matching recesses 16 in the other half-box 10.

On the front wall 12 of the lower half box 10 in Fig. 1, a fastening band made of elastic plastic with one or more holes 18 is inserted into the front wall 12 and fastened to it. This is done during the production of the half boxes 10 using the injection molding process by inserting and cutting the band 17 to length. On the opposite front wall 12 of the half box 10, as shown by the attached, identical half box 10 in Fig. 1, a locking knob 19 is provided, into which the band 17 can be hooked with its hole 18, as shown by the upper position of the band 17.

Fig. 3 and 4 show the locking knob 19 in more detail. In Fig. 4 it can be seen that the locking knob rises in the form of a ramp from the upper edge of the front wall 12 and has a recess 20 at the end. This creates a locking lug 21 for hanging and locking the band 17. The surrounding web 14 has a recess 22 so that the band 17 can reach the locking knob 19 unhindered.

Claims (4)

Protection claims 1. Storage and/or transport containers made of dimensionally stable material with an upper and lower part in the form of mutually complementary, identical half-boxes (10), which have a substantially rectangular base (11) and two front and side walls (12, 13), the front and side walls being inclined outwards at an angle to the vertical, so that empty half-boxes (10) can be stacked one inside the other and offset by 180° to one another with the upper edges of the walls meeting one another to form a closed container, and to secure the position of the assembled half-boxes (10), one or more outer boundary webs (14) projecting beyond the upper edge of the wall are arranged complementarily to one another on the outside of the side and/or front walls (12, 13), characterized in that that for the mutual fastening of half boxes (10) placed on top of one another with their upper wall edges, a perforated fastening band (17) is arranged on the upper edge of a front and/or side wall (12, 13), which can be snapped into a locking knob (19) arranged on the opposite front and/or side wall (12, 13). 2.
