Description

The invention relates to a shelf consisting of a plurality of intersecting longitudinal and transverse beams which are connected at ^their intersection points.

However, taking things apart and putting them back together, for example when moving house or redesigning your living space, always leads to minor damage, which over time can lead to complete destruction.

The object of the present invention is to create a shelf of the type described at the beginning, which can be folded up in a space-saving manner for transport and can be set up for residential purposes in various possible variations using interior design means.

This task is solved by the fact that the longitudinal and transverse beams consist of a large number of longitudinal struts and transverse struts forming shelf compartments, which reduce the shelf depth.

Alternating longitudinal struts and cross struts are provided which are provided with holes at their intersection points in which hinge rods run, the longitudinal struts and cross struts can be folded relative to one another on the hinge rods and a folding safety device is assigned to one of the shelf compartments. In a preferred embodiment, it is provided that a drawer can be inserted into one of the shelf compartments as a folding safety device, while in another embodiment it is provided that at least one of the shelf compartments is assigned a diagonal strut as a folding safety device.

These measures create a shelf that can be folded up by removing the drawer or diagonal brace, which serves as a safety feature. Various interior design options can be exploited by designing the drawer accordingly.

Due to the hinge-like displacement of the longitudinal struts 1" and cross struts 12 at the intersection points 13, the shelf 10 can be completely folded up as soon as the drawer 18 is pulled out. To set up on a support surface 20, the shelf 10 is pulled apart until the shelf compartments 17 have assumed the desired cross-sectional shape, for example the square shown in Figure 1. To secure it in this position, the drawer 18 can be pushed into one of the shelf compartments 17 and the entire shelf is secured against folding up.

In the embodiment shown in Figure 1, the shelf 10 is set up on outer support corners 22. As Figure 3 shows, however, it can be set up on a support surface 25 rotated by 45°. The longitudinal struts 11 run vertically and the cross struts 12 run horizontally. The shelf compartments 17 then have vertical and horizontal surfaces . A shelf set up in this way can be secured in position , for example, by a drawer 18 inserted into one of the lower shelf compartments 26 or by wall hooks.

The design shown in Figure 4 is secured by a diagonal strut 27, which can be pivoted at one end about one of the hinge rods 15 and is provided at the other end with a hook 28 that is open on one side. The diagonal strut 27 is detachably connected to a second hinge rod iSa with the hook 28, as shown in dashed lines. The diagonal strut 27 can also run over several shelves 17.

As Figure 4 further shows, one of the vertically extending longitudinal struts 11a can be assigned a V-extension in the form of a support strut 29. This support strut 29 can be folded out and represents a support that supplements the support surface 25.
