Description
B. beim Vereisen. Bei Kampfflugzeugen beeinträchtigen Außenantennen vielfach das Schußfeld.Antenna arrangement for aircraft with an essentially metallic surface and one or more vertical ladders Modern aircraft have one Number of antennas that are used partly for sending, partly for receiving messages and for Orientation, e.g. B. in the blind landing, are required. The accommodation of the Antennas on airplanes, especially on metal airplanes, cause difficulties, which grow with the number of antennas. The simplest form of antenna arrangement, the tension from one external aircraft part to the other has many disadvantages, quite apart from the fact that only a few antennas can be accommodated in this way. External antennas increase the air resistance, which is particularly evident at high speeds affects. Furthermore, such antennas are mechanical and atmospheric attacks exposed, by which they can be destroyed or temporarily unusable, z. B. when icing. In combat aircraft, external antennas often affect this Field of fire.
The same disadvantages, albeit to a lesser extent, have in the form of fixed ladders, e.g. B. Dipoles, on the outer skin at a certain distance attached parallel to the surface as well as the rod-shaped from the aircraft contour outstanding antennas.
In an effort to remove the disturbing and sensitive antenna structures To avoid external influences as far as possible are suggestions at an early stage became known, according to which the antennas inside the aircraft body, in hull or in the wings. This type of protected antenna arrangement However, because of the shielding effect of the metal skin, it is made of metal Aircraft not possible. In addition, with regard to the directional effect of the spatial arrangement of the antennas, special considerations must be taken into account. It is further became known to arrange and loop antennas inside metal aircraft fuselages to circumvent the shielding effect in that for the passage of the electrical Shafts in the metal hull openings are provided, optionally with non-metallic Fabrics are covered.
The invention relates to an antenna arrangement through which the aforementioned Disadvantages are completely eliminated. The inventive idea assumes without Change the external shape of the aircraft the antennas in particularly suitable places to sink the aircraft body.
Special (difficulties arise, however, from the requirement after installing the antennas as perpendicular as possible, taking into account the vertical field effect as well as the greatest possible effective antenna height to achieve perfect reception and broadcasting conditions. It is also necessary for reasons of operational safety, to choose a place on the aircraft to accommodate the antennas where the shielding effect of the other aircraft parts limited to the lowest possible level is and achieved with the circular reception and transmission diagrams as far as possible will. In extensive tests it was found that the fixed parts of the Vertical stabilizer best meet these conditions. According to the invention hence the antennas within the wholly or partially made of non-metallic materials limited vertical stabilizer parts, mainly in the fixed part, and advantageous with substantial parts of their extension in the upwards or downwards over the fuselage housed protruding parts in an approximately perpendicular direction, within non-metallic built-in parts that are inserted into the tail unit parts in such a way that the streamlined course is not interrupted and a good antenna effect is achieved will. It was determined by experiment "that it is possible: at this point several antennas serving different purposes and operating on different waves to be arranged spatially close to each other.
In the drawing, the arrangement of a number is an exemplary embodiment of antennas in an aircraft fin, in Fig. i in the Side view, partly in section, Fig. Z in plan, partly in section.
Zur Verbesserung der Antennenwirkung erhalten die Antennen vorteilhaft kapazitive Endbeschwerungen i4..In the fin body i wall parts 2 and single sets 3 and 4 made of non-metallic material are installed in such a way that that they are not surrounded by metallic walls and the static strength the fin is not affected. The shape and size of the inserts is chosen so that the original streamlined design of the tail fin is fully retained. Antenna structures 5, 6, 7 and are located within the non-metallic inserts B. Adapters g, io, ii and 1a are connected to the antennas, of which Cables 13 lead to the receiving and transmitting devices, which are housed in the aircraft fuselage are. To improve the antenna effect, the antennas are advantageously capacitive End weights i4 ..
It has been confirmed by tests that such in the fixed part of the rudder unit especially in the parts protruding above or below the level of the fuselage the tail fins, concealed antennas, good reception and transmission results demonstrate. Likewise, there are favorable bearing results. The number of those flowed in the key @ Antennas to be accommodated can, in contrast to the exemplary embodiment described, multiply at will. In the case of double vertical stabilizers, the antennas are located both (side fins available. In this case the antennas can be on both Pages are distributed. Special effects, e.g. B. when bearing, at achieve double-sided arrangement of the antennas. Particularly good antenna effect is achieved if the antennas are housed in the parts of the vertical stabilizer, which protrude upwards or downwards from the contour of the fuselage. When housed there Antennas it is also possible to largely reduce the adverse effects of the hull mass turn off. The set goal, the extensive elimination of atmospheric and mechanical influences on the antennas, protection from icing, creating free : The field of fire, increasing operational safety, is due to the above Invention has been fully achieved.
