Electromechanical pulse generator

The invention relates to the quantity-proportional pulse generation on gas meters for recording purposes, for monitoring, for controlling quantity converters and other purposes.

Pulse sensors on gas meters are known as built-in sensors and plug-in sensors (additional devices).

The plug-on pulse generators are usable, but usually have inadequate protection against contamination (only covers) and, in special designs, considerable disadvantages with regard to installation on the gas meter.

The invention is based on the object of eliminating the disadvantages mentioned and of creating a stable, universal and, above all, fully encapsulated device.

The goal is achieved by:

1. The device was constructed in the form of an assembly system.

2. Replaceable flanges and carriers allow installation on all common gas meter types.

3. A gearbox ¹¹ G" with the same design for all types and versions enables a wide range of adjustments between the respective rotational values of the gas meter output shafts and the desired output pulse values.

4. Three types of pulse generation are possible, namely by "Reed ^H" contacts, by inductive NAMUR sensors and by "Wiegand wires ^11" , also mixed.

5. The electrical connection is possible either via terminals "K ^11" or precision connector "S".

6. The devices are always designed in electrical protection class IP.

7. The housing parts are made of aluminum and are anodized.

8. The installation on so-called " ^ll Braun" plates on bellows gas meters is possible without the usual difficulties due to a special design of the attachment parts.

The pulse generator consists of the gear ¹¹ G", which is screwed onto the base plate "1" or "2". With type 1, it is possible to mount different flanges (depending on the meter type) on the base plate. Various drivers can also be mounted. This version (type 1) is intended for attachment to turbine wheel meters, helical gear meters, rotary piston meters and high-pressure bellows meters.

When mounting on the base plate "2" (type 2), only one version is possible, namely the one for bellows gas meters with "Braurf mounting plate".

2 different versions of the pressure circuit enable electrical connection via terminals (version ¹¹ K") or via a precision plug connection (version ¹¹ S").

Regardless of the connection type " ¹ K" or "S", the pressure circuit can be equipped with up to 3 "Reed" contacts or with up to 3 NAMUR sensors. A mixed configuration is also possible. A third option for generating pulses uses the so-called "Wiegand wire" to generate pulses, which enables very high resolutions.

The completely assembled unit (assembly group 1 or 2, gear, pressure switch) is installed in the short housing "R" when only using "Reed" contacts. When using NAMUR sensors, mixed versions or when using a high-resolution "Wiegand wire" rotor, the long housing "I" is required.

All versions are closed with the cover "D", which also bears the factory plate. For the long housing "I", the additional cover "I" must also be fitted.

All housing parts are made of solid aluminum and anodized to protect against corrosion.

Achievable benefits:

A gas meter pulse generator constructed according to the invention is characterized by its compact design (smaller than known devices), its very stable aluminum housing and the corrosion-resistant surface due to anodization.

A 7-axis precision gearbox allows a very wide range of adjustments between the rotational values of the gas meter output shafts and the desired pulse values of the sensor outputs. The torque requirement is very low and is below the maximum values permitted for the gas meters.

Attaching the pulse generator to the gas meters is simple and problem-free, including mounting on bellows gas meters that are equipped with a so-called "brown plate".

The small number of components for all types enables efficient and therefore cost-effective production.

When using appropriate approved Ex isolation stages, the pulse generators can be operated in Zone 1 Ex rooms at any time (intrinsically safe operation).
