Description

The invention relates to a window, a barrier grille &ogr;. the like with spaced-apart grille bars for insertion into a building opening.

It is known to protect grilles for windows or other building openings against burglars by having the individual vertical grille bars made of a tube as a casing into which loose metal rods are inserted in such a way that they rotate when attacked with a saw.

The object of the invention is to improve a window, a barrier grille etc. in such a way that the rotatably mounted metal rods at the end rotate particularly easily without significant friction and their end support is also rotatably mounted.

According to the invention, this object is achieved in a window, a barrier grille, etc. of the aforementioned type in that the vertical givLor bars are supported on a round crossbeam which is freely rotatably mounted in a lower U-profile or the like.

The lower beam is preferably mounted in a (closed) box profile so that it can rotate and extends in its longitudinal direction.

Because the bars are perpendicular to it, their lower end faces only have a linear contact with the crossbeam and therefore show only little friction, so that rotation occurs even more easily when a saw is applied.

In a preferred embodiment, not only the vertical bars but also the crossbeam are made of manganese steel or ceramic, which has a very high strength and therefore cannot be destroyed with conventional burglary tools. The casing of the bars can preferably be made of a square V^-A steel.

In a further preferred embodiment, the end box profile is formed as a cross box from two overlapping or interlocking U-profiles. First, the U-profile on the wall side can be attached. To do this, the cross box is loosely inserted and then, after attachment, covered with another U-profile that has upper through-holes for the vertical bars. The U-profiles have locking strips facing each other, so that the U-profiles are firmly and permanently connected to each other.

In a further preferred embodiment, the one U-profile has a double wall forming a slot with locking strips into which the leg of the other U-profile e.g. the lower profile locks.
