Die vorliegende Reibevorrichtung für Brod, Kartoffeln, Gemüse u. s. w. unterscheidet sich von den gebräuchlichen Reibevorrichtungen dadurch, dafs zwei Reibeflä'chen einander gegenüberstehen, zwischen welchen die., zu reibende Masse sich befindet. Die eine dieser Flächen wird in eine hin- und herschwingende Bewegung versetzt, indem zugleich ein mehr oder weniger kräftiger Druck auf dieselbe ausgeübt wird. Indem beide mit Reibezä'hnen versehene Flächen gegen einander arbeiten, vollzieht sich die Arbeit nicht allein viel schneller, als z. B. bei den gewöhnlichen Trommelreiben, sondern die geriebene Masse wird viel feiner, denn die Bewegung erfolgt nicht in einer Richtung, wobei fadenähnliche Reibsei zu entstehen pflegen, sondern die hin - und hergehende Bewegung erzeugt ein Product wie das der Handreibeeisen. Die fein zerriebene Masse tritt theilweise durch die Lochungen der Reibefläche A in das Innere des Trichters und läuft hier durch das Rohr C herab, theilweise fällt sie unmittelbar durch das untere Reibeeisen B in den darunter zu stellenden Sammelbehälter. Die beiden Trichter A und B sind so in einander gepafst, dafs bei Auftreffen der Randflächen α und b gegen einander die Reibeflächen so weit in Abstand gehalten werden, um nicht gegen einander zu reiben, so dafs bei Leergang keine Beschädigung entsteht. Die zu reibende Masse wird durch diese Doppelreibe bis auf die allergeringsten Reste vollständig zerrieben, so dafs keine unverarbeiteten Fladen oder Brocken verbleiben. Es kann aber die Vorrichtung ebensowohl in eine Tischplatte oder in ein beliebiges Traggestell eingesetzt sein.
