An einer nasenförmigen Verlängerung a des eisernen Absatzes, welche entweder oben wie unten scharf abgekantet oder oben abgerundet ist, wird der Sporn C scharnierartig durch eine Schraube c angebracht, und ist in ersterem Falle feststehend, in letzterem, für welchen sich am besten ein gerader Sporn eignet, beweglich. Der bewegliche Sporn bietet den Vortheil, dafs er beim Abwärtssteigen auf Treppen u. s. w. sich im Falle des Anstofsens aufwärts bewegt, nach Ueberwindung des Hindernisses aber sofort wieder in seine gewöhnliche Lage zurückkehrt, wobei die scharfe Kante d der Nase ein weiteres Hinabsinken verhindert.
