Diese Doppel-Zither, welche die gleichzeitige Benutzung eines Instrumentes durch zwei Personen ermöglicht, besteht aus einem gemeinschaftlichen Körper mit zwei Griffbrettern, zwei Schalllöchern und zwei Besaitungen in der Anordnung, wie sie Fig. 1 der Zeichnung zeigt.This double zither, which allows two people to use one instrument at the same time allows, consists of a common body with two fingerboards, two Sound holes and two strings in the arrangement as shown in Fig. 1 of the drawing.
Damit die beiden Spielenden sich der Noten bedienen können, ist hier nöthig, dafs das Notenpult auf der Zither selbst angebracht werde. Dasselbe, Fig. 2, besteht aus messingenen, an ihren Enden drehbar miteinander vernieteten Bändern b, b' und c, an welchen die zum Trageii der Notenblätter dienenden kleinen Halter d angebracht sind. Um das Pult aufzustellen, werden die T-förmigen Träger/ einerseits in die an den beiden Bändern bl befindlichen Oesen e, andererseits bei aa, Fig. 1, in die Zither eingesteckt. Die Träger / bestehen aus einem Stück Eisendraht, an. dem mittelst Niete eine Schiene befestigt ist, die an beiden Enden so zugespitzt ist, dafs man sie leicht in die Oesen e stecken kann. Nach dem Gebrauche entfernt man die Träger, worauf die Bänder c, die man zum Gebrauche unten aus einander gezogen hat, sich wieder zusammenlegen, und das Pult ist nun entweder so, oder nachdem man noch das Band b mittelst schräger Abwärtsbewegung zwischen die Bänder b' geschoben hat, leicht im Zither-Etuis unterzubringen.In order for both players to be able to use the notes, it is necessary here that the music stand be attached to the zither itself.
