Description
Method for finishing fiber material Addition to patent 875 1 $ '7 The patent 875 187 is directed to a method for finishing cellulose or cellulose hydrate textiles, which consists in impregnating this with liquors which contain an aliphatic or isocyclic dialkylenediurea, and optionally also loaded with a higher molecular weight monoalkylmonoethylene urea or other water repellant, then dried and finally subjected to a heat treatment.
It has now been found that the specified method does not can only treat cellulose or cellulose hydrate textiles, but also natural silk.
In the French patent 865 869 a process for the finishing of natural silk is described, after which the same is soaked in baths containing urea derivatives of isocyanates and ethyleneimine, then dried and finally subjected to a heat treatment. However, such a process does not bring about any improvement in the abrasion value of the untreated fiber. In contrast to this, when the natural silk is impregnated according to the present process, this abrasion value is improved several times, which largely prevents the natural silk from fanning out. Example A natural silk fabric is mixed with a ro% aqueous solution of the compound padded at room temperature, spun, dried and reheated at 140 ° for minutes. The silk treated in this way has an increased use value and in particular no longer shows the annoying tendency towards the splicing of the capillary fibers, which is expressed in the known blanchissures.
