Abstract

A description is given of a urinal with water flush to which a liquid additive is mixed. Urinal with flush and additive

The subject of the innovation is a urinal with flush and additive with the features of the preamble of claim 1.

In such urinals, it is known that an additive is added in addition to the water flush. This additive is supposed to reduce odors, clean, disinfect and dissolve limescale and urine stones.

It is known to add such a liquid additive to the flush water via a box mounted outside and above the urinal bowl, whereby the box is attached to the wall. However, this has the disadvantage of requiring more space for the separate installation of the tank for the liquid additive and for its dosing. Due to the space required, the tank only has a relatively small capacity for the liquid additive.

It is also known to add an additive in tablet form loosely into the urinal. However, the additive cannot be dosed precisely, so that for safety reasons one usually overdoses, with the well-known negative consequences for environmental pollution.

The innovation is therefore based on the task of developing a urinal with flushing and liquid additive in such a way that a large amount of additive can be safely introduced into the urinal without requiring additional space.

The technical teaching of claim 1 serves to solve the problem posed.

The key feature of the innovation is that the tank that holds the additive is now located in the free space of the urinal bowl and that the additive is automatically added to the urinal bowl each time it is flushed.

There are several options for adding the additive during flushing.

In a first embodiment of the innovation, it is provided that a mixing part is present which essentially contains a Venturi nozzle which is fed by the water inlet of the domestic water pipe and which due to its suction pressure sucks in the additive from the tank installed in the urinal bowl and doses it into the flush water. This has the advantage of ensuring a reliable mixing device which works without external energy.

Since the urinal bowl has a relatively large free space beyond the bowl part, which is necessary to install a siphon in the lower part, this now offers the advantage that a tank with a relatively large capacity to hold the additive can be installed in the free space of the urinal bowl, preferably at the back of the urinal bowl.

Another advantage is that this tank is easy to fill, because the corresponding filling openings can be installed on the top of the urinal bowl, where they are easily accessible.

In the case of the known additional devices arranged on the wall outside the urinal bowl, these had to be installed so high above the urinal bowl

installed, making it difficult to fill the tank. This problem is eliminated by the present innovation.

As a second embodiment of the addition of the additive to the rinsing water, a dosing unit is provided, which again works without external energy and is only acted upon by the pressure of the domestic water connection. A piston can be arranged so that it can move in a cylinder chamber, whereby the displacement of the piston exerts suction pressure on the suction line of the additional tank, which agent is then sucked into the cylinder in a metered manner via this suction line and expelled from the cylinder with another piston stroke. The addition then takes place not in the rinsing jet, but via a separate outlet nozzle that is washed over by the rinsing water.

In a third embodiment, a diaphragm dispenser is provided instead of the piston dispenser. Instead of the aforementioned dosing devices, other dosing units can be used, such as a hydraulic motor actuated by the domestic water pressure, a hose pump and the like.

The subject matter of the present innovation arises not only from the subject matter of the individual protection claims, but also from the combination of the individual protection claims with one another.

All information and features disclosed in the documents - including the summary if applicable -, in particular the spatial configuration shown in the drawings, are claimed as essential to the invention, insofar as they are new compared to the prior art, individually or in combination.

According to Figure 1, the urinal bowl 1 consists of a bowl part 2, on the front edge of which an annular channel 6 is arranged, which has flushing nozzles 7 directed into the bowl. These flushing nozzles 7 can either be present in a point-like manner or there can be an outlet channel running all the way around, which acts as a flushing nozzle 7.

At the bottom of the basin part 2, an outlet is provided in a known manner, to which a siphon 9 is connected.

The back of the urinal bowl 1 has a free space 3 in which a tank 12 with a relatively high capacity for holding an additive is installed. This tank 12 is filled from an upper filling opening 26 via a line 27. It has a discharge line 11 which opens into a mixing part 10.

The domestic water flows through the water inlet 15 and an angle valve 14 into the pipe 13, which also flows into the mixing part 10. The pipe 16 is connected to the outlet of the mixing part 10 and carries the flushing water

mixed with the additive. This line 16 opens into a recess 17 in the upper part of the ring channel 6, so that when it flows into this recess 17 the rinsing water mixed with the additive is distributed over the entire ring channel 6 and flows over the entire length of the ring channel via the rinsing nozzles 7 into the basin part 2.

The flushing process can be triggered by a flush button, which is not shown in detail. The flush button is assigned a solenoid valve 5, which is controlled by an electronic component 4.

Instead of using a solenoid valve 5, valves that operate without external energy can of course also be used.

The mixing part 10 according to Figure 1 is shown in more detail in Figure 2. The fresh water 13 enters a Venturi nozzle 18, which sucks in the additive from the tank 12 from the line 11 and at the same time releases it mixed into the line 16.

It can also be provided that an air line J.9 is attached so that not only additives are sucked in from line 11, but also air via line 19. This has the advantage that the entire mixing device acts as a foam injector and a water-foam mixture can be released via line 16, which is flushed in finely distributed in the basin part 2.

In the embodiment according to Figure 3, a piston dispenser is shown, whereby the water supply via line 13 can be shut off by a solenoid valve 20. The fresh water enters the upper cylinder chamber of the cylinder 23 and presses a piston 22 downwards against a spring.

As soon as the solenoid valve 20 switches and releases the upper cylinder chamber from the water pressure via a corresponding outlet line, the

Piston 22 moves upwards under the force of the spring and thus sucks the additive out of the tank from the lower cylinder chamber via line 11. With a further downward actuation of the piston 22, the additive is then released to the outside via line 24 and is fed directly into the recess 17 at the upper edge of the ring channel 6 in the basin part 2.

The additive is removed and released through check valves 25.

Instead of the dosing unit 21 shown here, which is designed as a piston dosing device, an identical arrangement as a diaphragm dosing device is possible. Instead of moving a piston 22 in a cylinder 23, the change in shape of a diaphragm would then be used to suck in and expel the additive via the lines 11 and 24.

As already mentioned above, the dosing unit 21 can also be designed as a hydraulic motor that is operated with the house water pressure.

The advantages of adding an additive from a tank with a relatively high capacity are that the urinal bowl achieves a self-cleaning effect because the additive can be mixed with a relatively high concentration. At the same time, the urinal bowl is sterilized and because of the high dosage of the agent, a strong limestone and urine stone dissolving effect can be achieved at the same time. This saves significant cleaning costs that would otherwise be incurred.
