Reusable spool for winding and unwinding thread, tape or tubular goods, for example ropes, profile tapes or hoses made of various materials, which can be easily folded up without the use of tools after the goods have been unwound and the sleeve removed if necessary.

This creates a flat disc that enables an extraordinary massing of the empties in order to reduce return transport, transport volume, storage space and energy consumption - not to mention the simplification of handling and transport safety due to the precise positioning of the stacking segments.

The object of the invention is to develop a reusable spool that is inexpensive to manufacture, lightweight, non-corrosive, requires no post-treatment, is easy to assemble and disassemble, can be stacked to reduce volume and is reusable in terms of material.

The invention relates to a reusable spool, designed in such a way that in the case of a plastic version with film hinges only one mold is required to produce the complete spool. The film hinges are then located on the folding segments, which form the core of the spool when unfolded.

In order to give the coil core stability and to protect the winding material from deformation, it can be provided with a sleeve. This can be made of strip material and provided with self-locking or plug-in end connections.

Preparing an empty spool for return transport is very simple - remove the sleeve and fold the spool into a disc.

The material used to manufacture the reusable spool and the cuff, including the film hinges, is plastic, which ensures a high recycling rate and takes ecological and economic aspects into account.

Depending on the storage or mode of transport, any number of reusable spools can be stacked on top of each other as flat discs, or sleeves can be placed on top of each other as bands.

For logistical and cost reasons, the same transport units are usually used for return deliveries as for delivery. This means that many times more empties are transported back per transport unit, with a high return rate and a lower driving cycle.

It can also be said that in terms of the storage space required for storing reusable spools, the type of disc version shown here is the most economical.

Design of the reusable coil.

The reusable spool is one-piece and is preferably made of plastic.

The coil body (1) Fig. 1 is circular and consists of segments (2) Fig. 1, which taper towards the center of the circle and form a free opening.

The side parts of the coil are designed similarly and are connected to each other via the inner segment ends (3) Fig. 1.

The connection points and the bends are designed to be much thinner than the flat elements. 3 (Fig.l)

The segments on the outside of the coil are designed to fit alternately as segment recesses (5) Fig. 1 and segment elevations (6) Fig. 1 and Fig. 2.

The segment arrangement is even.

After unfolding the coil, the cuff (4) Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 is placed as a band around the spread folding segments (2) Fig. 2 and Fig. 3.

The cuff (4) Fig. 3 can be fixed with safety ends.

Use of the reusable coil

The reusable spool is delivered as a flat disc (Fig. 4).

It is unfolded for use. The central opening opens to the size of the reel, which is usually required for winding or unwinding the winding material. Fig. 3

The reusable reel is usually filled with goods.
