The invention relates to a label for sticking or sealing onto an object, such as containers of any kind, such as cans, jars, bottles, cardboard packages or the like, or onto other objects, such as books, booklets or the like.

Such labels are used to label containers of any shape and nature in order to provide information about the contents of these containers. For example, such labels show the product name or the generic name or the name of the manufacturer or bottler of the goods contained in the container. These labels can also contain a recipe or recommendations for use or more detailed information about the composition of the product. It is well known that such labels are stuck to the object using pressure-activated or heat-activated adhesives, for example. In the case of plastic objects or plastic-coated objects, the labels can also be sealed on.

In certain cases it may be desirable to have additional printable space in addition to the label surface without having to stick additional labels onto the item, since such additional labels would impair the appearance of the item. Such additional printable space may, for example, serve to provide additional information about the product or to provide several different recipes for using the product or to display a detachable discount coupon or a similar lot or trading cards on it. In particular in the case of trading cards or lots or the like it is desirable to keep these hidden from the buyer until he has bought the goods and can remove the cover himself.

The fields adjoining one another in a row will usually have essentially the same shape, with the exception of a slight shortening of at least the third field compared to the second field in the direction perpendicular to the fold lines. However, the invention does not exclude the possibility that the fields can also have different shapes. In general, the labels according to the invention are glued to the object with the outside of the first field, while this first field is attached to the third field with its inside.
