The invention relates to a circular knitting needle in which a
metallic rope wire consisting of a middle part in knitted fabric with a larger diameter
is attached. This rope wire consists of one with the finest metal wires
braided soul made of steel or metal. Such circular knitting needles have the - \ 'adhteil,
that this rope wire must be smoothed by a special process, and that
Sometimes the fine iDirähtchen may be damaged during use, in particular
also at the transition point between this wire rope and the mostly made of metal tubes
formed reinforced knitting ends. This disadvantage gave rise to
that the wire rope was widened like a knot at the passage point, but without one
to achieve a satisfactory solution in all cases. To eliminate this nightCile
and in order: to avoid a special straightening of the wire rope, one has. already proposed
to provide this wire rope with a finite cover made of celluloid. Despite application
complicated manufacturing processes failed to produce this tubular celluloid casing
to be intimately connected with the wire rope. Furthermore, it wasn't that way
possible to maintain the required flexibility of the middle part and fractures.
to avoid the celluloid wrapping.
These disadvantages are eliminated according to the invention in that the
Rope wire with hard polycondensate or polymer, preferably Hat-t-polyvinyl chloride,
is overmolded. The use of hard Polvkondensat or polymer leads to
a surface of the required hardness and. Smoothness without the need
post-processing consists of grinding. On the other hand, it can
The wall thickness of this coating is kept so low by the process of overmolding
be that the flexibility of the center piece is not impaired.
Widerlager bildet. For the production of straight knitting needles it has already been proposed that
To encapsulate steel wire with polyvinyl chloride or similar plastics.
Apart from the fact that it is not in contrast to the present invention
was about the encapsulation of a rope wire as the center piece of a circular knitting needle,
was the use of plasticized polyvinyl chloride according to the known method
provided, d. H. a material whose application in terms of its elastic
Properties had to appear more obvious at first. When trying has
but surprisingly shown that not with soft polyvinyl chloride, but
the object of the present invention is achieved precisely with hard polyvinyl chloride
can be-. It has also been found that especially when using
v on hard polyvinylchloride-d the encapsulation of the rope wire to form a pressed skin of
special smoothness and hardness, which makes it much easier for the mesh to slide
will. The reason for the creation of this particularly hard and smooth surface
apparently consists in the fact that in the process of spraying -der Seilid.raht a
Forms abutment.
Strickenden; verhindert.Another advantage of the invention is that the Polyvinylchloridhüll.e
at the E, inspection point of the knitting end, regardless of whether they are made of plastic or
Made of metal, an improved resilient embedding causes the use
tearing of the tube-like tears, which has so far often been observed, of the needle
Knitting; prevented.
The knitting ends thickened in diameter in the usual way
expediently also made of the same plastic with which the rope wire
of the middle part is encapsulated, or it is encased with this plastic
Tubes of other active substance, e.g. B. metal, used, whereby danini the art, fabric cover
the knitting ends and the middle part can be intimately connected by welding.
In the beer drawing, the subject matter of the invention is based on an exemplary embodiment
shown. The rope wire z is finite with a thin layer full of hard polyvinyl chloride
encased, which is applied by overmolding. The ends of this! Middle section are
fastened in the usual #Wise in the knitting ends 3 enlarged in diameter, the
can be made of metal or plastic or metal coated with plastic.
If the knitting ends have a plastic sheath, this is covered with the plastic sheath
of the rope wire to be welded.
