SHELF CONSOLE

The invention relates to a console for a shelf.
Shelves generally comprise vertical columns, uprights or wall rails (hereinafter generally referred to as shelving columns or simply columns) provided with rows of holes. Brackets are hung in the holes in the rows of holes. The brackets support shelves, baskets or similar shelves (hereinafter generally referred to as shelving shelves or simply shelves) for the goods to be accommodated by the shelving.

In order to be able to transport the well-known shelves in a space-saving disassembled state and to be able to assemble them easily on site, the columns, brackets and shelves are usually designed in such a way that they can be easily put together and assembled without tools. Different systems are known for this.

The known systems are not compatible with each other. What they have in common is that the brackets usually have two hook-shaped projections that are hung in two adjacent holes in the row of holes on a column. However, the distance between the two adjacent holes is different for different systems. The distance between the two projections on the bracket is always precisely matched to it. The shelves usually only fit on the brackets of a specific system without slipping.

Common dimensions for the distance from bottom edge to bottom edge of adjacent holes within a row of holes, i.e. for the "division" of the row of holes, are 50 mm or 30 mm. Common shelf brackets are only compatible with one of these divisions.

This limits the possibilities to replace existing shelves in which different systems with incompatible

components used to adapt to changing requirements, and makes it necessary to manufacture and store a large number of different shelf components for the different systems.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a shelf bracket that can be used as universally as possible.

This object is achieved with the shelf bracket according to one of claims 1 to 3. Advantageous embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

The shelf bracket according to claim 1 has the advantage that it is compatible with columns whose rows of holes have a pitch of 50 mm as well as with columns with a pitch of 30 mm.

The design of the shelf bracket according to claim 2 ensures that the upper, hook-shaped projection of the bracket can be hooked into various holes in different columns with sufficient ease. In addition, the lower section of the rear edge of the bracket supports it in such a way that it protrudes slightly upwards away from the column when not under load. When under load, a less rigid column deforms slightly and the bracket then assumes the desired (for example horizontal) orientation. This means that the shelf bracket in question can be easily combined with different columns.

The shelf bracket according to claim 3 can be combined with different shelves, each of which has a stiffening bar that, on the one hand, stiffens the shelf and, on the other hand, engages in one of the recesses in the bracket mentioned in claim 3 and thus prevents the shelf from slipping. In addition, a shelf can be placed on the bracket in several positions, with the stiffening bar engaging in either one or the other of the two recesses.

The design according to claim 4 enables a secure support for the shelf and the use of the console

columns with two rows of holes running close together as well as with two rows of holes running further apart from each other.

The characterizing features of the individual claims can also be used advantageously in combination with one another.

A preferred embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawings.

Figure 1 shows the side view of a console 1 as well as schematically two different columns 10, 20 into which the console 1 can be hung, and the profile of a shelf 30 that can be placed on the console.

The console 1 has a rear edge 3, 4 which faces the respective column 10, 20 used.
Two projections 5, 6 protrude beyond the rear edge 3, 4, with which the bracket 1 can be hooked into the respective column 10 or 20. The upper 5 of the two projections is hook-shaped. The inside of the hook shape forms a seat 7 with which the bracket 1 can sit on the wall of a hole 12, 22 of the column 10 or 20 used.

Each column 10, 20 has a row of holes 11 or 21. The individual holes in the rows of holes 11, 21 are vertically slotted. In the present embodiment, the length I ₁₀ of each hole for column 10 is 28 mm. The distance t ₁₀ from the lower edge of a hole to the lower edge of the adjacent hole in the same row of holes 11, ie the pitch of the row of holes 11, is 50 mm. In the row of holes 21 of column 20, the length I ₂₀ of each hole is 20 mm and the pitch t ₂₀ is 30 mm. These are the values for commercially available columns.

As is indicated in Figure 1 by means of broken lines in the manner of an exploded view, the bracket 1 can be attached both to the column 10 with a larger pitch t ₁₀ and to the column 20 with a smaller pitch t ₂ o. To do this, the hook-shaped upper projection 5 of the bracket 1 is first hooked into an upper hole 12 or 22 of the corresponding column 10 or 20 and pressed downwards until the seat 7 of the upper projection 5 rests on the lower edge of the upper hole 12 or 22. Then the lower projection 6 of the bracket 1 is inserted into a lower hole 13 or 23 below the upper hole 12 or 22, whereby the bracket 1 is secured against tilting about an axis running horizontally in the plane of the bracket.

When using the bracket 1 with the column 10 with a larger pitch, the lower projection 6 engages in the lower area of the lower hole 13, with the upper hole 12 and the lower hole 13 being directly adjacent. This engagement is possible because the distance h between the seat 7 of the upper projection 5 and the lower edge of the lower projection 6 corresponds at most approximately to the pitch t ₁₀ of the column 10.

When using the bracket 1 with the column 20 with a smaller pitch, the lower projection 6 engages in the upper area of the lower hole 23, which is the hole next to the upper hole 22. This is achieved by the distance a between the seat 7 of the upper projection 5 and the upper edge of the lower projection 6 being at least about twice the pitch t ₂ o minus the length t _2Q of a hole in the column 20, i.e. 2 ^t ₂₀ -I ₂₀ .

