Wetting agents It has been found that the water-soluble salts of monosulfonic acids
branched aliphatic hydrocarbon, with at least six carbon atoms
Valuable wetting agents in the molecule for aqueous, especially concentrated aqueous
Represent solutions of electrolytes. Such means are very technical
desired and can, for. B. for flame retardant salt solutions, for Epsom salt finishing solutions,
in caustic liquors and in alkaline salt solutions for metal and glass cleaning
to be needed.
Man gelangt zu diesen sulfosauren Salzen in bekannter Weise z. B.
These sulfonic acid salts are obtained in a known manner, for. Example, by applying to branched aliphatic hydrocarbons, which also Substitueinten such as Halogenatomei may contain, sulfur dioxide and chlorine are allowed to act and the Alze Sulfosäurechloride formed in corresponding water soluble sulfosauro S, in particular alkali metal salts transferred.
z. B. folgende verzweigte Kohl,enwasserstoffe in Betracht: 3-Methvlpentan, 2, 2-
und 2,.3-Dimethylbutan, 3-Äthylp,entan, --,2-Dimethylpentan, 2,4#-Dimethylpentan,
2,2,3-Trimethylbutan, 2-Äthylhexan, 3-Äthylhexan, :2,5-Dimethylhexan, 2-Methyl-3-äthylpentan,
2,2,4-Trimethylpentan, 2, 2, 3, 3-Tetramethylbutan, 4-Äthylheptan, 2, 2,
5-Trimathylh-exan, 3, 3- und 3, 9-D:iät-hylpentan, 5--Met#hylnonan,
Diisoamyl, 4-Propylheptan, 2-Methyl-4-propylheptan, 5-Äthylnonan, 5-Propyloctan,
5-Propylnonan, 5-Butylnonan, 6-Propyldodecan, 4, 7-Dipropyldekan. Man
B. in manchen Peitroleumfraktionen vorliegen. As starting materials for the preparation of these sulfonic acid salts come z. B. the following branched cabbage, enhydrogen into consideration: 3-Methvlpentan, 2, 2- and 2, .3-Dimethylbutane, 3-Ethylp, entane, -, 2-dimethylpentane, 2,4 # -dimethylpentane, 2.2, 3-trimethylbutane, 2-ethylhexane, 3-ethylhexane,: 2,5-dimethylhexane, 2-methyl-3-ethylpentane, 2,2,4-trimethylpentane, 2, 2, 3, 3-tetramethylbutane, 4-ethylheptane, 2 , 2, 5-trimethylhexane, 3, 3- and 3, 9-D: ethylpentane, 5-methylnonane, diisoamyl, 4-propylheptane, 2-methyl-4-propylheptane, 5-ethylnonane, 5 Propyloctane, 5-propylnonane, 5-butylnonane, 6-propyldodecane, 4, 7-dipropyldodecane. These hydrocarbons can be used as such or in the form of their mixtures, so that mixtures of sulfonic acid salts which have good solubility properties are obtained. One can also start from naturally occurring branched-chain hydrocarbon mixtures, as they are e.g. B. present in some petroleum fractions.
These alkali salts are added to the electrolyte solutions, depending on their concentration and the desired wetting effect, in amounts of from oj to 2ol / o, based on the amount of electrolyte. The sulfonic acids dissolve smoothly in the electrolyte solutions without being salted out. In some cases, a slight warming is advisable. The. The solutions obtained are stable, so that they can be stored for a long time and used repeatedly without difficulty. In order to simplify the practical application, the silfosate salts can also be mixed with the electrolyte in solid form, mechanically or by means of a disintegration process, and used as a mixture. The mixtures are dry and storable.
Ferner kommen in Betracht Laugierflotten,
Alkali-, Magneslum-, Aluminiumsulfaten, Alkalichlorid-en, Alkal-i#hosphaten, -boraten,
-silicatlen, -wolfrarnaben, -carbonaten, -acetaten, -formiatien, -tartraten darst-ellen.
The electrolyte solutions for which the branched aliphatic sulfonic acid salts can advantageously be used as wetting agents are, for. B. to be mentioned alkaline salt solutions such as Silicabe, phosphates and soda, possibly with the addition of free alkali, as they are mainly used for metal and glass cleaning. These salts are generally used at a concentration of 5 to 20 g / l. Also suitable are caustic liquors, which contain an average of 70 9/1 T \ a O H and are used, among other things, to treat rayon tricot days in order to increase the mesh structure, elasticity and utility value, as well as Epsom salt finishes, which generally contain 150 to 400 9/1 Epsom salt and are also used in the textile industry. Finally, of particular interest are flame retardant salt solutions, which are preferably used to impregnate wood and textile material, and saturated aqueous solutions of alkali, magnesium, aluminum sulfates, alkali chlorides, alkali phosphates, borates, silicates, tungsten hubs, carbonates, - show acetates, formates and tartrates. The concentration of these salts in the saturated solution for use fluctuates within wide limits from about So to 700 9/1.

hinzu.
In the case of elk trolyte solutions with a concentration close to the saturation point, it has proven to be expedient to use salts of sulfonic acids with a lower number of carbon atoms, while salts of sulfonic acids with a larger number of carbon atoms are advantageous for more dilute electrolyte solutions. B e i p e 1 To 1 1 of a saturated ammonium phosphate solution from the speizifischen weight 1,202, containing about 335 parts by weight of ammonium phosphate contains, add 2 parts by weight of sodium, Alizés #: 2, 2-D imethyl-4-me # thyl-pentallsulfosäure added . This salt is clearly soluble in the saturated ammonium phosphate solution and does not separate out of the solution, even if it is left to stand for a long time. By this addition, the surface tension b of the flame retardant salt solution is considerably reduced and its penetration capacity and its effectiveness are increased.
