Description

Lead bronze with a particularly fine distribution of lead, In: the production of binary lead bronzes, ie of lead bronzes, which have additional components; as copper and lead have, the copper grain grows into large crystals under certain cooling conditions. If lead bronze is at the same time very low in heat due to special types of fusion, there is a danger that great shrinkage stresses will occur: and that cracks will appear either between the crystals or within the crystals themselves. In accordance with the present invention, the shrinkage stresses caused by the copper crystals are reduced and lead distribution is significantly improved by adding small amounts of aluminum to the binary lead bronze. For example, the crystal size is a binary lead-bronze, the measured average fracture is about z mm, /, () mm reduced when zusetzte on Erwa 'o, 5 0iö aluminum.

The risk of cracking and breaking along the coarse grains was avoided in this way.