The rear edge 3, 4 of the console 1 has two straight sections, of which the upper section 3 runs from the bed 7 of the upper projection 5 to the lower projection 6 and the lower section 4 is arranged below the lower projection 6. Both sections 3, 4 are not aligned but have a small offset d of 1~3 mm. This offset causes the console 1 attached to the column 10 or 20 to be aligned essentially along its lower

section 4 rests against the column and supports the console 1 when loaded. Stronger support of the console by the upper section 3 would in any case contribute little to the load-bearing capacity of the console due to the laws of leverage and the small distance to the hook-shaped upper projection 5.

The offset between the upper section 3 and the lower section 4 also results in a sufficiently large inner area of the hook shape of the upper projection 5 on the seat 7 to allow easy hooking into the upper hole 12 or 22 of the column 10 or 20, and has the consequence that the front end of the bracket 6 (on the right in Figure 1) projects slightly upwards when not under load. When loaded, some of the columns deform slightly so that the bracket 1 is then exactly horizontal.

The bracket 1 is provided with recesses 8 for fastening struts (not shown) between two adjacent brackets and conventional anti-detachment devices (also not shown) to prevent the bracket from being accidentally unhooked from the column 10 or 20 when it is hit from below. When using the bracket 1 with the column 20, where the lower projection 6 comes to rest with its upper edge on the upper edge of the lower hole 23, a certain degree of protection against unintentional unhooking is provided even without an anti-detachment device.

As can also be seen from Figures 2 and 3, the console 1 has a flat, vertical body 2 in use, onto which the projections 5, 6 are formed, and on the upper edge of which a support 9 is angled at a right angle to the body 2. The shelf 30 is placed on the support 9. The shelf 30 is shown in profile in Figure 1. It contains a front web 31 and a rear web 32, which are formed onto the shelf 30 so as to protrude downwards and serve to stiffen it and to attach front or rear walls or labels (not shown). Two recesses 33 and 34 are provided in the upper edge of the console 1 and thus in the support 9, of which the

rear 33 receives the rear web 32 when the shelf 30 is in the normal position and thus secures the shelf against slipping. The shelf 30 can also be placed further forward (on the right in Figure 1) on the console 1, with the rear web 32 then being received by the front recess 34. In addition, the console can be used with shelves (not shown) that are less deep and only extend from the front edge of the console 1 (on the right in Figure 1) to the front recess 34, with their rear web being inserted into the front recess 34.

To support adjacent shelves in the middle area of a wider shelf wall, columns are used which, as shown in Figures 2 and 3, have two rows of holes running next to each other, so that two brackets can be hung next to each other. Figure 2 shows a column 40 with two rows of holes 41, 41' at a relatively large distance from each other. A bracket 1 with a support 9 angled to the left when viewed from the front (on the right in Figure 1) is hung in the right-hand row of holes 41. A mirror image of this bracket 1' with a support 9" angled to the right is hung in the left-hand row of holes 41'.

Figure 3 shows a column 50 with two closely spaced rows of holes 51 and 51". The bracket 1 with the support 9 angled to the left is here hooked into the left row of holes 51, while the mirror-image bracket 1' with the support 9' angled to the right is hooked into the right row of holes 51'. In this way, the gap between the supports 9 and 9 ¹ of the adjacent brackets 1 and 1' is always very narrow, regardless of the distance between the adjacent rows of holes 41 and 41' or 51 and 51', and shelves that engage in this gap in the usual way are reliably protected against slipping.

The present invention therefore relates to a shelf bracket 1 which can be hung in columns 10, 20, 40, 50 with very different hole patterns. In addition, a

Shelf 30 can be placed on the console in different positions.

Claims (4)

PROTECTION CLAIMS: 1. Shelf bracket with a support (9) for placing a shelf base (30), a rear edge (3, 4), a hook-shaped upper projection (5) projecting beyond the rear edge for hooking into an upper hole (12, 22) of a row of holes (11, 21) of a shelf column (10, 20, 40, 50), and a lower projection (6) projecting beyond the rear edge for engaging in a lower hole (13, 23) of the row of holes (11, 21) of the shelf column, characterized in that the distance from a seat (7) of the hook-shaped upper projection, with which it rests on the wall of the upper hole (12, 22) in the suspended state, to the upper edge of the lower projection is at least about 40 mm and to the lower edge of the lower projection is at most about 50 mm. 2. Shelf bracket with a support (9) for placing a shelf (30), a rear edge (3, 4), a hook-shaped upper projection (5) projecting beyond the rear edge for hooking into an upper hole (12, 22) of a row of holes (11, 21) of a shelf column (10, 20, 40, 50), and -S- a lower projection (6) projecting beyond the rear edge for engaging in a lower hole (13, 23) of the row of holes (11, 21) of the shelf column, characterized in that the rear edge (3, 4) at the lower projection has a straight lower section (3) for supporting on the shelf column (10, 20, 40, 50) and, adjacent to the upper projection, an upper section (3) which is not aligned with the lower section (4) and is drawn in towards the center of the console (1). 3. Shelf bracket with a support (9) for placing a shelf (30), a rear edge (3, 4), a hook-shaped upper projection (5) projecting beyond the rear edge for hooking into an upper hole (12, 22) of a row of holes (11, 21) of a shelf column (10, 20, 40, 50), and a lower projection (6) projecting beyond the rear edge for engaging in a lower hole (13, 23) of the row of holes (11, 21) of the shelf column, characterized in that two recesses (33, 34) are provided in the support (9) for receiving a stiffening web (32) of the shelf base (30). 4. Shelf bracket according to one of claims 1 to 3, with a flat body (2) to which said projections (5, 6) - 10 - and the support (9) are integrally formed, the support being angled at a right angle to the body.
